Hi Nintendo I love Pokemon pls don't come after me thx! - Хобби
The way it rolls back forward when it closes seems like one of those wonderful little coincidences that feels too good to be accidental, yet here we are.
Don't you love coincidental physics?
Yes it's so so good
I think you mean, in the wise words of Bob Ross "Happy little accident"
This pokemon is an STEP UP in the world of real life pokéballs since it has a wiggle feature.
AMAZING WORK!
Now make a working pokemon
👀 stick around for a future video that may or may not be in the works haha
. Ooh. Do a porygon!
Just do a chimeco shaped chime. Or a klefky shaped keyring
@@joaomrtinsI would kill for a good model of either of these!!! PS: I’m not a violent person
@@pueohoot543 are they not on thigiverse/printables? I might try doing them... 🤔
As long as I get my hands on a model of the Pokémon themselves.
As a 90s baby who grew up on Indigo, I can not believe what I'm seeing. This is very impressive on so many levels. Thank you for this
do u even know what indigo in other context is?
Dude, I will always respect the ability to design components in blender
i got into engineering during a degree in 3D animation, and im amazed when i hear people taught themselves CAD! even the most intuitive CAD software out there feels strange to me. but blender has some good tools for getting measurements and making it work, if you know where to look for them!
i don't. it's an abomination.
blender is not made for this.
blender is made to make DIGITAL assets.
3d models for games or movies. everything animated.
IT IS NOT CAD SOFTWARE!!!!
It was an impressive project without that, but holy crap, that's like a 100x multiplier, bravo!
Not sure how you design stuff in a blender. All I can make are milkshakes and smoothies. Lol
@@giliant I'm convinced there's a magical set of plugins I'm yet to discover which make it all much easier.
1:33 idea: you can hide the rocker, by making it spin around the circumference of the ball under the inner shell, the weight can be elongated to the shape of the ball or a partial ring or sphere segment. When the ball is closed it won’t matter in the insides are spinning or not.
So an alternate idea is to make the plates on the inside rotate opposite ways or just one spin, and only have one plate actually metal or heavy while the others are a painted light material. The entire half dome inside spinning will off centre the balls weight, causing a wiggle, both sides spinning will be more powerful😮
If you want to avoid the spinning insides, a hidden spinning rail weight would work just as well.
To get a decent internal lighting, using cracked/pin hole fibre optic strands, and an ultra bright LED. That’s if you want any insane inside effect.
This is insane! It wiggles, opens and closes and plays the sound effects all by itself! You made the most feature complete Pokéball and it's awesome.
Technology is incredible!
My inner child is screaming with excitement over a real life Pokeball. This looks SO good!
if you add a Camera Flash to it that triggers when it opens, it would make it even more perfect!.
Congratulations! incredible build!!
As a pokemon nerd for life, my jaw is on the ground and need to own one of these in my day. This is something I never thought I'd see in my lifetime. Absolutely fantastic.
So many RUclipsrs trying to create the perfect PokeBall but I believe you actually did it! The one improvement I would love to see is a hidden barrel hinge instead of an hinge on the outside.
Yeah but its not REAL, if i bought one off her i cant go outside and catch real animals like lions and tigers or elephants in the pokeball so for me its useless. Come back again when somebody creates a REAL one that you can actually catch animals inside of them, then i'll think about buying one.
@@tolgahk84I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or mentally insane.
@@JayDeeIsMyName Actually i am a little bit mentally insane so thanks for noticing 👍
I mean it is pretty weird to call something pretty much impossible irl "real"
i'd say a better looking button
me, after skipping around in the video: "aw well yea, many people made this before, though this one needed some better paint, I dont see why this wa- IT CAN MOVE?!?!?!" and then I was sold, went back and watched. good build. Can't wait to see a 2.0.
Ngl Its the best imitation I've ever seen in my life! 😮
ITS SO FUCKING GOOD
Thats awesome. Its nice to see how much work actually goes into builds like this. Something that seems so simple is quite complex behind the scenes.
if you sold these, id buy one in a heart beat
If they have a masterball, imma buy it 😂
Same!!
How much would you be willing to pay tho?
@@JadedJarvis $100
@@JadedJarvis $200-$300 idc if it’s hella expensive lmao
i literally just watched you build this and i still don't believe it works-
all of that packed into such a tiny ball is insane, what an amazing project and outcome!!!

Finally. A micro servo that can surpass Metal Gear.
I see what you did there
Metal…Gear…?
2nd floor basement?
