I will never set foot on this Island, because a young girl and her husband were on honeymoon there in 2011, and she went back to their room to collect biscuits for their tea when she was startled intruders who were in ransacking their room while they were out. Two hotel workers were charged but later acquitted of her murder, so to this day nobody has been brought to justice for it. This happened in the grounds of the Legends Hotel, which has now had its name changed to Lux Grand Guabe Resort & Villas. So in my opinion some of these Islands are not very safe places for foreigners to be travelling to.
Well, it is appalling. I've never heard of this tragedy before, and I'm on this island now. It is good to know this case before making any major decision. Thank you.
