  • OH NO! Some NOSY neighbor complained about some brush next to some duplexes. So unfortunately, after an inspection it was determined that the overgrown area had to go! So Munchie and me do what we do best and we MULCHED IT DOWN!

    I agree with you, Davin. That stand of trees wasn’t offensive or covered in ivy or kudzu. It provided a traffic noise buffer, privacy between houses and a bird and animal refuge. Too many trees are being destroyed because of ignorant people. But, the area does look nice so hope that idle person is happy. 😏

    Anyone can see that "the brush," has been there for years, so why is the nosey neighbour only now, has decided to complain? We need more trees, shrubs and plants to help remove pollution from the environment, so "the brush" is doing some good for the environment and for us humans, so why did the City suddenly decided to have "the brush" removed? Now the wildlife which live in that habitat has to move on because their "home" has been destroyed. Way to go nosey neighbour.

    • @briangunter7072
      @briangunter7072 Год назад +5

      A lot of cities, municipalities, HOAs and such will have code or ordinances that say how your yard/ lot can look. I've seen some where only certain vegetation (like indigenous plants) can be planted, how high your grass can be, color of mulch, all kinds of stupid crap people sitting on a board somewhere dream up. Some are good in a way, keeping the neighborhood in order and some make absolutely no sense. And in many cases, you can rack up some pretty hefty amounts in fines or fees. Always check city codes or bylaws when looking to buy or build a home. There can be some crazy stuff you wouldn't even think about until you get a notice. Door has to be a certain color, no grilling meat on Tuesday after 7, no pet kangaroos, brown spots in grass must be green ( that's an actual bylaw of an HOA where I work sometimes).

      A very selfish and self centered question. What's good for one person is not always what's good for another or the community. If what you do on your land affects other people or the neighborhood, then you might be prohibited from doing it. For instance, you might think that Kudzu is an attractive plant that would good in your garden, but it could be very detrimental to the area because its growth cannot be contained. That's why rules and laws are made and enforced.

      @@T-bone1950 interesting reply. You seem to have lost sight of your priorities. There is a huge difference between selfish (which I'm not), and self centered (which I am. And everybody who isn't is a fool who centers around somebody else or a figment of the imagination). And if I remember well this video was about safety.
      "What's good for one person is not always what's good for another or the community. If what you do on your land affects other people or the neighborhood...sic", is a very subjective opinion. There are always people who complain about anything they don't like. A lot of people can't deal with the real world and want reality to be controlled, organized, and free of any danger. That attitude will lead us to a police state because we will lack resilience.
      Other people's feelings are NOT important to anybody else then themselves. There are basic standards of decency, but shrubbery on your own property is nobodies business.

    • @lux_moto

      @@flp376 If you mean they fear their judgement, or their feelings about you, I agree. We seem to have entered a new Victorian era, where everything you do should be judged, or at least open for public scrutiny. It seems that your business is everybodies business nowadays. Less personal freedom is better. that's the new slogan.

    I watch this and think of being 10 yrs old with my grandfather and we had scythes and hand sicles and a few hand held tree saws. When we went to clear space or a fence row, that was hard work but well worth it to be with my grandfather. You could do in one hour that would have taken us a week to get done. The only thing we had back then was the ability to burn all our brush as we cut it so didn't have to haul anything away. He would be so amazed at technology and machinery if he were alive today. He died in 1985 and worked for a lawn and tree trimming service and retired when he was 80. He was 85 when he died. That man loved to work outdoors.

    What we see here in this video is a well needed habitat for wilderness and insects destroyed for no reason at all, just because the neighbour "need" to see what you are doing in your backyard.

      It's impossible to know the dynamics of the neighborhood. Maybe they were cited at one point. If I can't do that, either can you, mentality.
      Property codes stand regardless of the complaining party's location. If I come to your location from another state I could file a complaint. A lot of times the complaints are anonymous, for obvious reasons.

    33:02 Good job. I'm curious, when the city wants vegetation like this gone do they specify how much? Because there is obviously still some left. Everyone would have a different opinion of how much brings it under control.

    Always got to be someone. Nosy neighbor wants it gone so it would be easier to spy glass on the neighbor. Actually I liked the trees.

    Me being a guy who likes a green planet. I wonder why you didn't leave a couple of those baby trees standing.

    I would have offered to leave a few of those beautiful pines spotted throughout the area, the job looks good for what it is but it would be better for the customer to have those trees in the long run.