Psycho mantis?
War's always changing... They just passed an amendment allowing pokemon conscription...
It's not even 1:30 in the morning, and my day's already been made.
This is *_AMAZING._*
This is so cool! You did such a good job with the finishing too, thanks for sharing!
thank you!!
12:33 indeed it looks dope!
Being able to build stuff is so cool.
the pokemon company should hire you , this was soo cool , and sick . seeing it move for the first time was so cool , my childhood was brought back and just inner child was happy , great videooo
The closing is so satisfying and just makes it look waaaay better
This is amazing. would love to see you 3D print small Pokemon to throw the Pokeball at and it could somehow catch them and if it doesnt then a spring in the ball ejects them. That would be super cool :)
I'm amazed Nintendo hasn't done this yet
It'd be a pretty neat toy.
Heck if those premium display Poke Balls were like this, they'd sell like crazy
I guess selling something made of that much metal that weighs that much might be too pricey and prone to causing damages. You just know a dumb kid is gonna conk that not-plastic thing onto a person's or dog's head. In that perspective it might not pass most country's toy safety regulations either. At best you can probably market them to adults, but Pokemon rarely ever pander merch to anything but the upmost impressionable of monkey-brained midgets, AKA children. And even then, a lot of adults can't be expected to be responsible with them either.
they probably had did, but the technology 30 years ago wasn't quite the same, and whether it is back then or now, it would have been a relatively expensive merch
this build isn't even meant to be thrown
(you gotta sell this to kids somehow)
they only know how to make overpriced pokeball toys which don't even open
@@Kensuke0987I'm wondering how much "padding" would be needed for it to be throwable (into grass or carpet probably not a lot needed, onto wood or stone even the outside probably needs to be absorbent too, probably not a lot of materials that could be used for this and that would look right)
@@Rerbun probably not padding. it just has to be made of a durable construction and material. 3D-printing might not be the way; it has to be plastic injection molding - this is what they use to make modern billiard balls. the hinge and the electronics housing should have really tight tolerances too so that they don't wear down from all the jostling and also be provided some water-resistance.
I can clearly see this being the concise blue print of future creation of more fully advanced pokeballs! You guys will become legends! 😎
Out of all the DIY pokeballs this is definitely the best one
Do you sell?
I want buy
Sorry its not a working pokeball until you catch a pokemon in it. Or a small animal, I'll accept a mouse inside :P (Seriously tho great job)
No offence but when I was reading this you sound like a passive aggressive karen
AGREED!!!! Where’s my Pokémon???!!! 😂❤ (awesome job)
a caterpillar or a rock i think would be fair game too
I will go with a talking meowth, you know like a talking cat Pokemon because I like cats to talk to people and animals
The poke ball sound effects from season one in the anime had the best pokeball sound effects
Great work!
I really agree, that the closing of the pokeball kinda feels to be the most satisfying part of the entire sequence. I kinda have the feeling it's because usually you only see the opening, so the brain is already done, and then the ball is like: "Surprise! I'm closing and ready to go for the next toss."
I kinda wanna see a second function so when the ball is tossed, it opens up and a self inflating pokemon pops out or something. xD
I think once there was ever a scale on scale production of live action Pokémon, they should have you design their Pokeballs!
Random fact: most depictions depict Pokeballs as having a digital dimension that serves as an ideal environment for the pokemon in question. They also show the balls as having non-transparent lids, which has left to an occasional joke about "the wrong pokeball", be it in the anime or by the fandom.
The Pokemon Special/Pokemon Adventures manga, however, makes the lids semi-teansparent so it shows ehat pokemon is currently in the ball, or if the ball is empty. It also makes the apricorn based pokeballs more gimmicky than they already were conpared to modern ones by requiring you to hit a specific spot on a given pokemon for the apricorn ones to work.
The manga also had Rival Silver be the only one of the Johto protagonists that throws their ball normally (Gold uses a pool cue to launch his, and Crystal kicks hers at her targets).
there has been no Pokeball that depicts them as having a dimension, the pokemon just shrink, which is a terrible retcon by Legends Arceus
@@theamazingspooderman2697 looks like somebody has not looked at supplementary material...
Or, for that matter, the item's cameo are n smash bros back when the series had trophies. In Melee, Brawl and Smash 4, the pokeball's trophy descriptions specifically mentions having what I described, and Sakurai was generally pretty diligent about making sure the info was accurate, if spoilery.
