Not sure why people are criticizing the exterior look of the new Q7...the old and new models both give different exterior design perspective. While the old exterior looks elegant and classy, the new one looks majestic and aggressive. You have got to be in the showroom to see the real picture. In fact, on the contrary, the road presence for the new Q7 is way more impressive. For SUV segment, road presence is one key winning factor, and majestic look and aggressive appearance are better components to bring solid road presence than the previous elegant and classy look. I have driven my new Q7 for 3 months now, and I must say that it's presence makes many heads turned! Many other car owners approached me to sing praises for this new model design when I was at the petrol station. For interior wise, it feels like a 6 stars hotel. For performance, it's super top notch! Thank you Audi for a well designed SUV!

The Q7 looks even worse in real life to be honest. If you see the taillights at night, all you see is a bunch of random red bars that don't look to good, and when it's not nighttime, it looks like a stormtrooper from the front and back, and doesn't look as premium as the XC90, or the old one, which had a lot more road presence.

It looks beautiful, but there's something about its styling that makes it look just a tiny bit more petite and less sculpted than the last gen, which looked amazing for all 9 years of its lifespan. Looking at a 2005-14 Q7 is always a treat, and while this does seem extremely special, there was just something about the last gen, that gave it that extra oomph.

In terms of just straightforward looks, the previous generation is totally better looking. It's big, bold, curvy, voluptuous, and quite iconic for that. But that doesn't mean the new one can't grow on you. My neighbor has owned one for a year now and I remember being quite disappointed on first sight. Over time though, I've really grown to appreciate the understated, sleek, minimalist look of the new Q7. And that's just the outside. This thing is the machine of the future in terms of drive, tech and comfort, it's brought Audi back to the very forefront of automobile innovation. Just like the first gen did back in 2005. Perhaps, someday we'll all love this just as much as we loved that one?

6:30 Have people never heard of the GLS? The GLS directly competes with the Range Rover, Q7, Lexus GS, Escalade (both short and long wheelbase), Lincoln Navigator (both wheelbases) and other full-size luxury SUVS. The GLE is a midsize, and would go against the X5, Q5 and Discovery, among others in the midsize market.

Why not, best decision I have made. About 6 years ago I paid $50,000 AUD for 2008 Q7 4.2 TDi, 100,000 klms. Still better in all ways compared with newer SUV's. Economy for a V8 is very good. Have done many modifications. Has google earth Sat Nav, upgraded front and rear camera. SR5 steering wheel. Replaced rear muffler with resonators in stainless steel. Very good towing vehicle due to diesel V8 twin turbo, does 100klm/hr with full sized semi offroad van 2.4 tonnes (max towing is 3500kg). Rides even better with the van on. Has adjustable air shocks.
I will never sell my vehicle

just test drove this thing for 2 days and I can affirm all the good stuff but the front seats are way too uncomfortable. You feel like sitting on top of the seats rather than in them. Also, the driver seat is positioned too high. I am 6ft and could not find a comfortable lower seating position, even though the seat has a 1000 adjustments. Unfortunately that was a deal breaker for me. Hasn't anybody found the same flaw?

You’re missing a few things. Here’s one major difference: the RAV4 can tow 1,500 pounds (Hybrid can tow 1,750 lbs.), while the Q7 with a 3.0 can tow 7,700 pounds. Also, the Q7 has that extra third row for when you have to car pool your kids’ team (and the six-cylinder engine that has the oomph yo handle the extra load).

+Naif. Z That's your opinion. Also stop by a dealership and compare looks side by side. New Q7 looks better in person.

+asupshik Exactly. Pictures and videos don't do the new Q7 any justice. It's really nice in person.
