If you use this as an insecticide, be sure to get the food-grade kind (very inexpensive). It is usually marked to be used in gardens to protect flowers and vegetables from bugs, but you can safely use it around the perimeter of your home. I have also used it inside my home (apartment) along the baseboards or other entryways (doors/windows). It is a fine powder, so the video is correct: you don't want to breathe it in. Carefully sprinkle it where you want it, and allow the dust to settle. This should not take long if you aren't crazy in your "sprinkling." You could do one room at a time, too. Living in an apartment with a cat while having neighbors who also had pets they allowed outside to bring in fleas and other things is what led me to this solution. It does not harm him (remember, it's food-grade safe), and I am careful to allow the dust to settle before letting him back into a room. Again, you are only applying along the baseboards where many bugs tend to gather, so you can still clean the floor as often as you like--minus the baseboards, or you can reapply more often. It's really inexpensive, and a little goes a long way. So, much better than spraying a bunch of chemicals around your home...and it works!
I bought Diatomaceous Earth the food grade kind. After my momma dog gave birth to her litter, I started her on it. At 6 weeks when the pups went to the vet for their check up the pups didn’t have any parasites. The vet asked what I did & he had never seen it in his 32 yrs. I told him about it & he said, WOW! Your pups are clean & don’t need dewormed. Three weeks or longer to be effective for any animal.

I give this to my older dog. 2 tablespoons for 30 days. She contracted worms, and she is allergic to the worm medicine. Another one killed my older dog. I refused that one. So a farmer who brought in his herd dog told me about this. He gives it to his goats and cows when feeding them. It doesn’t hurt the animal at all. My dog would sleep all day, wasn’t very active. I have given her 2 tablespoons for 30 days, the difference was crazy. She was her old puppy self again. And the worms, my goodness! Long spaghetti like noodles coming out of her, was like watching the movie Alien. The vet was even taken aback by her demeanor when she visited the vet a month later. Diatomaceous microfossil tests, being composed of quartz will scratch glass-also made of quartz. In microbiology lab we were told to use Bon Ami instead of Comet or Ajax to clean microscope slides because it was made of the calcareous tests of different microfossils. Calcite is 3 on Moh's Hardness Scale while Quartz is 7 which is much harder.
Idk much but what I heard is that when it is sprayed on plants the insects accidentally eat it and it scrapes away the insides of the insect like sand paper so probably won't be able to see it under microscope
It looks so incredibly beautiful when you look at it closely. Some of those views you showed I would really like to buy as a poster, or something like that, to hang on my wall since they were so very stunning. We take our wonderful earth way too much for granted. We live in a truly magical place.
Diatomaceous earth is great for fleas, ticks, parasites. I would put some in a shaker container & sprinkle it on my yard where the outside dogs laid & I'd sprinkle a little on the dogs food once a month for parasite prevention. Since its natural & sans harmful chemicals.
take it yourself its medicinal benefits is used as a source of silica, for treating high cholesterol levels, for treating constipation, and for improving the health of skin, nails, teeth, bones, and hair. When applied to the skin or teeth, diatomaceous earth is used to brush teeth or remove unwanted dead skin cells.
Baking soda has a smaller granule size than Diatomaceous earth particulates and kills any species of insects no matter how small by sealing into bugs crevices , joints and limbs. Then any moisture in the air turns it into a concrete like substance freezing the insect in its tracks and inevitably starving them to death. The same happens with diatomaceous earth as well only at a lessor rate.

