I just hope there is a lot of story content available when the game launches. If the raid wont be available at launch, and there wont be a meta event, and I don't remember hearing about a fractal, I worry about what there will be to do on release.
I think it's good for the sake of variety, GW2 already has so much content, no need to have every map be high action. Sometimes it sucks in the moment, but think it will be better integrated into the game long-term
To me it sounded good, a slower, more chill map were we really get to dive into the life and the lore of the new people we meet is something i wanted for a while. Maybe more similar in style to the core maps. Also, i don't think that EVERY map in an expansion needs to have meta events or renown hearts. In my opinion they are different styles of map that can coexist and i'd rather see a mix of them in an expansion than only one type. Use the one that makes the most sense in any given situation to help tell the story.

@@ieatyoulolI guess Harathi Hinterlands kinda goes in that direction? Thogh there they decoupled the mapwide eventchain from the boss at the end, so it's not quite the same. And then there's Straits of Devastation, but that's Orr... What would you say are your favorite 3 core maps?
@@gewreid5946 core world bosses dont feel quite the same as map wide meta events to me, I actually quite like core world bosses as well for similar reasons to core maps tho, they are nice and nostalgic and very classic mmo vibes. Queensdale is my fave core map easily, spot number 2 and 3 are a bit harder to come up with, maybe gendarran fields and wayfarer foothills. lots of starter maps it seems lol
hmm no meta in the map... I'm conflicted too... on the one hand, what will we do once we burn through the story. You can decorate your homestead only for so long... On the other hand, does this mean they are easing back on the zone currency grind?? hmm...
@@arkanaloth2617 yeah I'm very interested to see the roadmap with everything that will be available on launch, I think the second map will be on launch which should have a meta
Will there be only one map on release or multiple? Because if only the first map has no meta and there still is one in one of the other maps, it should be fine. (And if there is only one map, that would be WAY more of a problem than no meta, imo). Those mist tide storms they mentioned sounded like they would be rift-like events at the very least, possibly part of a meta. And if we get more speculative, as one of the post-expansion updates doesn't have a map, maybe it will implement a meta in post?
I am a big fan of GW2 but finding hard to get excited about this expansion 😢 It maybe because I am a WvW Player and as far as I can tell there is little to nothing benefit to my game play from it.😮😮😮
@@colinbastow1057 I suppose most expansions are mostly pve content. at least you get the new spears, I hear the guardian spear has a very wvw focused toolkit!
@@ieatyoulol I not finished the last expansion as I spend around 95% of my time in WvW. I play mostly a Ranger so the expansion is of little benefit as the spear is going to do more damage to my class. I am so looking forward to Anet spending sometime on fixing issues in WvW and making my time in WvW more exciting. I have played GW1 and GW2 for around 19 years so maybe I just need to have a break and play something else. When is GW3 coming out?
@@colinbastow1057 the announcement for gw3 was made very weirdly by an executive from NCsoft not arenanet so no one really knows, could be a very long time still, especially since anet have been doubling down their efforts on GW2 over the past year or 2, it seems like its here to stay for a while
@@ieatyoulol agree it will take awhile before they are able to release a GW3. If I remember correctly they did some work on GW3 but suspended it around the time there was major lay-offs. A number of projects were either abandoned or suspended around that time.
