Tamil people from border districts now can stay inside TN and move to Bengaluru with affordable metro. This has the potential to reduce overall traffic loading over road connecting Hosur & Bengaluru. Also this will fasten Hosur getting expanded and made twin city of Bengaluru in longer run. I believe the govt's are taking the right step forward by this metro extension.

When did Bangalore have sizable Kannada speaking population, it just had passmark Kannada Population even during independence. Tamil people from border districts now can stay inside TN and move to Bengaluru with affordable metro. This has the potential to reduce overall traffic loading over road connecting Hosur & Bengaluru. Also this will fasten Hosur getting expanded and made twin city of Bengaluru in longer run. I believe the govt's are taking the right step forward by this metro extension.

But when southern part gets an interstate metro connection similar to Delhi-NCR, many people, not all, from southern region oppose it.
Bangalore is congested, so rather than investing on infrastructure like metro or RRTS which can be a great boon to the people of Bangalore, the Karnataka government is busy in distributing freebies, such as free bus rides, & see the condition of KSRTC.

When did Bangalore have sizable Kannada speaking population, it just had passmark Kannada Population even during independence. Even when Kempegowdaru found Bengaluru, It had sizable native Tamil and Telugu Population. The signboards were in Tamil during British Raj. This Kannada surge is is post Independence. Technically Kannadigas are immigrants to Bangalore from other parts of Karnataka and they have Audacity to make people speak only in Kannada for people have lived there for generations. It can work the other way around too. People can work travel to both states easily. Hosur should be developed fast to catch up to bangalore to reduce its burden. Current bangalore is too congested.

The Metro to Hosur should go through. Many people from Bangalore work in Bangalore and stay at Hosur due to lower Rents for housing. Right upto Krishnagiri has a very very sizable population of Kannada Speaking Citizens.

I'm worried about water, Hosur already in water crisis. What if they want Cauvery water to hosur and they connect water from Cauvery basin . Water flows to two cities Bangalore and Hosur. It's not like Metro is going to bring a new set of workers, the ones who travel to BLR by cars, bikes and busses will switch to Metro and reduce traffic on roads.
Most of Hosur property is owned by Telugu Reddies and Kannada Gowdas and labourers are from North. Tamil people benefit less from Hosur compared to them.
Shouldn't it be opposite? If people can travel from Hosur to Bengaluru, they are less likely to stay on a rent in Bengaluru. Is that not what Kannada language warriors want? Unless they are themselves involved in rent seeking and are fearful of people spreading out of Bengaluru reducing their rents.
