Can Onewheel GT keep up on MTB Trails?

- Can the GT hang with a semi-pro Mountain Bike Rider? We had accomplished Onewheel rider, Dom Williams in town a while back to put the Onewheel GT through its paces. It was incredibly exciting to watch him drop massive ledges, do every technical nudge and bonk in the book and generally be the Tasmanian devil that he is on GT. But when it came to trail riding, the only way to keep up with him was to saddle up our in-house Mountain Bike pro with a GoPro and see if Dom and the GT could hang. This was a ton of fun and honestly fully mind blowing to watch. And just a reminder, please be respectful on your local trails folks!!
*NOTE! - Dom likes to ride a slick tire so that's what we had on for him. If you're wanting to ride trails you may want to consider a treaded tire.

This was a super fun session. Trails should be enjoyed by everyone and it was epic to see Adam and Dom both have so much fun on different rides. Also fully mind blowing to see what this caliber of rider can do on trail on a GT - OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Stoked for you all, be respectful on those trails out there, have an epic day!!!!!

As a longtime and frequent trail rider in the Boulder, Colorado area, there are a lot of legal obstacles to riding my XR on trails. A local busybody on a mountain bike trail called the police on me and my teenage son. I ended up getting a court summons. "Motorized vehicles" meant something completely different in the 80's when the bans on them were put into place in the 80's nationwide.
To add insult to injury, the "trail" I was on was actually an old fire road, and the ranger who issued me the summons (and then forced me and my son to carry our boards the 3 miles back to the trailhead) was driving a Ford F-150 up the trail to issue me the summons. He wouldn't even let us put our boards in the truck so we wouldn't have to carry them. The wealthy older couple who called the police on us seemed to have an incoherent view that "chains/sprockets good, motors bad" despite the mountain bikes going 40+ mph whizzing past us. It should be noted that (by pure coincidence) there was another couple riding onewheels on the same trail who also had to go to court the same day I did.
I would love to know if there is any plan on Future Motion helping to organize some activism to get these archaic bans adjusted to not treat my 25 pound board with a top speed of 18mph like it's a 400 pound gas powered dirt bike. At this point, there isn't a single trail in Boulder area that permits me to ride my board legally. There are a small number of trails that allow certain kinds of e-bikes, but onewheels are not explicitly allowed, and are therefore banned and lumped into the "motorized vehicle" category.
I just ordered my GT can’t wait to try it out since I’m a first time rider!!!
yo give me a gt for a week end. i will get you way better footage.....i can out ride both of theses dudes. hands down sorry. dirt or pavement... all day all night.... eyes closed. good job filing a whole video in the shade..... i hope those were not your guys "paid pros".

Cameras generally have a way to adjust exposure so that some light reaches the sensor, resulting in images the viewer can interpret

Just started to off road with my GT, and I’m starting to work into jumps. Seeing the limits of it is insane.
I got an XR about a month ago because I couldn't stand to wait for the GT and already have about 200 miles under my belt. Hoping to be able to pick one up in a few months around my birthday though!
I'm 2 minutes in and had to pause. I'm gonna finish it but first I had to THANK YOU VEHEMENTLY for dropping more GT content! Sooooooosiiiiickkk!! Come on January 25!!!

This was wonderfully edited. Riding a onewheel on this type of terrain is just not doable. For them to make it appear like he was riding effortlessly is great editing. I’m more than sure he was unable to ride for more than a minute at a time

Is there only one GT available for filming? Trying to figure out why RUclipsrs don’t have this thing in their hands yet. This is literally like the 3rd video I’ve seen of this beast. Still can’t wait to get mine!
They are ramping up production right now. There are only two maybe three prototype boards in the world.

@@leeboss6631 yeah. That changed the day after I wrote that. We won't get them in March either. FM doesn't have a clue how to do the "under promise, over deliver" customer service tactic. Their policy is guestimate, disappoint, poorly communicate and disappoint again. Haha.

I'm enjoying my gt with slick tire. Still getting used to it. Some terrain is trickier than others like this gravel they use on the I&M trail by me. Might just need to get an additional tire but the treaded
I don’t get why people were mad about the only people to test it being the pros and not regular customers just cuz they feel it’d be biased opinions. But the videos weren’t for their opinions it was for their skills to show one of these machines REALLY pushed to the limit

Looks like Onewheel sealed the unit tighter to cover water resistance. I completely avoid any water on my XR. How'd you do that?

It can handle trails but it won’t have the clearance or power of the GT

Bummer you folks keep pushing the ship dates. I was so concerned about it I canceled my order as been waiting so long for everything snd it all keeps getting pushed back. I might reorder it again if leads times are met but mine was pushed back and I ordered same day came out.

Like the board, hate the fact they made it fat. Wouldn't u want the board as thin as possible for more clearance
To be fair, didn’t seem to be an issue in this video.
If the board was thinner it couldn’t fit the massive batteries. Plus did you even see the log he climbed??? That should instantly tell you. Clearance is zero issue

On technical trail riding like this. It is actually really nice to be able to pivot the board on its tire to change direction on a dime to navigate the trail.

Looks like with the limited ground clearance he's really smacking that bumper on landings. I don't recall that happening with the XR????
