  • RUclips's FIRST review of the SNES version of Attack of the PETSCII Robots! Eliminate all the robots in a settlement before they eliminate you!!
Can you believe new games are still being released physically for systems as old as the SNES? In fact, Attack of the PETSCII Robots was released physically for many other platforms even older than the SNES, so maybe it's not so unusual.
As soon as it was announced for the SNES though, I immediately ordered my copy! It's a game I've been interested in for some time now, and I'm glad that I can now finally play it; and on my original SNES, no less!
So how did I take to the game? How does it play? And, most importantly, how does the PAL version fare? Is it running slower than it's NTSC counterpart, or has it been sped up for all of us playing games in 50hz?
(And before anyone asks... yes, I did happily pay the higher shipping costs. I don't want my support for another RUclipsr to turn out to be costing them in the end)
Many thanks go out to The 8-Bit Guy for developing a great game, and for everyone involved in porting the game; to the SNES and to other platforms too!!

PET/Vic20/C64 original one + C128 one + PC DOS one physically.
C64 REU, Spectrum, Oric, X16, Atari 8 bits, Apple II, Genesis as digital only.

I own the Atari 8-bit, Genesis, and Atari 7800 versions of the game physically. Although the Genesis version looks the best of the ones I own, I think I prefer playing the 7800 version using a standard controller and keypad combo for it the most.

A subtle language error: tactfully vs tactically -etymologically (as well as in denotation) they're distinct.

I beat it a month ago. Its challenging yet fun. I wish more new games are being made for these older consoles like Petscii Robots. 8-Bit Guy in a previous video said he's bringing more games that he made to the SNES.

This has been on my to-buy list for a while. After realizing via another video that David will not be making more of these, I just had to snatch up one of the remaining copies of PETSCII which happens to be the EU version. Won't matter to me since I made the switch to playing on clone systems, so I'm just glad to have this in the collection before it is too late. It's really cool that I could also put the ROM onto a flash cartridge, no additional cost!

Of course it would work on a Mega Drive, if anything it should be easier to make a homebrew game on MD hardware that SNES hardware due to the Mega Drive hardware being more comptable for modern programming languages than the SNES stuff. It's just a matter of time...

Dya know if anyone has gotten one of those carts and tried it in a Mega Drive? Genuinely curious. It's only ever been marketed as a Genesis cartridge.

@@TheMultiGenGamer With regret I do not. That being said, I think most MD gamers wouldn't consider having this game for the system, probably because they are more into games that are 'Action' packed. This is an interesting Action Puzzler mind you that should certainly be considered.
