Happy 4th to Y’all-I’ll be staying home to keep the doggos calm. There’s always some idiots shooting off illegal fireworks even though they’re absolutely forbidden here in Napa-the fire danger is in the extreme zone and predicted temperature on the 4th is 104°F!
Being older now I enjoy staying home here in NC with my dogs watching on TV the fireworks from the East River in NY. When I was a younger in NJ we would be at the Jersey shore. Go up sit on the beach and watch the fireworks over Seaside. My kids use to love doing that as well. They would cover their legs in sand to avoid mosquito bites.
I belong to a senior cheerleader group (70 & 80 year olds) and we will be performing on the 4th at an assisted living facility. Afterwards will be going to a neighborhood get together. Happy 4th 🇺🇸
Hello Ladies! thanks for another great episode. I am Australian living in the US but i love July 4th holiday. I go to the beach and get tremendous joy watching all the people partying on the beach. Really fun!
favorite baby sweater to make…Baby surprise🎉 one skein of noro sock gets you a sweater and hat! Up the weight of the yarn for larger size. super fun knot.
We are doing a laid back bbq with hamburgers and hotdogs. Husband and boys are coming home from camp that day. Then fireworks in the front yard. Probably some movies. It’s always a fun day. Wishing you all a safe 4th!🎉🎆
The 4th of July includes barbecue, swimming, watching fireworks and spending time with friends and family🎉 I love the newborn and baby vertebrate sweaters
Those are great bags at the end. Amanda, i love your dress! Our pets are never happy about the 4th and our son just started like fireworks. We have them from all the windows at home, and good eats! - Kimberly
I’m in Canada & we celebrate Canada Day on July 1…we’ll be having a bbq & later watching the fireworks at our provincial park! And, knitting of course😉😄
We went to Lake Superior in northern Minnesota and watched the fireworks. It was seriously an amazing experience for us. I’m not sure we’ll go again, but it was definitely amazing 🤩
On July 4th our small city puts on a family festival in the park. I will be manning the kids' bounce house for 3 hours (while working on yet another emotional support chicken)!
Hi Kathleen, Amanda and Jen, Thanks for another enjoyable and inspiring episode (#130). Such a pretty top Kathleen...such a pretty color yarn! We celebrate the 4th of July with a family/neighbor backyard BBQ and attend the town fireworks together! Happy Knitting 🧶 😊! Looking forward to the upcoming youtube sock knit along Ananda!
I'm watching on Canada Day! July 1. You have to have a barbeque. We had burgers for lunch. There are lots of activities for families that include lots of music. We are about to get ready and walk over to the park to watch the fireworks. Because we are far north the fireworks are at 11:00. It is 10:15 and still light out.
Epic episode! So much inspiration, yarn goodness, pattern suggestions and wonderful conversation. I may have even managed to do some online yarn shopping on the Yarnia website during this episode. I LOVE Lisa Chemery,’s a/k/a Froginette, baby patterns and knit them alot. Also love the Beloved bonnet by Tin Can Knits. Will be sitting on my favorite bench in Central Park knitting away on July 4th. Dinner at the park in the evening.
4th of July celebration is usually with family BBQ-ing and fireworks. For baby items: my favorite sweater is the A Simple Baby Pullover by Erica Kempf Broughton; I'm with Amanda on pants-great as "sweatpants" or as an extra layer when going out in the stroller or, depending on the fiber being used in place of a blanket at night.-a favorite is a Berroco pattern-Billie; Also The Tassutellen Baby Booties by RonjaHakalehto=again great for an extra layer in the stroller. And for toddlers and above Balaclavas! And of course enjoyed the podcast!
I have to say I don't tend to do anything on the 4th. When my kids were little we would go to local fireworks- This year I am working and earning extra $$ . Very tempted by the yarn to go. However I generally like to pull from the center so I am conflicted 😂
Thanks for answering my question! I think I will knit the Teddy Bear sweater by petiteknit and the Cumulus blanket would be yummy. For the Fourth of July I always like some barbecued food and try to watch fireworks. Thanks for another informative episode.
Northern Ireland is a funny place for celebration days, it’s split by community and societal divides. For the unionist community the main event is the 12th of July. Bonfires on the 11th, followed by pipe band parades on the 12th; many people choose to leave the country over those dates and kick off their summer holidays. Most businesses here give the 12th as a bank holiday, I usually dedicate the day to working in the garden, however this year I’m off to Scotland to visit family. It’s a little like Boxing Day, many businesses are closed, there are significant road closures and if you’re not attending the parades it’s tricky to get from point A to B.
I just went back to #1 I’m so confused as to Amanda’s family. Kathleen and Jen’s seem pretty easy to follow but Amanda seems to have new children? every episode. Love learning what the shop has and what y’all are up to.
Haha...I have 7 kids who range in age from 23 to 3. It's a lot to keep up with, but we have a fun time! All of them have shown up on the podcast at one point or another...but never all in one episode! ~A🥰
Thaks for the question - since the square mentions Clementine by name, we're going to have to say it's specific to tubes cranked by us. Not necessarily from our yarn though.
We will have a family BBQ with sparklers for the kids. Right now it looks like we will have good weather which is not always the case here in the PNW. Amanda, I liked the "trainer" sock that you showed but did not see the pattern linked and I did not catch the whole name in the podcast. Can you let me know the name of that sock pattern? Happy 4th of July!
Celebrating the 4th with family, grill out and small town fireworks💥 Happy Independence Day!🇺🇸
What a great tradition for the graduating seniors!

