Excellent instruction Aimee. The motion is effortless but that will achieve maximum control and distance due to proper balance and letting the club swing freely on plane and in partnership with the body.
Beginner here. Awesome advice, im going to try it now. The most productive drill i have done in my very short time playing, is recording myself at the range. 3-5 swings, then go check the tape. 3-5 more & take another look. Until i was making progress & feeling more comfortable. Then maybe 10 swings & go take a look. It may seem vain & obnoxious but who cares. We just want to hit the ball a country mile & as straight as the crow fly. Cute fit too.
I have had numerous lesson however I have learned more from your video lessons. You have a real knack for connecting with your audience. Thank you so very much!!! Bill Heggen , Austin, TX
Very helpful lesson Aimee. I use a lot of upper body for downswing that causes over the top, fat and thin shots. After watching this video now I am using my thigh a lot to swing the club. I hardly chunk my shots now. Thanks Aimee
Ng Sam absolutely! I should have payed better attention to her lead thigh 4 years ago. Today focusing on my lead thigh during my swing has never been better. Cheers
Hi Aimee I should of payed more attention to your lead thigh 3 years ago. I now know how important my own lead thigh is to my entire swinging of the club. Simply put the lateral muscles of the lead side rotates downward and inward to the top of my swing and on my transitional downswing the lateral muscles of my lead thigh must then rotate outward straightening out my lead leg while I simply allow my hands and arms to fall into the slot and swing the club head through the ball to a perfect finish every single time. At 73 you woke up the champion in me! ❤️👍😃👌
Love the tip about putting the butt of the club on the wall to exaggerate the feeling of what muscles to use in hips and trunk! Best explanation of this I've ever seen. Your videos are really helping my swing! thank you!
I’ve been playing golf for over 40 years and Aimee is the only one to properly teach these golf basics with instinctively understandable visuals and drills. Thank you! Btw it doesn’t hurt that you’re visually pleasing to the eye :)
Thank you Aimee for posting these golf swing lessons - they are by far some of the best on RUclips! You explain basic swing concepts very well, add many practical checkpoints and drills and point out the "wrong ways" too. I use your videos to reinforce what my local pro tries to get me to do. Would you be able to use a super slow motion video of your iron and driver swings at full speed? Thx!
Sorry to hear that you retired from the tour due to injuries before. Maybe you should give it a shot still. After all, you are very young. I think that you are in southern California, but we are not. Perhaps next summer if we visit southern California I can book your sessions or junior camps for my 8-year-old for a week or two. Keep up the good works, and thank you for sharing your experiences!
HI Aimee. Thank you very much for the tips. Very unique tips and extremely helpful. I just started playing golf and your lessons have been a great help.
Aimee----- I am playing in the World am handicap tournament this august in Myrtle beach. I have been practicing your lessons every day! Only problem ---i am 60 years old but have been waiting decades for time to play more golf!!!!! I am retired now and will get back to you with the results. OH YES, you are beautiful but i am not going to get into that. Your lessons are a great Inspiration for me. Thank you Aimee.
great tip! I need to try this the next time i go to the range. I 've been initiating my swing with upper body and I think that's why my swing is always over the top.
Been following for 3 years now.. my first Aimee golf video! Wow, who else breaks it down so good? Initiate proper down swing uncoil sequence with the lower body: Too much arm and u cast, too much upper body & u come over the top.. boom.. btw are men more prone to rely on upper body to generate swing speed than women due to physiology?
Thanks for introducing so invaluable drills here for amateur golfers. I love you the way presenting and describing your knowledge on golf swings. It is simple, but it works!
Hi Aimee. Nice lessons. They're helpful. I'm trying to get a better swing and mentality to win competitions and maybe even get professional. You're really helpful for that road to get a better swing! Thanks
Both drills are great. The home one is really hard but am finally getting the muscle memory down. What do you recommend for the arm bend and grip pressure? I feel like my shoulders are very tight as I uncoil. P.S: Sorry for jerks who keep commenting on your looks. You're an amazing teacher
Thank you Aimee! I have had a problem posting on the left foot ever since I starting golfing. I can hit an occasional drive around 295 to 300 but my swing looks horrible. After I hit the ball both of my legs are flat, then after contact my body shifts to the left. I have tried everything to fix this but I will definitely try these tips. Thanks again.
I have been struggling to start the order of my downswing with my hips & using upper body strength. Definitely will use the wall drill to before I return to the range. Thank you for these drills!
