  • Had this kit in the stash for several years and always put off building.
It is a great kit to build, possibly the best 1/72 scale P-38 out there ?
I had to get my thinking cap on before tackling some of the build and it actually took me 2 days more to build than it normally would to build a model.
I enjoyed it though.. It turned out great
Motors used were 8mmx4mm with a 0.7mm shaft, and bought on ebay...Just do a search for Micro Motors if your interested in doing a similar model.

With the Wires to the Motors so small in diameter, you could have run them down the backsides of the Landing Gear Struts to make them look like Brake Lines and into the Tire assembly through the bottom of it to easily hid it into a Base or something.
NICE BUILD and Thanks for sharing this with us.
Hope you are doing Well and look forward for your next build.

Lovely build and finish Mike, I love the way that you install those tiny motors, you've certainly given me an idea with some of my 1/72 aircraft stash....keep your great videos coming......

I like Academy Models but find the decals don't respond to setting solutions that should make them conform to the panel lines. Nice build by the way.

      Thanks very much 👍
Yeh I have had problems in the past with them...They sometimes seem to be a little to thick I found..But on the whole I like the kits too
