- Learn how to install Genymotion on Ubuntu, and its based distributions like Linux Mint, Elementary, Pop!_OS, Zorin, and etc. Although the system requirement need Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, but it works like a charm in Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, 20.10, even older releases like 16.04 LTS (been using this for years) and other Linux distributions as far you meet the system requirements.

ABOUT THE SOFTWARE
Genymotion is a popular cross platform Android emulator. It runs on Linux, Mac OS, and Windows. It's a great tool to install or play your favorite Android games on PC. For developers and QA engineers, it can be used to test the applications.

- Ubuntu - 64bit
- Debian 9 (Stretch)
- Fedora 30 - 64bit
- 64 bit CPU, with VT-x or AMD-V/SVM capability enabled in BIOS settings
- Hardware accelerated GPU
- 400 MB disk space
- 4GB of RAM
- Oracle VM VirtualBox

btw it's not just ubuntu and it's based distros
it can work in almost any other distro(fedora/arch/centos/....) as long as it has virtualbox and supports running .bin(all of modern enough distros do)

It'll run terrible compared to native. Go read the docs which states:
"Running Genymotion Desktop in a virtual machine from VMWare, Parallels, Hyper-V, VirtualBox or VirtualPC is not supported and does not comply with Genymotion Desktop requirements. Genymotion Desktop needs direct access to the hardware - running it in a virtual machine will result in incorrect behavior (bugs) or simply not work at all."

I'm 15, and very very new to Linux, (I wanted windows, but nahh) my stepdad told me that i'll figure things out on my own.. so I did have trouble at first with the virtualbox bc there were some errors, it didn't fully install some things (found that out when I ran the Genymotion thing), usually i would give up whenever something went wrong bc i wouldn't be able to figure it out, but I actually found out I had to uninstall virtualbox, and then reinstall it, but this time selecting the one compatible and installing the updated version from the website. totally made sense because this vid was last year. also had to install "python" bc it was required so after hours reading lots of helpful comments from people who had the same issue online, and learning new things, and ofc this thing being very slow, i had lots of patience, and im happy it installed successfully after that. this is a first. everything starts up perfectly, no crashes, but I just have one last problem which is with the virtual device being all blacked out haha, it's currently 4:14 AM, i'll get to the bottom of it tomorrow, i'm going to bed lol. totally leaving u a like tho, and i'm subbing.

nice video. just to add that if u dont know how to work with virtual box it will mess ur system up. so dont mess around with vr and just stick to the genymotion application.

Via ADB : adb install app.apk or drag and drop the application APK file into the virtual device window. For GApps, there's a Open GApps widget in the toolbar

It says that only Ubuntu 18.04 is supported but the title says 20.04 LTS. Is this clickbait or has the site just not updated yet?
That's just the system requirements on the paper. Genymotion supports Ubuntu 18.04, 20.04, and even older versions such as 16.04

Virtualbox is not associated with java installer. The issue comes with your previous Java installation

Hey beautiful girl, maybe you can help me on this. I installed Genymotion and an emulator with Android 8.0. Also I installed ARM translation to be able to install and run apps that replies on arm native code. Then, I tried to install V380 Pro, an app for viewing my house cameras (I use it on computer when my devices are running other apps). But it won't open and keeps saying the app crashed. On macOS it runs fine, but not on Linux Mint. Any idea?
