- We are in Bar Harbor, Maine for the day... it is our last port on our Bermuda cruise on the Norwegian Pearl and we are excited for some lobstah!!! We were in Maine in the fall and fell in love with the food! Fresh caught lobster just can't be beat and we are in search of lobster rolls today!
Not only is the food great here, but Bar Harbor is the cutest little town. Just get out and take a walk and discover all of the little nooks and crannies! What a great port day and the perfect ending to this cruise!

Bar harbor is great but you really need to go back sometime with your rv and drive thru Acadia national park, it's beautiful and you will love it.
Agree Acadia is a can't miss attraction.
We plan on it!
My mom said if people had lobster at home they would close the blinds so no one knew they were eating it.
Now it’s a luxury.
As a Vermonter, I can honestly say that port is special. I try to get to the Maine coast every year! Glad you enjoyed it!

Downeast Cider is out of East Boston, we love unfiltered ciders as well as unfiltered (hazy) IPA’s here in New England. Also, a hot lobster roll is made w/ butter, a cold lobster roll uses mayonnaise. Neither should have corn lol

Oh shoot missed you we are 23 miles from bar harbor come stay with us when you come down in your rv. So much to see. Don't do a lobster roll next time do a crabmeat roll. You came at the right time because it's getting busy in barharbor.
I've been watching your videos for so long and was excited to see you were coming to Bar Harbor! I live downtown and couldn't wait to see what you thought of our little town. Geddy's should be closed down for putting corn in their lobster roll! Lobster rolls should be eaten with only melted butter on a bun. ;-) Hope you return with your new, smaller camper and really explore the area, there is so much more to see and do.

Too funny - we just ate at Geddy's during our visit to Bar Harbor a couple weeks ago! We sat and ate ice cream overlooking Balance Rock :) We also had dinner at Thisty Whale on our last night. I ordered the same thing - the lobster roll with the chowder!
We went to Jordan's Restaurant. Oh my goodness. Had the blueberry pancakes. SO delicious. We also had the blueberry ice cream. Oh yum!

Ah yes, my home town 💜. Watching this is giving me nostalgia and making me wish I returned to work for the summer. Next summer for sure though!

On the third Norwegian ship cruise out of Boston and it was so cold in Bar Harbor it was unbelievable. Our son and his friend met some other people and went over and had dinner I’m shocked. Glad you had fun we’re going back again the end of July

Living in New Hampshire we have traveled to Bar Harbor many times. My favorite coastal town. Better in summer for sure but anytime good. Loved watching you both enjoy the town and the lobster. Great cruise!
Loved your reviews of the Pearl and the Boston/Bermuda/Bar Harbor cruise and so glad you enjoyed this smaller ship. We were on the May 13 cruise and are repeating this cruise ( minus Bar Harbor) at the end of October.

You were lucky that you were able to go to Bar Harbor. I was on the Silversea Silver Cloud last month, and we were supposed to go to Bar Harbor on May 13. But at the end of April we were informed that our ship was denied entry because of covid-19 concerns. We went to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia instead, which was a good alternative.
Looks amazing! I'd take lobster on a hot dog bun any day! Like you guys, we don't get it straight from the ocean here in Cincinnati. Nom nom nom. What a beautiful town.

I am lucky to live in this beautiful place and have worked as a Skin and massage therapist at the Bar Harbor Club for the past 10 years on property of Harborside Hotel and Marina, sitting right in front is the sandbar! Next time you come visit and stay in the park, treat yourselves to a relaxing spa day with us after a few days of exploring our beautiful hiking trails! I love seeing your adventures! My wife and I have been on the NCL Gem out of New York a few times. Same ship as the Pearl. To us, that is the perfect size ship. Also, yes, Bermuda is a great port to visit.

I live in Maine for 53 years. So glad you got to enjoy our little town of bar harbor. We usually stay right on the water side every year for at least three nights. But yes you should definitely come back and do Acadia national Park and then go up to Mount kadillac.

Good episode, Maine is great. We have gone sailing on Penobscot Bay out of Camden, it seems everyone does their lobster rolls just a bit different from each other. The lobster pot buoys are so plentiful it looks like popcorn on the water. You missed some shops being open; but, I bet you avoided some large crowds.

