i thought these were terrible when i first bought them, but after hooking up to a dac, and an amp with sonic exciter, they became my daily drivers for a few months.. for the price and the right hook up, they became really good and enjoyable.
Hi, I personally think they would work for gaming as they sound good and the fit is nice and can be worn for a long time... however these do not have a Mic so you need to be running a separate mic if you want to talk to other players during your sessions.
@@BounceOnline yeah might also consider to buy a mic from behringer since its quite affordable and got a really good quality for recording music. thank you very much, btw.
Hello! This is a very nice review! I have a question thou. I plan to buy my first ever headphones cause I plan to start home mixing. I try to go budget as much as possible as I'm still the beginner. There are 3 headphones I'm thinking about so I'd like to hear your thoughts on it. I'm thinking between Behringer BH470, Audiotechnica ATH-M20x and Audiotechnica ATH-T200. Which one would you suggest the most? I try to get as much flat sound as possible.
Hi, I guess for me it would go for what your budget is and your personal preference is... especially in this price range. My personal opinion is that the BH470 seals much better around my ears than the M20X and the BH470 also has a bit more low end than the M20X. However I do feel the M20X has a slightly flatter response compared to the BH470. So if you are looking for a flatter response I would go with the M20X. Hope this help... *Vin*
@@BounceOnline thank you for your response! I will see if I'll get a good price for m20x somewhere, cause they're usually much more expensive than bh470. If not, I think getting bh470 as my first headphones is pretty good!
Bh 470 are just shrug of headphones. I bought them about 2 weeks ago. Really comfy but nothing more than that. Pretty cool lows, meh mids and pretty lame highs. Not terrible at all but you can easily buy superlux 681 cheaper and while you're going to sacrifice some comfiness 681's sound is way better

Hi, as I just commented to another person, I personally feel they would work! but they do not have a mic so if you want to talk to other gamers in a session then you would still need an external mic.
I need these like a hole in the head, I have ATH-M50x /m50 / Sony MDR-V6 / DT-770 Pro 80's Sony mdr-zx700's / DT880 Edition 250's and Fostex T50RP ... but now I totally want these $20~ (in the States see them for $19.90~ at various retailers online. )
I like you, subscribed...plus you are from S.A... for some reason I want professional headphone(they look good) even though I'm mostly gaming...but I also enjoy music and movies on my pc. nice review
I think you could use any pair of headphones for mixing as long you know what sound the headphones are giving you and if you can compensate for the sound you are looking for. Make sense?
Nice review i, have samson sr850 for games. I want these for when I need the isolation from my noisy house sometimes. I wonder how they will fare as gaming headphones, especially because they have a bit extra base but are still balanced
@@BounceOnlineI bought them, burning them in now..Right out of the box they don't stand a chance and they never will against the Samson sr850 but they sound ok, I think better than a lot of standard gaming headphones. They cannot compare in clarity against my Samsons they have a much darker sound signature and a very bass heavy one, the sound they produce was getting better while I was using them though. I can honestly say I am happy with my purchase :-) Now I have a new toy
I'm planning to get headphones for my gf(she is not audiophile). Which ones should I go for BH470 or JBL tune 500. Are those loud enough she will use them on phone and laptop (no amp). Thanks :)
Hi, so the the BH470 and the Tune500 are both in the same price range and they both sound great... I would honestly suggest the BH470 as the ear cups are bigger (over ear) and the Tune500 is smaller (on ear) So the BH470 would be more comfortable for longer use when listening to music, watching youtube/Netflix or during Zoom meetings. make sense? hope that helps you make a decision...
Thanks for reply :) Yes I do get what you are saying, well she has small ears haha! I'm still not sure I would get BH470 myself but cord is long (3m) maybe it would be annoying for her when or phone or laptop. JBL is much shorter.
@@tvrtkocro28 Ok so when I say the cord is 3m long... it is a coiled cable... so it stretches to a maximum of 3m but is only about 1m. which is what I like a bout coiled cables, if you move away from your desk and still have you headphones on it doesn't just rip them off your head or pull you computer the cable stretches.
For phone and laptop use, the jbl tune 500s are perfectly fine. As you guys talked about, bh470 has a bulky cable and isn't really fit for everyday use if she's going to go out and listen to music or watch things outside. In my opinion the bh470s are for the budget studio, but the jbl tune 500s are for the average listener and headphone user, it's also bluetooth, so you can just use it wirelessly when it's charged if I remember correctly, good luck getting something she likes, but I feel like the tune 500s are going to be better fitting because there is more colors that you could choose as well
I have a BH470NC, build quality is the same as BH470 - complete shit. The headband has a metal slider with plastic, this plastic is crap, and it will break soon. 3.5 mm plug and the main board on which it is soldered is also crap. Wires are so thin you can open it once, and then you have to resolder half of them. This is so badly designed, it will also break the left channel contacts if you look at it incorrectly. Whoever makes a review praising build quality has not used them more than ten times and should review them after like a month of usage. I repeat, these headphones are crap.
Great to see more South African tech reviewers

I have them and they are amazing. The only problem I started having is the earcups started peeling and I have no idea where to get replacements...
is it suitable for amps when playing guitars?

Any pair of headphones is good for any style of mixing you just need to have a reference track and know what the headphones are reproducing.
