Saying to you and family Tia and I am from Guyana and yes my grandmother and great aunties uses to do that too.
Me I'm from Haiti. My parents used to do worse than that. They used to take a piece of paper any paper at all. It could be tissue, toilet paper, napkins. They would light up the paper and put it dip inside my ears then I will hear noise coming out and that's how they treat it.
I love how Tia engages with her guests regardless of how old or young they are

I'm from the Caribbean, the oil is used when you get water trapped in your ear. It usually displaces the water and the water rises to the outer ear and easily flows out when you turn your head. It doesn't work if water's not the problem though. Love your vids!

Tia!!!! My Nana (Grandma) used to do that to our ears!! Warm olive oil and a cotton ball and I never got an ear infection! It works and that’s so awesome how your Mom did it! My family is Hispanic so it’s awesome to see different cultures do it, too! Love you Tia and your beautiful family!

I was born in the 60’s so Ik all about that sweet oil!! Cotton balls work really well in keeping the air from getting in the ear. You can put the oil on the cotton ball if you want

I once chewed a raw clove of garlic as I was told it would help my toothache, by far one of the foulest things I've ever tasted in my life, but it worked. Also this looks delicious I am absolutely cooking this.
This video came just in time, nursing my babies and me back to health from having Covid. Yes I remember my mom dropping warm laid in me and my siblings ears too when we had earaches. Sweet oil is suppose to help a ear ache. My mom put some on a little cotton ball and put it in our ear. She didn't warm it. It's a old school remedy passed down. In the morning she would take the piece of cotton out by then the sweet oil had dried. They still make sweet oil. I love watching tia cook, she make it fun. Chicken soup is magical. I also love vegetable and beef soup. Don't change tia, you are sweet just the way you are. Your children are just adorable.🤗. Homemade soup is the best, it's made with love. I love the broth. We grew up on chicken and rice soup when we were sick and now I make it for my kids. They love it. Your soup looks delicious too! We grew up rubbing Vicks all over our chest, neck, bottom of the feet and sometimes our “bottom” and if we had an earache, Vicks on a cotton ball in our ear until it was better. Sounds crazy but it all works so well. My young adult kids still do it when they’re sick. Thanks for sharing with us! Much love 💗

Can totally relate to the oil in ear remedy. My mum used to gently warm up some olive oil and place a few drops in my ear to help alleviate sore throat and related cold symptoms. I’m from South Asia and this is a very common home remedy. I’m watching this for inspiration on making a chicken soup for my sick kids and you just took me right back to my childhood with this one 💕 🤗

Hey Tia looking fabulous as always! I love seeing beautiful Cario! Homemade Chicken noodle soup is the best especially during the winter. I remember My mom use to heat a table spoon of olive oil and put it in my ear. My ear kinda throbbed but I do feel like it helped my ear ache.

Yes, a couple of drops pure olive oil in the ears helps to fight infection. Still works for my family....but I would prefer the chicken noodle soup.❤❤❤