Yikes - that would be so stressful!
@@ChroniclesofYarnia yeah, but you kinda get used to it 🫤

Having left NYC for Maine the 4th of July is pretty chill. This year Jaws and a key lime pie! Thanks for the knitting company!
Love your podcast Happy. 4th of J̌July àñd be safe, Walk in Peacè
Great episode. This independence day, I'll be taking a nice long bike ride and then will hang out knitting and watching the fireworks.
Happy 4th to all! I enjoy watching the New York City celebration on T.V, no bugs and great music.
Yes, the no bugs is a big advantage!
The 4th of July includes barbecue, swimming, watching fireworks and spending time with friends and family🎉
I love the newborn and baby vertebrate sweaters
We typically do fireworks with a bunch of people from our church. The guys get really into it 😃
I celebrate in Virginia with my sisters, knitting and getting people to register to vote!
Those are great bags at the end. Amanda, i love your dress! Our pets are never happy about the 4th and our son just started like fireworks. We have them from all the windows at home, and good eats! - Kimberly
I favourited the baby patterns from Florence Merlin on Ravelry and she requested to be my friend. What a lovely community❤
I celebrate by watching a firework display and having a BBQ and of course crocheting
I’m in Canada & we celebrate Canada Day on July 1…we’ll be having a bbq & later watching the fireworks at our provincial park! And, knitting of course😉😄
Watching fireworks that are usually paired with lightning ⚡️🎇
We went to Lake Superior in northern Minnesota and watched the fireworks. It was seriously an amazing experience for us. I’m not sure we’ll go again, but it was definitely amazing 🤩
Knitting of course! And having my parents over for dinner.
I love celebrating the 4th with my family, eat, play board games, and watch the fireworks together!
Hosting and family will be coming to visit me so between good food, playing with yarn and front row fireworks, good times are to be had
My husband and I will be enjoying a quiet holiday by camping by a lake.
This year we will spend the 4TH of July at home watching movies and me knitting 🧶 😊
I celebrate by having a day off from work! Thank you Ladies.
I always watch the fireworks from my porch swing! 🎇🍦🍔
Nice!
Where I live it's pretty cool on July 4th. I have no local family, so I plan to KNIT! I'm perfectly happy with this!
I’m in Canada, and for Canada Day on July 1, we celebrate much like you celebrate Fourth of July- fireworks and BBQs.
Fun episode! Our town in CT has fireworks on the 4th so we plan to go watch! (Knitting in hand!)
This year, I was invited to go boating on a local lake, but it looks like it's going to thunderstorm all day! Maybe a movie instead 🇺🇸
Usually spend the 4th at Put in Bay - walk to one of the best displays over water and not totally overcrowded.
On July 4th our small city puts on a family festival in the park. I will be manning the kids' bounce house for 3 hours (while working on yet another emotional support chicken)!

Wow - the Macy's fireworks started at about 9:30pm here, and people thought that was late! 😊

Lol - yes, we saw that! Thanks for the pattern suggestions!
Hello ladies! I love the Artifacts bags. We’re excited. We’re going to my daughter’s future in-laws’ pool for a barbecue. Happy Fourth!! Karin

Canada Day is July 1. Picnics, concerts and fireworks.

I won 🎉👏🎉👏. Thank you so much! I definitely need the row counter. I will email you my info. Beautiful projects as always. ❤
Yay - congrats again! Hope you're enjoying your goodies!

This year I’ll spend the 4th relaxing at home with family. My son is old enough now that he might like the fireworks so I’ll see how that goes.
Love to bbq with friends, but prefer fireworks at New Years !
My fav baby is “One Baby Sweater” by Erika Flory. It’s all in one piece and so cute.
I sub the increase for YO so it leaves a little eyelet.

I like to celebrate Independence Day by watching PBS Capital Fourth Concert in DC.
Amanda, what is your burgundy project bag? Is that suede? Love it❤️
It's a Joji & Co Mini Santa Cruz bag. I love Joji's bags! I have several and use them all the time. 🙂 ~A🥰
HUDSON RIVER this year for the Macy’s fireworks, fyi. Spending the 4th with family knitting socks.
Thanks - we got to see them from Highland Ave in Montclair thanks to your tip! ~K🧡
We make ice cream on the 4th!

Sock bingo ? Are clementine socks any cranked socks on any yarn or specifically cranked from your yarn?

Sorry about that! It's the Fordingbridge Trainer Socks by Ami Lowden. You'll see them more in upcoming episodes! ~A🥰
Thanks for an interesting podcast again.
