"Hey Frank, how bright do we make the light loop this year?" "THE SUN" incidentally, I'm absolutely satisfied with my i7 16GB 3080ti 165hz 1TB model. I mean, yes, the battery did seppuku within a few days of it arriving... and yes, it took Dell almost a month to get the replacement/technician out... and yes, in the end they didn't even send a technician and just mailed the battery right to me and had the technician just FaceTime me to "walk me through the process"... but I mean... once it got working again I'm absolutely thrilled with what I got for my money.
Happy to see high brightness on a 1080p 360hz panel. They used to barely hit 300 nits just a year ago. I just got one in with the 4k panel. It’s awesome so far.
Is 4K usable on the 17" without scaling or do you find you always have to run a good amount of scaling? I'm trying to decide between the 1080p or 4K versions.
@@CosmicApe I’m a little late with my comment but most games run at 4K on pretty much high end settings. I recommend the 4K. The only game that I can’t run in 4K is Minecraft with heavy mods lol.
I've always liked Alienware laptops except for the drivers, for some reason they seem to customize every driver so that you can't install the standard version you have to wait for them to produce a new version which is a total pita, especially if an update happens automatically which can really screw up your system - this happened to me with my R17 a year ago and eventually they refunded it. There were also issues with their customer support which is almost as bad as Starlink's (which is awful), I had at least 6 different people look at my Alienware problem, none of them seemed to have read what the preceding support people had done and I got the same questions and requests to "try this and let me know what happens", but when I sent the reply it got picked up by a different person and off we went again. Very frustrating and very annoying.
Same problem with other dells like my XPS. My audio driver/software hasn't functioned correctly in almost a year. Tried uninstalling, downgrading, etc. ... never again, Dell - or should I say, never Dell again.
I had an Alienware with a 17 inch screen years ago. A new version of windows came out and they never updated the drivers so I couldn't upgrade. It was frustrating given how exe the laptop was that the wouldn't support it for more than a few years. Since then I've steered well clear of the brand,

Dell QC and Dell is probably the worst part about this computer
gamers nexus agrees
@@bradhaines3142 GN only focuses on the pre built desktops not the laptops which is honestly alienware at its best compared to the shit desktops
At least their laptops are far better than their awful desktops
@@A_Man_Of_Culture_ except Alienware is still the same company managed by the same people, and they're even getting sued over the area 51m
I wonder if the pandemic has caused them not to have the light up touchpad anymore ?
720p camera $4000 XD

Sad, it looks so gross. Can be made thicker if needed for cooling, but this bezel making already short (due to the back exhaust) display even shorter, and branding under it makes bezel even more distracting and “in your face”. Alien logos have no meaning, fonts are poorly readable, and giant 17 is not even compatible with space theme - more NASCAR... And why honeycomb pattern on grills, alien racing bees? Extra keys make layout unusual and awkward for typing, very narrow touchpad has to be moved to the left and why unnecessary lighting (ever had trouble finding glass surface?)
White surfaces may become yellowish or look dirty, similarly black soft touch plastic is magnet for fingerprints.
At least the charger isn’t oversized like Lenovos. Stupid lighting though, grills everywhere, upside down mobo is another great feature… year after year someone is paid for this monstrosity in several colours and sizes
The only thing gross here is you iq test
lets speak honestly, alienware sucks.... I have spend 3K USD for this laptop and I was disappointed too much when i have turned it on and heard "KHHHHHHH-PHHHUHHH" from the loudspeakers.... And one dead pixel on the display. Next time I will not trust Alienware anymore. It suks. This was the last Alienware i have owned. Looks like they do not give a shit on their customers anymore. Alienware is finished for me..
Meh. Intel + Alienware + 17 inch. This might be the product I am least likely to buy in the history of this channel. Well, apart from anything apple.
