You are both great teachers. This lesson is so useful to me. Sometimes I go out to eat, but it is very hard to order or ask for something. Thank you so much!
We’re really glad that you found it useful! We use these phrases every day and now you can feel more confident out at restaurants 😄
Thank you two. Your lesson is exciting!

Super thanks Kat & Mark. I live in the US but am still struggling with speaking. Thanks to your video, I’ve been learning a lot. Really appreciate! ❤
That's so great! Thanks so much for studying with us, we're glad our channel has been helpful!
I love your lessons so much. I listen them (or watch) everywhere! I have a question; what's the difference between "can I get some..." and "can I have some..."? Thanks in advance
Thanks so much for your lovely comment! :)
In regards to your question, both phrases are correct and appropriate. I would use the question especially if I want some extra things, like napkins, bread, sauce, chopsticks and so on.
"Can I get some more napkins?" = "Can I have some more napkins?"
"Can I get some more bread?" = "Can I have some more bread?"
Hope that makes sense! :)

💃🏾 I woke up and I have seen this episode. Such a good day ❤
We’re so glad that you enjoyed it! 🤩
Thank you so much for your teaching style, but I need native Americans speaking about reduced words.
Enjoy your time.
You're in luck! We've made videos about exactly that! ruclips.net/video/ZSNL4Mbgew8/видео.html Check out this series of "Season 1 Review #1: Small Talk Dialogues and Practice"
Both of you are such great teachers. I do like this channel and all of the episodes are useful for my learning journey. Thanks a million for incredible lessons.
Wow that's so nice of you to say! We're really glad you found our classes useful!
Fantastic work. If possible, I would like to suggest pointing out the different pronunciation between P and B in words and sentences.
With P, you’ll only feel air coming out, you can put a small piece of paper in front of your mouth and see it move.
With B, you’ll feel a vibration in your throat, and you won’t move the paper.
For more research you can look up voiced and voiceless sounds, hope that helps!
This is a very useful one ❤❤
My favourite questions : could i swap the fries for salad ?
Would you mind wiping down the table?
Are there any tables free?
Could i take this to go?
We're waiting on two more people.
Could we get an extra seat please?
Could i have this dish without onions?
Do you have a kids menu?
Could we have a table by the window?
are there any lunch specials?
What's on the pizza?
What's in this dish?
What is in the sampler platter ?
Can we get some bread to start?
How spicy is it?
I'm full to order anything else, thanks .
❤❤
That's too much to be learnt 💓
Wow fantastic list!
Thanks!
Hi Ken! Really happy to have you here this morning, thanks so much for your kindness and generosity ☺️ have a wonderful day!
Indeed, very helpful, I appreciate if you can include a kind of picture during your conversation. It supports us to understand new words. 🎉
Interesting idea - we will think about it for future videos!
it's clear now .thanks
Great!
Good bless you, I really enjoyed it and also useful for me thanks for both of you
So glad to hear that! Thanks so much for joining us
As always big thumbs up 👍 from Austin texas❤,thank you Mr mark ❤❤❤❤and ms kat❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for joining us! Kat is originally from Houston, Texas so welcome!
Thanks a lot for useful episode. I'm still wondering if there is the difference of "Could I GET~" and "Could I HAVE~"
We use "get" a lot in English, it's a very common casual word that has lots of different meanings but in this case: "could I get..." and "could I have..." mean the same thing when ordering food!
Another great lesson
Thanks so much for joining us! 😃
Thanks from Drc Kinshasa ❤

