This channel, daisy, is one of my favorites. Watching the videos are my bill spots of tranquility and escapism during the day. And to the point, mechanical pencils are very convenient to have thrown in your backpack. I know that they are not so common in US schools, but other places they are.
Thanks for the information! I use 0.9mm myself for my art. I tend to finish of all my drawings in pen after a rough draft in pencil.🖋 I would love to try the less known smaller sizes like 0.2 🤔 I wish you a lovely day! ❤❤❤❤
Another excellent informational video. Thank you.
I've used the Pentel Graphgear 1000 mechanical pencil shown in the video for years and never knew I can change the lead hardness label on the pencil body until now! 😂😂 Thank you for the informative video!
Thank you for your explanation. I'm found it very informative.
Perhaps a follow up vid of different models available at varying price points ,nice explanation of the H to B chart
I love mechanical pencils more than fountain pens.
I loooove mechanical pencils. I used to only use pencil when I was in school
@@douseenow one of my favorites is the Pentel Sharp Kerry.
I too love mechanical pencils more. They have never failed me when out in the field drawing and writing.

I hate fountain pens.
so good, I love these explainer videos ☺☺
Great video, Daisy! I have used mechanical pencils for years, and years. I have lead that I’ve also had for years. I’ve branched out from Pentel to Tikky. As long as I use 0.5 in a 0.5, is okay if I use Pentel lead in my Tikky pencil? Thanks so much!
Which lead I should use for architectural drawings ? .5 or .7 ? by which I should go for outline and by which I use for sketching ?
Just in time for me to ask the question!
Thank you for the clarification
I ❤ the stationery world.
Didn't answer the basic question for me. I get the 7 doesn't break as easily, but what I want is the mark to be dark and not smear.
Darkness is determining not by width but harness. "HB" is hard and will give a light grey colour; the softer you go, the darker it will be, but it will also smudge more. In ascending darkness it goes something like: HB, B, 2B, 3B, 4B, etc. "2B" is the most common darkish option where you get a good balance of dark enough tone but doesn't smudge too much.
@@hubey Thank you. That's really helpful to know.
@@herbertdaniel4422 You're very welcome!
I got a pencil for Valentine’s Day thanks for explaining the lead hardness. Now tell me is there purple lead in .7

Too many "actual" and "actually". Makes my head actually hurt. Actually.
I write often with fountain pens although I prefer the writing exp with mechanical pencil. I like both, but pencils in general gives that feeling of both satisfaction and anxiety (erasability and getting smudged unintentionally) at the same time 🥲
