Not having a win con and just putting your opponent suffer in a game they can eventually won if they get lucky only for you to be ready to counter is sick and twisted. I love it. More of this.
His "land destruction but with "Assassin's Trophy" (which allows your opponent to draw a land and replace the land you just destroyed) was pretty evil. Your enemy thinks you're just stupid until they realize they don't have any more lands and there was nothing they could do about it (it doesn't work anymore really, though, sad. It was pretty good at first).

Until you can trade cards in arena instead of spending money on every last copy or hoping rngesus blesses you in every pack, arena won’t be as good as paper magic
the fact that theyre releasing more cards with convoluted checks, that only work on arena would suggest you are correct, paper magic is going the way of the dodo
I've never played on paper, but from all the wacky stuff that goes on with tokens, copies, counters and whatnot, playing on paper seems like it would be such a mess I have no interest on ever playing on paper. And I'm talking about standard here, no alchemy.
I think Arena took over every format but commander just because Arena couldn't handle the actual format so it has to use brawl. Paper will survive (barely) because commander will keep it a float.

I struggle to find anyone at any lgs or otherwise that plays arena over paper magic and when they do they don’t really know magic like paper magic players do haha they’re noobs

Paper magic will last because there are dirty nerd collectors out there that value physical copies. If it dies my collection value skyrockets so as the great dolph lingren once said, "if he dies, he dies."
