    Billed in the Radio Times as 'A Ghost Story for Christmas' The Stalls of Barchester was written by M R James and features Robert Hardy, Clive Swift and the choir of Norwich Cathedral.
    Broadcast by the BBC on the 24 December 1971 and filmed entirely in Norwich Cathedral and the Cathedral Close.
    "A mysterious box in the old library of Barchester Cathedral reveals the strange story leading up to the death of a former archdeacon. From some old diaries, Dr Black, a scholar, pieces together a chain of events leading to a horrifying climax" [Radio Times]

    But definitely not the bells of the Cathedral for ithas but a ring of five in a minor key hung for stationary chiming.
