There is no such thing as good enough in Norman. Brent Venables is building a program for longevity not just go out and buy every player to win right now. We have to be a little patient and let him build this thing. Even though patience isnt a strength for us Sooner fans.
I’m happy as a Sooner but there’s no doubt we took 2 bad losses to teams that weren’t better than us. Injury to stutsman and a weak offensive plan in Kansas game…Lebby lost that game for us by being passive. Oh what could have been and almost was. I’m thrilled for new coordinators being here. If they can get the ball out of Jackson’s hand faster he will be deadly as his talent. QB and O line will be good but likely have some development pains but hopefully defense can keep us in every game as they develop.
I'm tired of "guru" coaches with a gimmick scheme. Their ego loses one game a year, every year, minimum. I'm glad to have Littrell, a football coach who happens to coach offense, rather than some kid that found all the "money plays" on Madden, and doesn't know what to do, when they get stopped. I hope we abandon RPO as an every play scheme, because it just sucks in current year. It half died when they changed the downfield linemen rules, and it's inconsistent, which means a lot of the yards are meaningless.
Year 2 under Coach V was improved over year 1, but we definitely peaked during Texas game and dropped off some last half of season. I see it as growing pains, and we will be better year 3.
OU would have been in playoffs if it wasn't for bad play calling against KU and OSU by Libby so I'm sure Sooners be good in SEC... Their QB and new OC will do fine... ❤
If Jackson plays like a Heisman caliber QB like he is capable of, and OU has a top 25 D? That’s the recipe to contend for a championship. OU still has a better top to bottom roster and coaching staff than 80% of the SEC. Just a matter of if they can put it together during the offseason
Most of our defense is coming back this year plus the second best defensive line class in the nation and some guys coming in the portal. The vets can mentor the young, talented guys coming in and they’ll have another year in the system, I feel like the defense will be great next year which is what is needed in the sec. JA won’t be DG level yet but I see the offense being pretty good plus we got sawchuck and Barnes coming back, a healthy Barnes is deadly and sawchuck really started to figure it out in the second half of the season, plus we got one of the best FCS running backs coming in and the best RB in the 2024 class and a big boy coming in to replace Walker. OU has an absolutely STACKED WR room next year. Only one who left is Drake Stoops (I’ll miss him a lot) but there’s a bunch of guys who are ready behind him. Hell, just Saban leaving alone makes the SEC less daunting than before. But to your point, I’d be fine with those records as well in BV’s first year in the SEC.
I don’t get this. OU has a better roster and better coaching staff than most of the sec. Only Texas Georgia and Bama (or whatever is left of it) can compete on those two fronts. The schedule is hard but so would be any SEC schedule. Anything more than 2 losses would be a bad season, esp if they don’t make a 12 team playoff

OU gets most of their players from the DFW metroplex. Norman is actually a few miles closer to DFW than Austin is. OU isn't going to be the next Nebraska because OU has a built in talent pipeline, Nebraska doesn't.
Why would they not want to come to Norman to play? Pretty rich program
This cat stays with the dumb comments....... 🤦
Boomer ❤️
They let their only good QB go to Oregon smh
Tell me your a casual without telling me you’re a casual
You will want those words back later. JA will be better
@@gincain7988 He may develop into a better QB but I don't see him being better next season.
Dillon is a good QB but he absolutely doesn't have the physical tools and talent of Jackson Arnold.
You’re such a casual 💀
Every human alive cringes every time this Southern Californian says, "YAWL". It's so out of place, and so contrived....why does he do it?
OU has developed a pattern of losing bowl games…not just playoff games. This trend started with Bob and continues to this day.
Hmm he won the Orange Sugar Fiesta and a Rose Bowl. Not many in history can say that
Honest look? Bob Stoops still runs the OU football program. BV is his defensive coordinator. Want proof? The game is on the line with the offense huddled on the sidelines and BV is over on the bench coaching the defense. OU has co-coordinators on both offense and defense, the Bob Stoops system is still in place. Clemson didn’t have co-coordinators did it? The friends and family of Bob are still running the OU program. Recruiting will be impacted after a challenging 2024. Glowing inexperience will be exposed in the OU football staff in 2024.
😂 whatever dude
Jeezuz you do understand that Stoops has never coached the offense right? Fn kids always lying. Stop watching sportscenter and WATCH actual games. Ty and have a blessed fn day
So, what is not true in that comment, looks like you got your feelings hurt there, truth hurts? Go ahead and take a shot @@chestercarter6081
