Appreciate you honoring Charlie Hustle. As a 65 year-old Reds fan Pete was the player that inspired me to play the game and I tried to play it like he did, 100% hustle, head-first slides, rounding first like every single would be a double…I hope that the HOF opens it doors to the Hit King. He deserves to be there.
Thank you John. Rose was a big inspiration in my life. He was controversial off the field and sometimes on the field, but no one can ever accuse him of not giving it his all in everything he was involved. I’ve applied that theory in most things of my life and tried to instill that into my boys. Maybe now his HOF status can finally be settled. RIP Charlie Hustle. Mangini for President!
Boy did Greenberg ever ever mentor Kiner!! I'll never forget after Met games Kiners Korner. Real nice McDowell card n LC Greenwood. Thanks for showing. You always have something up that sleeveless shirt of yours!
Gave a video like. Love the Jack Ham Wonder Bread card. One of my goals is to put together his run. The Mel Ott is a beauty. I would be showing that in every video, lol. Love the last disc card you showed. Willie Hernandez. Haven't yet decided which card I want of his to represent him in the collection. Huge part of the '84 WS Tigers. Won the CY and the MVP as a RP! Pitched in 80 games and over 140 innings that year.
Thanks for the card show, John. I appreciate your words about Pete Rose. He was the one who inspired me to play baseball and start collecting cards back in ‘85-86. I did a short tribute video about it on my channel and showed my two favorite cards of his. Do you have a favorite Pete card?
Hack Wilson no like like Hack graders. Times are tough for one collector. I was watching one guy film in NC and was interviewing someone who's husband's entire card collection of nearly 1 mill cards got wooshed down the river. They also lost their back yard and most of their house. Quite the story of survival. Post office wasn't safe either. PS I was sad to see Rose pass before inducted if ever.
Few Major League players were traded as often as pitcher Louis Norman “Bobo” Newsom. The name Bobo came about because Newsom never could or would remember anybody’s name, so he called everyone Bobo and thus earned that nickname for himself. Brooklyn Robins / Dodgers (1929-1930) Chicago Cubs (1932) St. Louis Browns (1934-1935) Washington Senators (1935-1937) Boston Red Sox (1937) St. Louis Browns (1938-1939) Detroit Tigers (1939-1941) Washington Senators (1942) Brooklyn Dodgers (1942-1943) St. Louis Browns (1943) Washington Senators (1943) Philadelphia Athletics (1944-1946) Washington Senators (1946-1947) New York Yankees (1947) New York Giants (1948) Washington Senators (1952) Philadelphia Athletics (1952-1953)
I always enjoy your videos till this one. Mentioning James Harrison and the SuperBowl is not a great moment. I so wanted to see Kurt Warner win one more SuperBowl so badly. That interception was incredible but not at that moment 😆

Fuhgeddaboudit, Johnny, you're the hobby capo! Love the Pearson card. RIP Pete. He will always be a hall of famer in my book. Cheers!
Knew when you had the white glove on, it was going to be a special card showing. Thanks for sharing, John. Beautiful Clemente Bazooka card.
I enjoyed the fun randomess! The Wonder Breads cards are great and I love The All Time Greats.
Great stuff, John! Those 30s oversize cards are always a great value and tremendous images. Awesome video!

Amazing cards in the “Mancini Collection”

I liked Boom Boom. He wasn’t the same after that fighter died.
The Randle El and Farrior are neat cards to own.

It definitely was a great showing! Nice tie-in for Hank Greenberg.

You mention the Bobby Witt heritage is for your set. What sets do you build?
I work on all kind of sets. Rarely complete them haha

I understand. I routed for him too. Until the Super Bowl :)
Small hands, that was his problem. Never had the makings of a varsity athlete.
Is that from a movie?
