I truly love this song. Whenever I feel "down", I play this song. It reminds me that there is a better place...it's over the rainbow... the other side. When I play this recording, I just stop whatever I am doing, and just listen to it. The Dimensions sing this song the best. The harmony is fantastic. This song will live on forever.

I’ll be 64 years old in less then 2 weeks. I’m posting my very first comment on any smart device. I live for rhythm Rather rhyme and harmony @ a very young age. It took 7 difficult years, but for the grace of God I can remember the missing parts through the music of the particular years. The year that I was born (1959), Bobby Darins hit song “Mack the knife “Was #1 on the charts. After a life time of only seeing my family once, back in 1972, music has and will always remain a source of comfort and inspiration. In the words of the late John Lennon…..”All we are saying……is give peace a chance” ❤

Listening to this greatest Demensions song is like traipsing back into history. I used to hope I would just get lost forever in my youth, but now I appreciate just a fleeting moment of those high school times, before Vietnam, when everything was...what?, not so sure now what anything in life was about especially after you did it...without much or any choice...you just did it...

Saw Lenny Dell and The Dimensions about 10 years ago at The Count Basie Theatre in, Red Bank, NJ. And oh what a performance they put on singing this song. This is an awesome, fabulous song. One of the greatest recordings I ever heard :D.

Damn, the instrument lead in is so good...The talent of these young Demensions is superlative, especially with their combined harmony. Almost four perfect voices. Martelli's hallowed soprano is powerful...The Best Group...

It was 1960. It got a few spins on Oz radio where I was a War Baby. The Aussies call their country "Oz" these days. "Oz" means strength in Hebrew.

This is my absolute favorite version of this song. It's a combination of my father's love for doo wop (which I love bc he introduced me to it) and my love for the wizard of oz. Since I was little (I'm now 40), my dad had always found a way to request/dedicate this song to me. No matter what party or wedding we were at. It has always held a special place in my heart. On March 19th, I played this song for him before he passed away. I played it once last time for him when I said goodbye at the funeral home. It's such a beautiful song that now brings me to tears. I loved him very very much and miss him more than words can express. This will always be the song I hear and think of him and the lifetime of happy memories he has left with me and my children. I'll see you over the rainbow Dad 💔

FYI: This song was written in 1939 by Harold Arlen for the movie "Wizard of Oz" & sung by Judy Garland who made it famous. As great as Judy was, I have to admit that no one sings it as good as The Demensions!