Hi Amiee! It's one of us guys who would love to play a round with you! You style of teaching is a good way for anyone looking to improve their golf swing and their score! Come play at Hillcrest in Durango!
As for myself, to get the feeling of using my legs and hips to start the downswing, I feel as though the club and my arms are still 'up' and 'back' (essentially the position at the top of the swing, not 'dropping down'). The actual 'letting the club and arms drop' is actually caused by the legs and hips, not by the arms in effect. Love that wall tip btw.
As a player that suffers with using to much upper body in the downswing transition which causes an over the top swing i am really looking forward to trying out this wall drill as i really feel that it will benefit my game. Thank you for sharing this tip and explaining it in simple terms
Hi Aimee Thanks Alot for your very good video's. I have just started playing golf and this will help alot. Good explanation and drills . Keep up the great work :)
Another great, helpful video by a gifted teacher. One question: You don't say anything about initiating the downswing by shifting the left knee to the left as the first move, followed by shifting the hips laterally to the left? Does this mean that you do not subscribe to this method of initiating the downswing? Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. PS: A slow-motion video of you executing the proper sequence of the transition to the downswing would be very helpful. It would show very clearly, the correct way of initiating the downswing.
+Gerald Tan Thanks Gerald. I have done similar drills using the left knee to initiate the lateral movement. However, there are too many amateurs using the left knee the wrong way.. so I didn't want to emphasize on that move that's all!
Always good to go back over the essentials/basics. great lesson; shorts are stunning, like the rest of you and your lessons. Is it possible to slo mo some of the key move like transition, if there is a backdrop reference of vertical lines showing your lateral movement, and overhead to help understand the rotation please.
Hi Aimee. Can you emphasis more about initiating using lower part? Does the arm travel just based on the pull from lower part OR once the lower part fires, a player need to add speed to the hand as well? And what is the snap?
Hi, Aimee: I just discovered your instructional videos and I plan on incorporating your power down swing drill at the gym soon. Having played today it was an up and down day due to my inability to correct my early extension. Any plans on a video for us high handicap to help with this common problem? Larry - San Diego
If you watch carefully pro's will start their lower transition while their arms and shoulders are still turning back. Weight transfer begins or is neutral when the club is parallel with the ground in the back swing, (that's right, amazing isn't it"). Think about it, you only have 1/4 second from transition to impact. Your weight transfer is 60% on the left side when the arms are starting down.
Great lesson!! Thank you...but why don't lessons refer to forward leg and back/hind leg understanding that some lefties play golf as well? Right handed golfers would not be negatively impacted....just a thought
How do these power down tips work with your other swing video in which speed is generated from the right hand throwing clubhead at the ball? I think u contrasted throwing vs pulling action in other video (better to throw), however, with this drill it would seem to be more appropriate to use a pulling action going along with the stored power keys.
+A A People will relate & click with different words and drills. I would suggest trying different drills to find your own words/feelings that work for you!
Compelling observations on the swing to lower one's score, enhanced by your enchanting style and beauty. Dom Perignon cheers to celebrate on 19th fairway terrace.
Hey Aimee! Commented on one of your other videos. Pretty specific question but this was one of the things I've been struggling with. I initially transfer my weight pretty well to my left foot (if my timing is good) but I feel like I don't really clear my hips and put a lot of pressure on my back and my pelvis shifts a bit forward. The ball striking is good but it causes me to play a cut. Will definitely do these drills so appreciate the video! Any tips on strengthening the core and lower body for more power?
Aimee your lessons are always informative while keeping it simple and you always look stunning which is a added bonus
Just in love with Aimee!! You are the best golf instructor on RUclips!!
I have never paid more attention to golf lesson, I think I'm in love!!
Nice tip. Those little shorts are fantastic!
Your tips are always so well explained and demonstrated. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!
of all your golf swing lessons, this is the most clear lesson i got from you aimee.. thanks a lot!
This is a great video and your drills are awesome. I started doing your wall drill and its one of the best I have seen in youtube. Thank you Aimee.
Most probably the only instruction video that any amateur needs , nice one Aimee😎⛳️🏆
Excellent instruction Aimee. The motion is effortless but that will achieve maximum control and distance due to proper balance and letting the club swing freely on plane and in partnership with the body.
i've been trying all kinds of winter drills around the house but this is the one i have been missing! thanks!