And I agree, the bit where they shrink was a retcon. However, it did not debut in Legends Arceus, it debuted in the Pokemon Adventures Manga, towards the end of the RGB arc.
Next time, look a little harder kiddo.
@@theamazingspooderman2697bros just saying shi
This reminds me of the pokeball game that you like captured the Pokemon by getting all the leds to light up I believe 😂 it was awesome!
the button needs to be on the upper lid but good job overall
Was looking to see if someone pointed it out
Buttons are on the bottom lid on the back of Pokemon cards, so its technically not incorrect
@@KovoN only on the American cards and the very old Japanese cards, it seems to be a design error that was copied over but never fixed on American cards like it was on Japanese
not on pokemon cards 😏
@@KovoN Damn I'll never un-see that
The snap sound when it closes is super satisfying
For future variants:
Using a QtPy running MicroPython may work a bit nicer for this project.
The QtPy (especially when paired with an additional memory chip, also sold by adafruit) should have enough memory for small audio files. This removes the need for the SD Card, at least, and should allow you to save space from the sd card module and wiring.
You can replace the servos with microservos, or even small stepper motors (although the stepper drivers may take up some extra space, but shouldn’t take any more than the servos do)
Alternately: because your inner layer is nice and thick, you may be able to get away with a stepper motor based gyroscope (potential for stabilizing in midair throws? Or for rolling autonomously?). Or a spring resist solenoid.
How amazing. The best part is actually the part that opens and closes by itself. The inside is very beautiful. The only thing I would change is the shade of red, I think it should be lighter.
I’m not a Pokémon fan but this is seriously impressive
Then become one lol

This was so much more then what I was expecting when I clicked the video. Beautiful!
give this girl her subs, if this is not the universal reason to subscribe to her channel, idk what is
now you just need an unintentional mutation and you will have a working voltorb
For the next iteration; you could probably hide the weight in the top half if you used some sort of pulley system to slide it back and forth. Assuming you want to make a second version, and assuming you want the inside to be as clean looking as the outside is.
How you're gonna get the ball to shrink and grow like in the show however, I have no idea :D (not to mention catch living beings)
Robot origami pokemon =D
This project came out so beautiful! It's so satisfying seeing the shake, opening and closing along with the sound. I love playing Pokemon games so seeing this Pokeball come to life looks great.
The fact that ive been modeling pokeballs all week in Nomad and Blender.....this is awesome lol
The algorithm has gifted me one of your masterpieces :D
Girl you are such an inspiration! Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to make cool stuff, but I gave up on my hopes and dreams because so much stuff happened and it became unbearable... To prevent myself from more self harm and not wanting to live anymore, I just deal with health now and finding a job, but I feel like my inner child can live through these creations. You got yourself a new sub.
You can do it!! Keep following your dreams and stay alive 😊
Why do so many people trauma dump in the comments on RUclips
@@redmatzoo3280 because it's proven that it's easier to vent to strangers and especially anonymous than to people you know and know you.
a lot unnecessary info ngl
I did enjoy the video very much and I absolutely love it I don’t think anyone could’ve done it better
Such a cool project!!
all the hard work was definitely worth it!! you have definitely inspired the crap outta me!! thank you
This…is absolutley AMAZING!!
Yay! Now you can play catch with it.
That is absolutely awesome. Well done and congrats. I fear for the person who figures out how to shrink something and pull it into the ball then it comes back out regular size again... they might disappear suddenly
That's a good point. It is scary to think that the military or whatever could just kidnap you for their own purpose.
@angrybudgie96 sadly with the last 100 years as a reference it would be naive to believe technology like that wouldn't be kept under lock and key and used in the worst possible ways. As much as I would love to witness that being created and what awesome things could come from it, mankind in general doesn't need that technology lol
I really enjoyed the video. The detail explaination while doing it was amazing and the only thing I see differently is the button being on the bottom side instead of the top. And I only know this cause of a previous RUclips short I just saw about Pokemon cards being printed wrong for years and they're finally fixing it
you’re so cool tbh. love the lore
I just wish that you made the shrinking aspect, but by far the best pokeball diy I’ve seen
Jeez, here I thought I made a realistic Pokeball lol. Very cool, the sparkly red is nice!
My favorite part of the Pokeball growing up was how they were small and expanded to full size when you clicked them. You should try to somehow make that lol.
