I think the update just on the artwork, because I have seen the premium version which all area are not dark. And then, in this part I see that there is a keyboard arrow feature to attack the zombie that appears behind the painting, the table moves on its own, and the corpse in the bath is not chasing us, the journal of father's research appears in the first round of playing, the maid's diary, the next room of archive room can be opened, a shadow on the mirror then break, the empty lighter is not in the parents room. It might be just add certain artwork. The ending might be the same, plus bonus from Dio and the evil themselves

Oh, my goosh, the way Manly says "Aya" at 3:21 is absolutely perfect. Fits the original voice so well, and almost gave me chills. Also, the commentary in this episode was hilarious. XD
Alright, comparison time! While there are complete overhaul on environment and maps edits and usage of new pixel sprites and all of the cgs so far are redrawn, there are some characters that don't get their sprites redrawn such as Maria, Blonde Kid, the screaming mom. But there are some that is added like the pendant kid and even the monster that were just zombie, now are zombies in Victorian dresses! (Edit that I forgot to add: Tho I'm not digging father's redrawn sprites. Aya's still cute and her expression like scared etc for me is better than older one. The mother is beautiful as always and I like her sprites. But the father lost his stern and mysterious aura and I felt that it is more derpy... I think it is fine if you haven't played the older game, but it you have you noticed the aura difference) Puzzle wise, there is one I noticed and that is the kakri knife puzzle. That was nonexistent in the first published version of the game. And the rooms are extended and made more details like the bathroom and the kitchen so it changes on what place to investigate. The struggle mechanic tho... Oh god for me it was a run killer like, I know button mash is boring but quick action button? It turns into chores at that point. I'm surprised Manly got jumpscared by the cheap painting zombie like that was one of the jumpscares I remember.

Btw the ogre dude is a nuetral character. Yes he helped the main character throughout the story but all he wants to do is watch deranged humans for his amusement. He doesn't care about anyone but himself and doesn't take sides throughout the story.
Aww, first time I watched Mad Father was on Markiplier’s channel. To this day, I play the video at night to help me sleep, believe it or not. There’s an eerie calm about it. I haven’t seen the “all gem” ending so I’m definitely in for this let’s play: new design, new deaths, same ole crazy ass father.😂
Oh my gosh YES. One of the first RPG Maker horror games I ever played. I actually just watched your old playthrough of the game a couple of months ago, and I think the story and atmosphere still holds up. I particularly like the story because it has a lot of elements that I normally really dislike in horror games, but somehow they make it work. Now we just need a proper Ib update/remake and we'll be good to go!

Aaa! I actually played the Mad Father remake last year in summer as I wanted to try playing the game for myself even though I watched RUclipsrs play it years back. And I was shocked of the new art which was more graphic and creepy and had more little extra details in it which I couldn't remember of one of the plays RUclipsrs did in the past, so I was totally freaking out as the gameplay seemed more creepy that way. Thank goodness you played this again, Manly!