One of the best explanations of the downswing move that I have seen. Drills are excellent as well. Good work!
Very helpful lesson Aimee. I use a lot of upper body for downswing that causes over the top, fat and thin shots. After watching this video now I am using my thigh a lot to swing the club. I hardly chunk my shots now. Thanks Aimee

Thanks Aimee you have been extremely helpful, keep up the great work. Ive been playing for a year now and you have helped a lot.
Astonishing! Aimee the way you move your body is like poetry in motion. Thank God for stableford!

hi aimee.your clear explanation of the driver swing has helped me enormously to achieve a better
drive off the tee,thankyou. TK
You describe errors in starting the downswing better than most instructors. Will try the wall exercise. Thanks
Love the tip about putting the butt of the club on the wall to exaggerate the feeling of what muscles to use in hips and trunk! Best explanation of this I've ever seen. Your videos are really helping my swing! thank you!

AWESOME explanation and examples of transition. Well done Aimee!

I have struggled with loosing my wrist cock prior to hitting the ball, I will try your drills, thanks

I have not seen that before, great tip as I am really trying to get my lower body to engage.

Just brilliant drills. Great communicator.
Beautiful and very helpful.
Awesome tip Aimee! Lost some power in my swing, but now I know. Thanks again! Btw, no filter needed in the videos too!! Amazing.... 😜
Lol I know who you are. Thank you!

Very clearly explained. You're a talented teacher, Aimee. Thanks.
Absolutely the best
Yes, which seems to be a fairly common problem with most amateurs. Is this a drill you would recommend?
Larry - San Diego
Thanks, Aimee.
You are an angel. I could watch you forever. And it all makes perfect sense. Love you Girl.
Love watching her

골프 첨 시작했을때 도움을 많이받았었어요 멋져요
Great tips! Many thx
Love it as always
I don't play golf at all but it's great watching this tutorial.
Any tips on what to do now to eliminate the checked pattern burnt into my eyes?
next time, try to look at her whole body and the club! or you are watching a wrong video.
Hi, Aimee:
I just discovered your instructional videos and I plan on incorporating your power down swing drill at the gym soon. Having played today it was an up and down day due to my inability to correct my early extension. Any plans on a video for us high handicap to help with this common problem?
Larry - San Diego
Hi! When you say early extension, you are referring to losing your set up angles and standing up during the swing?
thank u Aimee

Thank you for your good lesson today.
Is the conclusion right: Pull right foot to feel the left wall, and pull left foot to shift the weight?
Beautiful! 😍
My problem for sure..Thank you
Great lesson!! Thank you...but why don't lessons refer to forward leg and back/hind leg understanding that some lefties play golf as well? Right handed golfers would not be negatively impacted....just a thought
Can I ask you which ball you are using in the video? I am looking for a ball to practice indoor. Thanks
How do these power down tips work with your other swing video in which speed is generated from the right hand throwing clubhead at the ball? This may be the most important part of golf. I attemped this cocept my own. With Aimee Im more clear now.
좋은 팁 감사합니다
Great lesson