I’m not a Pokémon fan but this is seriously impressive
Amazing built!!! Is there a way to make the light turn red when "catching a Pokémon"?
you’d have to put like a neopixel or some sort of addressable rgb led in the button! not impossible, but I liked the brightness of the one I bought for this project so I didn’t wanna replace it. unfortunately it wasn’t addressable but I was okay with the trade off
This is probably the coolest thing, like, ever. And if I could, I would spend all the money I will ever make for one
This is insane!!!
You are amazing. I never imagined seeing a real life working Poke freaking ball
Turned out great! If you ever want to make one you can actually throw, just paint a solid 3D printed one and swap it out for the functional one if you're doing any close-up shots
It's the best one I've seen so far!
The only features left that are possible to make it have in a near future (I THINK) are the ability to throw them without destroying them (at least when it hits the grass or soil) and some sort of light that comes out of it.
I don't think it is possible to make it go small and big again with one button, but the hardest part would be to find a real pokemon to test if it works 😂
Now you just gotta make five more to carry around, and make several interchangeable top plates for all the different variations of Pokéballs, and you're all set!
Really cool. I can imagine this channel inspiring kids to want to be engineers.
omg the GLEE I felt at the first successful mechanical test, just seeing the thing move the way it's supposed to! This is so damn cool.
Also, love the editing! The "Test, test test" bit in particular was *chef's kiss*
There are 2 more Pokeball mechanics that can be added for a version 2: the Critical Capture, where the Pokeball vigorously shakes and usually instantly catches the Pokemon, and the other is Returning the Pokemon, where a beam of light is projected towards the Pokemon by just holding up the Pokeball.
Wow, it came out super well! It's obvious you put a lot of time and effort into this project. Very impressive job.
in theory now that you have the inner working sorted and working, you could make alternate shells for it as well and have different pokeball types. Good job on the project!
Please make the light button red :(
It's amazing project! Thank you for making my childhood imagination more real
Awesome work😍 I don't know if it was already suggested, but now you could insert a holographic system that shows a random Pokemon everytime the catch doesn't end well!
So freaking awesome!
Maybe if it's possible to use different colors LED you can use red for the blinking and yellow when it's successful.
Also like someone said maybe some sort of bright flash inside the ball for both fail (more visible) or even on a success (you'll see it through the middle as some sort of pressure release)
If this got mass produced I'm 100% sure it will sell like crazy.
I'd love to have one of these. Amazing. I initially thought you will catch something in it or have a hologram projected.
I saw this video expecting something like the pokemon plastic balls you get at Walmart but this was really really cool id buy one of these
It's really impressive! The light should be red if it's in the shaking phase, then white when success.
Wow thats bloody amazing, incredible work, in the Pokemon Universe you would be a PokeBall maker/designer for sure, I love it! I want one! 😁👌💯
Add sensors to detect collision when you throw it to start the catching process! Sick project!
The bouncing with the hand because you dont want to actually throw it sold me. I want one.
Great to hear someone actually know the shrinking lore’
Be proud of your creation
This is the coolest recreation ever!
Suggestion for asthetics: add a super bright led light insinde. Great build!!
12:46
Whatever Pokémon is like:
“LOL! Smell ya never!”
very smart idea!
I'm sure that this could sell well as a toy, maybe with a rubber external shield so that it's robust enough to be thrown.
An maybe the sound could be updated with the game on the smartphone depending from the pokemon you have captured.
Impressive! Looking for the follow-up when you add the shrinking ray
Wow, looks amazing!!! Should make the outside out of plastic like a rubber ball so you can throw 😁
I think flash lights inside the ball once it about opens the sensor activate them like the cartoon does with lighting of the ball
I've wanted this my entire life. It's beautiful. 😭
Daaaaaang this is so freaking cool! :D
Now all you need is a clip at the back of the ball so you can actually carry it on your belt.
What a great project! Though the button is supposed to attach to the top half of the ball. Except for the ones on the back of the trading cards for some reason
This makes my heart happy on so many levels.
That's amazing! We've all wanted to use these as kids!
Great job.
12:58 now just take the original idea of Pokémon and put a small cute bug like a Moth or butterfly inside because there is room inside it and the bug will be fine. When it fails the butterfly or an insect of your choosing will fly or crawl away from it
10:20 was the moment when she used her domain expansion, infinite void.
It's crazy how this is better than any official product
This looks really amazing!!
My only pet peeve is that I think the 'caught' sound from the anime would have felt more realistic compared to the games jingle, but this is a great project either way!
if you gave me a year and a team i couldn't have made something that looked that good. You're very skilled!
Awesome! Can't wait to buy one so I can go to Florida and try to catch ah Krookodile 😂