Hi Sophie! We mostly have videos around conversation but perhaps a good video on discussing the news would be helpful when talking to friends. Thanks for joining us!
Thanks a lot my teachers ❤️❤️
Today also I learned more useful phrases
My favorite one is
What does the burger come with?
Because I'm pollotarian😁😁
Glad you liked it!
If you want to know the ingredients of the burger: what’s in the burger?
If you want to know the sides (salad, fries, potatoes) what comes with the burger
It’s a great way to get more info about the dish especially if you only eat certain foods ☺️
Thank you🙆🏻🙆🏻🙆🏻
Can I have the menú for your next podcast please?
😉😉😉 here you are, we’ll see you soon for a brand new video
Wow! You did good job. I could have a table in Savoy.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome
Thank you!
Thanks so much for studying with us today!
Очень очень нужные фразы. ☀️☀️☀️
It's true! We use them all the time in English!
I loved the question
what does your snack come with ?
It really helps! Thanks for watching!
You're both beautiful(هەردوکتان جوان)🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
😌😌😌 you are so kind thank you
Teacher Mark, you looking awesome with red tshirt.❤
Thanks so much! 🎈
Hi. Could i.....? Can i.....? What's the difference? And when to use both? Thanks a lot.
Can I… ability is yes or no right now
Could we often use in the future and it gives people more of a choice
Could is considered more polite in English than can so it’s helpful to use it with workers and servers!
Hi, thank you for this lesson.
I have a question.
What is different “wait on” and “wait for”? In which situations we should use each?
I thought that if some is late, I am waiting FOR them. Is it not correct?
Thank you:)
Very good question!
- Wait for:
This phrase is used when you are staying in one place because you expect something to happen or someone to arrive.
"I am waiting for the bus." (You are expecting the bus to arrive.)
"If someone is late, I am waiting for them." (You are staying because you expect the person to arrive.)
So in your sentence, "I am waiting for them" is correct if you are expecting someone to arrive.
- Wait on:
This phrase can mean to serve someone, especially in a restaurant or similar setting.
"The waiter is waiting on the customers." (The waiter is serving the customers.)
*AND* It can also mean to be delayed or to be waiting for something to happen before you can proceed.
"I am waiting on the test results before making a decision." (You need the test results first before you can make a decision.)
"We're still waiting on two people." (We need 2 more people before we can order food and start our meal)
I hope this helps! 😊
@@highlevellistening Thank you! I got it!
❤❤
🤩🤩
I suggest you ask & answer at the same time .And it would be better if you give more than one answer.thanks a bunch
Hi good morning! Most of the time the answers come from the servers or wait staff at the restaurant, and a lot of the answers would be “yes, of course”! But hopefully we will do some practice dialogues soon.
سلام وقتتون بخیر ممنونم خیلی عالی بودلطفاهمزمان باسوالات پاسخش هم بدیدباتشکر
Thanks! We'll do some more videos with dialogues in the future with both questions and responses :) Keep practicing!
I love that. But why is the answer under de name ? For a reservation at the table ?
So glad you enjoyed it!
Yes, if you say: "We have a reservation [under the name 'Mark']."
It means: "My reservation is for Mark." or "Mark made a reservation earlier."
Dan arrives at the restaurant: "Hi, I have a reservation under the name 'Dan'."
Maria arrives at the restaurant: "Hi, I have a reservation under the name 'Maria'."
I hope that makes sense!
1. Could I have a sauce on the side please?
2. Could we get another round drinks please?
For me, these two are new. Thank you for your wonderful job.
Thank you so much for your hard work! I'm glad you liked the new sentences!
Thanks a lot teachers! I have a question
My daughter lives in Dallas and when she orders at the restaurant she always says “ I’ll have … a salad or something else
Is it right ? Can we order like that without saying “ could I have a….
Thanks for your answer
Yes absolutely! Could I get a… and I’ll have a… I’ll take a… I’ll get a… are commonly used to order ✅✅✅
Thanks ! Have a nice day
Please tell me is there episodes about “at the airport and at the hotel?” 🎉
Not yet! But those would be some great topics! ☺️
Hi. " is there a wait for a table. " sounds like you drop the "t"? If it is? When should we drop the "t"? Thanks.
It’s true! It’s pretty common to drop the t at the end of words.
I can’t go.
I don’t want that. (3 words!) it’s very light
11:07 Haha, her face 😂😂😂... Next time, I want him to say "a bottle of water."😬
Baw-uhl o’ wah’uh 😂😂😂 always practicing at High Level Listening!
For me new was " sampler platter".
In the question "do you have a drinks menu" why is used " a" before plural form?
Drinks is this case is an adjective for what kind of menu: a drink menu or a drinks menu
A dessert menu or a desserts menu hope that helps! Thanks for sharing your comment!
@@highlevellistening thanks for answering. Yes , I was thinking that would be a case , though it is confusing somehow anyways :-) that's why asked. Thanks!
Could we get some waters for the tables please?
1. Waters?
2. You mean that servers should take some bottles of water from the table?
In the United States it’s very common to get free glasses of water or like you mentioned bottles of water for each person.
Waters for the table: separate glasses or bottles
Water for the table: maybe a pitcher or jar to share
Thanks for asking great questions :)
Thank you so much but in myside i can't to speak
Keep practicing and mimicking after us, it will get easier and easier, keep up the good work!
My favorite phrases are "What does something come with?" and "I have a reservation for six under the last name, Mark."
Great! Those are very useful phrases when eating out at a restaurant. Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for practicing with us today!
good morning; why should we use the plural for WATER then it's uncountable water 's)
Great question thanks for asking!
It’s very common to get glasses of
water at a restaurant and when ordering in spoken English we often say “can I get a water please, can we get two waters please” for separate glasses of water
“Water for the table” would probably mean a jug or pitcher of water to share
🎉🎉
☀️☀️☀️
🎉
Thanks for joining us!
We are waiting on two more people. Could we use -We are waiting for two more people? Thanks❤
Yes! Waiting on and waiting for would be the same here ☺️
Thank you so much
