Looks like what is fitted to my camper. Mine was done when I bought it but, I've had to rewire most of it. I fitted a boat fuse box and made my own switch board. Great work Jay 👍
@@JaysFabShop on one occasion I was trying to find the feed for the rear step courtesy light and ended up stripping out the rear due to about 5 deferent joints. All using different types of cable too 😫
This is fantastic information because I have the airbag switch on that panel and I wouldn't have known that that so thank you very much for that information very helpful
It looks like the floor in a chicken shed under that screen scuttle young JAY I,d be cleaning all that crap out , It would do my head in , and that battery tray well, get it cleaned young man ,THAT VAN IN BEAUTIFUL, stay well and take care stay safe.
Hey Susan. Thanks for the comment and advise. I had to clean it I just couldn’t leave it no way. I was so shocked it was so dirty. Felt alittle embarrassing to be honest. Please stay safe 🙏
Wonderful job Jay as always!!! Your advice on purchasing your kit from a highly reputable manufacturer is great. It like added insurance and peace of mind.
Thank you John. Yes I think so as people will have their kids etc in the vehicles and safety is highly important. So much can go wrong with the electrics I think it’s best to leave it to the pros
Mate I haven't even watched the whole video yet but I've came on comments to say your video style and ease of explanation is class. Gonna watch rest of video now then flick through the others and sub. Thanks mate. Colin
Great work, just done a similar job on my van using a CTek B2B Charger as mines got the smart alternator. I used a pair of Battery Isolating switches, one in engine bay and another under drivers seat that isolates the second battery. It’s a real pain of a job to do it neat but it pays dividends. Have you dealt with the rust patch, going to see if I can check mine to see if I can waxoyl it before it starts. You definitely did the right thing by removing seats ect.
Thanks for the comment matey. Yeah the rust patch was only surface so I was lucky. I would guess it’s a common area to rust though. Aw that sounds a great idea to be fair. It’s definitely better with the seats out etc I feel. Some won’t want to though so I tried to give advise from both sides of poosble
Thats a a great job I’m so glad you cleaned the crud out Uber the grill made it look a lot better. I feel even o would have confidence in doing that bit new subscriber
I think you will be sorry you did not fit a battery to battery charger like the CTEK DS250 this will charge your batteries to 100% unlike the relay you have fitted, which will only go to about 80% . TAKE CARE YOUNG JAY. cheers Mick.
Hi watch till the end good vlog (& liked), I still have to get the front of the Bus sound proofed , just the hand-brake could be the problem about removing ect , Had the seats out getting recovered but not been under the carpet ,prob only part of the bus I have not been , the split charge has been done just about the same as yours but would like to see (the handbrake removel) One last thing (Scottish Flag Long Cushion Covers Pillow Cases ) Just for your Scottish viewers would be nice to see a Scottish Cushion cover ,Take care keep safe
Hey Donna. Thanks for the comment. If you can hold on a week or two when I upload the custom seats video I fully explain how to remove the seat base and get around the handbrake issue. Great idea that is. Please stay safe
Mate love your vids very informative. I am also today doing 12v electrics on my T5.1 kombi. I have taken both seats out and the mat. This has taken me all day. I’m now a little stuck and hoping you may be able to help. I’ve taken all the screws out of the glove box. But it will not come out. Feels like something is stopping it. Is there a way to lift it out, all screws definitely out. 2 how do you remove that big black Centre console under the mat all plastic connectors on bolts don’t want to break them. 3 I was going to put a light switch in the rear where the seat belt panel cover is as I’m taking the seats out and not sure how to get the wires down to this I see most conversions put a switch there. I appreciate this is not a forum and I haven’t looked anywhere else yet just been watching your vids and thought you might be able to help as you really look like you know what your doing. I am just trying to make the most of this lockdown. Any help really appreciated. Keep well and stay safe. Bez 👍😎👀
Hi mate. Thank you. Ok so the glove box kind of has to be tilted upwards and kind of come out facing up at an angle of that makes sense. Try and take the front upwards and back. Make sure it’s closed? Are you on Instagram or anything?
@@JaysFabShop Hi Jay no not on I nstagram mate. Managed to get glove box out. Thank you top man. Will take a look at the console tomorrow. Am I right in thinking that you mean leaver those up off the male threads? I’m completely new to this. Again thank you for the reply. I’m trying to put electrics in and am going to sound deaden the floor as you have. 👍😎👀
I love the way you modify your van. Well done so far! :D So much attentation to the details...! I REALLY HOPE you will not fit this outdoor socket on the van (2:10). Please, buy a OEM socket. The oiginal one (VW) is placed on the left side, but my advise is to place it on the right side. As it is a driver's side in UK :D (it will be easier not to forget that the van is plugged into the charging point). Are you going to buy back lights from the T6? I guess it's plug-and-play - easy mod to refresh exterior. P.S. it's not a problem to unplug the AIR-BAG switch as long you will not turn ignition on and/or your battery is disconected. But it's always good to have a VAG-com cable to scan ot clear fault codes (I will say it's a must have).
Hey mate. Thanks. Yeah I’m going to fit the socket but I think behind the rear panel below the lights. Thanks for great advice. I may upgrade the rear lights but really not to bothered about them at the moment. I feel rear lights are overpriced for what they are. Yeah I totally get the air bag but I try and accommodate the average viewer who may not realise this.
Wow some great videos here mate , Iv just got a t5.1 shuttle first job I want to do is fit a leisure battery in the same place as yours and put sound proofing on the floor and doors etc , what sound proofing is best to use ? And also because mine is a shuttle it has carpet upfront is it hard to remove ? I presume it will be the same as removing the rubber floor ?
Hey mate. Thanks for the comment. I used some roofing stuff from bnq on mine to be honest. Can’t really recommend what’s best really but mine works fine. In regards to the front carpet I’m sorry I would know I’m guessing it’s just the same as the rubber stuff to remove etc.
No sorry mate I never filmed that part. Well I did but the footage came out with no volume 🤦♂️ if you have instragram I could talk you through the removal
Aw you have asked me now. I really can’t remember. I have £430 in my head for some reason. I did put the links to the kit in the description box below as that may help