Glad you like our area of the country. Our kids live in Portland, so we are in Maine a lot. The best lobster roll in Maine is Reds Eats, Wiscasset ME.A close second is Bailey's lobster pound , Pine Point in Scarborough, ME.

Guys, us locals in my area in MA call the first lobster roll with Mayo, celery and corn-lobster salad roll. When we get the plain one like your 2nd, call it a naked lobster roll. But that’s in my area. Loved your visit. Thanks
Yes, lobster rolls should only have a little mayo or butter, anything else is just crap.
The lobster roll with no salad stuff and no mayo or butter is called Naked Lobster Roll. YUM!

I love Bar Harbor. My sister has a house there and I love going to see her in the summer. Haven't been able to do that the last two years because we have been workamping in Montana, but she sends me pics of what she's doing so I can share in the fun. Geddy's has good clam chowder and I have walked Shore Path many a time during the day and at night... absolutely beautiful during a full moon. We love the "Yellow Umbrellas" as we call it (Bar Harbor Inn) for dinner and drinks outside. Brings back such wonderful memories. Hope you do get to go again to do Acadia. One of God's many miracles of creation. Looking forward to your next adventure.

I’m a Floridian from Maine, missing home. I’m not from Bar Harbor, but visited with my dog several years ago when I flew home for a reunion. Thanks for posting this. Jonesing for a real lobster roll, and the one on my cruise didn’t cut it.
We have learned there is NOTHING like Maine lobster!!! Cruise ship lobster is terrible in comparison!
Jason on the Norwegian Jade the toilet is just like that except it has a wall so you cannot turn around to get out. You have to come straight up. At 6’ 2” it is painful.
Hi, We really enjoyed you video. We are doing a B/B? on Sept 1 up to Quebec and back. I use a mobility scooter and I'm hoping that they will lift it onto the Tender. I can walk onto the Tender with a Cain. So we will have a stop on the way up to Quebec and one on the way back. If you saw any mobility scooters on the Tender let me know. Thanks again.
Delicious huge lobster roll in Hyannis on Cape Cod. We split one, and we were full!
Yeah y'all check out the citadel it's an old army for it they said a cannon off every day at 12:00 used to use 2 lb of powder it broke the highest rise wind is and now they're going to use a pound of powder in the college takes care of it it's beautiful
It's impossible to watch you all get lobster rolls and not want one!! Too bad they weren't loaded with butter, but happy the clam chowder came through!
LOVE Ba Harba! On your next visit to Maine, try the fried fresh clams. We have given up our love for lobsta rolls for our new love of fresh fried clams! We live in NY state & can not find them anywhere like the make in Maine. This series has been so fun 🌞

First and last trip to Maine, same trip, it was so rainy and foggy that we did not even get off the bus at Acadia as we could not see a thing!

Loved this episode !!! I do have to say though that I would only go to Bar Harbor for the history and maybe the clams. I dispise cold water lobster 🤢. Give me warm water lobster any day😅, any hour of the day. They don't need to be drowned in butter. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip and thank you for taking us along!!!

Now I don't eat clam chowder but I do like corn chowder, generally with chicken. As far as I'm concerned if it's not thick then it's not chowder. If it's liquidy then people better be calling that soup and not chowder. That was a fine looking chowder you had there!

How was the service on the Pearl. I was on in February and it was not good at all! Ship was good, but the staff just couldn’t pull it together. Hopefully they had improved by the time you both boarded. Looking forward to the Hawaii vids

I wouldn't like going from sunny warm Bermuda to Maine in May. I wonder why they are going there this year.
They are doing Bar Harbor for several reasons. One is that the Customs is so much easier there than in Boston. Was on this cruise May 13-20. I have done this cruise (minus Bar Harbor) many times, but this time disembarkation was unbelievably fast. By 8 :30 a.m. we were already on the highway heading back to Vermont.
So many great lobster rolls in maine . Bar harbor is a tourist town , pretty but prepare to pay big for average seafood. I just saw on the news places are getting 40 bucks for them. You can buy live lobsters for 5 or 6 bucks a pound.
