I keep a 1/2 inch impact driver in my trunk (like you mentioned), 17 mm impact socket and gloves, along with many other tools, funnels etc. instead of using your feet better to keep a hollow aluminum pipe so can slide it over the lug nut wrench and get more leverage.
When you buy any car, new or used, with locking lugnuts, make sure you get a key and 4 regular lugnuts! Then remove the locking lugnuts as soon as you get home. Service centers frequently forget to return the key after doing services requiring wheel removal (or put it in a different place in car so customer cannot find it). You would not believe the number of people who have had to pay several hundred dollars for towing, labor and parts because they could not find the key when they got a flat.
Why are you not inserting the lug wrench to aid in raising and lowering the jack? There is a slot in the middle of the lug wrench for the opposite end of the hooked bar to go into.