"Silicate" is also the elemental body of quartz crystal. It is also used in watches, Iphones, I pads, Laptops for its ability to hold and store memory.
Silica is silicon dioxoide, aka quartz, and the most abundant mineral on or in Earth. That's what diatom shells are made of. It's used in watches because it is piezoelectric, it generates electricty when struck and vibrates when a current is applied to it. Don't forget pool filters! I've been doing pools a long time and we use diatomaceous earth filters instead of cartridge filters or sand. It really is the best for filtration
D.E. is sometimes ground to yield more sharp edges for insect control applications. And swim pool filters use it and it can be more efficient than other filtration methods- back-washing wastes water though
Some folks use it when doing authentic hand rub shellac finishes. (Sometimes referred to as French polish) Like on violins, handmade furniture, and such. Also rottenstone and other natural abrasives.
Lots of pools also have diatomaceous earth filters. They are a pain in the ass to clean but performs very well keeping the pools clean for the pool guy to easily maintain the water chemistry & clean all the stuff off the bottom.

Works great on fleas__you just need to be super careful when treat your pets. CAREFULLY sprinkle some into your hands then, apply__but not around their eyes or nose! Again, carefully, rub into fur getting close to, but not rubbing into, the skin__it can be irritating to pets with sensitive skin because it's very drying. If you have carpeting sprinkle DE throughout, especially, in corners where fleas will hide. Do this close to the floor so you don't create a dust cloud, rubbing into carpet as you go, particularly, if plush or shag-type. And make sure to keep pets out of room while doing this! You must leave in carpet, at least, for about 3 days before vacuuming__better if you can leave it longer__so the eggs won't hatch and larvae won't grow into adult fleas. Sometimes you have to retreat, depending on the degree of infestation__but if you're diligent it REALLY DOES take care of the problem. Of course, the ideal thing is not to bring fleas in, in the first place. On that note, my cats never go out yet, I ended up with a terrible problem because my sister's cat had fleas and they hitched a ride to my place in her purse! One of my kitties has sensitive skin and is allergic to every collar and liquid application so I was at my wit's end__until I discovered DE! It took several applications(and a real "b... buster") because our apt. was totally carpeted, and we had some things stored in boxes and bags so, LOTS of cleaning out, but it DID get rid of them! Only get "food grade" because all others are highly toxic to humans and pets! 😺😺😺

Hello Sir... Have been following your videos since a few weeks... We have a query regarding neem leaves... Could you do an experiment with neen leaves? Do they disinfect water by just putting in water? Would be really helpful!
How does it help the pipes stay clean? Its main properties of killing things is drying them out, yet that would cancel out with the wetness of the drink. So your parents were just shoving silica down your throats for no good reason.
Why would you do that to the chickens? Don't you like worms with the rotting chicken flesh? Also parasites, pesticides, blood, feces, semen, goo... what gets rid of that?
Lol. Silica isn't "a type of glass", glass is just composite material that includes silica in its composition. That's like saying Lime or Soda is a type of glass, which they aren't. Silica is in essence Silicon-Dioxide, which is common in things like sand, quartz and opals. Which is why glass is made predominantly from sand.

Definitely going to use this for bug fixes!! Thanks

Diatomaceous earth is great for fleas, ticks, parasites. I would put some in a shaker container & sprinkle it on my yard where the outside dogs laid & I'd sprinkle a little on the dogs food once a month for parasite prevention. Since its natural & sans harmful chemicals.
You know that cyanide is natural? So is poison ivy and many insect born illnesses, right? Just because its natural doesnt mean its good. Haha
take it yourself its medicinal benefits is used as a source of silica, for treating high cholesterol levels, for treating constipation, and for improving the health of skin, nails, teeth, bones, and hair. When applied to the skin or teeth, diatomaceous earth is used to brush teeth or remove unwanted dead skin cells.
You are right that it is natural but it isn't harmless. Silica dust, which is what this is, has disabled many people and horses from breathing it in.
If it is like tiny knives for those insects, what does it to the very soft tissue in the intestines of humans and animals?

"Silicate" is also the elemental body of quartz crystal. It is also used in watches, Iphones, I pads, Laptops for its ability to hold and store memory.
Silica is silicon dioxoide, aka quartz, and the most abundant mineral on or in Earth. That's what diatom shells are made of. It's used in watches because it is piezoelectric, it generates electricty when struck and vibrates when a current is applied to it.
