- This is the first backpack review I've been able to do in awhile and I sure picked a great one.
I was surfing around, looking for a better solution to for my EDC/travel backpack. I currently use the Alchemy/Carryology 022 as my travel bag since it is super comfortable and secure. It is a good size too, since I tend to pack all my toiletries and tech in it. It's only flaw really is that it doesn't have a luggage pass through, which I have really found to be helpful when walking through the airport.
For my EDC, I'm using my Dakine Mission because I like the size and that it can also carry my skateboard if I'm indoors. I also like my Timbuk2 Vert. Neither have a luggage passthrough though.
So, when I heard about the Moment MTW, I thought I had to give it a shot. Could it be the answer to my EDC and travel backpack dilemna?
It seemed to check a lot of boxes. Separate laptop compartment, water resistant, water bottle pocket, nice build.
At $159 ($149 at time of filming) I thought I had to try it. There are may more backpacks out there that cost far more.
It comes in two sizes, 17L and 21L. I knew 17L would be too small. To be honest, I think 21L is a bit small. After using it, I would not mind an even bigger size. How about a 25-27L Moment?
Build quality was great. All the seams and hardware are tight.
I love the water bottle pocket, which has elastic to pull it flush with the bag when not in use. It keeps everything sleek.
The outer pocket is meant to be opened when the bag is slung over the left shoulder. I don't love this, as I prefer to sling it over the right shoulder (I'm right handed) when carrying it. It has a lot of organization in it which is nice if you need such things.
The main compartment can get a little snug when I fill it out to my full carry. I wish it had just a bit more room. The YKK zips are nice though.
The laptop compartment is fine. It's not super padded, but probably enough to get the job done. It only has one zipper pull to open it though, which is super, super, super lame.
The back padding is thin and a bit hard. Not uncomfortable, but not the most padded pack have. The straps are nice, and they break in to become more comfortable with. I found the sternal strap to be a bit awkward at first, but got used to it.
Overall, I think they cover their bases well, though I could have used one more outer pocket or quick access pocket for when I'm going through security at the airport.
At $149, I think this pack is a great value and I am currently loving it as my EDC.

Congrats on hitting 500 subs, thanks for the vids.
Love it! Thanks for the great review here!
Glad it helped! You're in the drawing!
Someday you should do a review of the MTW tote!
Looks really good, but I'm not the kinda guy that uses totes. Maybe I'll get it as a gift for someone and review that way!
@@highswithlowe Yeah I'm kinda that way aswell. However, I noticed that the tote can carry a 16 inch laptop so I thought I might give it a try
Does this bag stand up on its own?
With careful placement sure. Obviously also depends on how you pack it. It doesn't love to stand up by itself.
Regresaste más guapo?
No...:(
@@highswithlowe no estoy de acuerdo ?
Damn! Came to your channel cuz I'm a bag ho! LOL Love your channel.
Nice! Me too! Happy new year.
