Thanks for these video clips, they are an excellent insight into the craft, the fact that they are pitched at the player and not the luither makes them educational, interesting, very easy to watch and wisely, not to long. So, very well done and thanks again.

Animal glue is an interesting topic and there are many types but it is fairly easy to get. Eucalyptus is maybe suitable as a wood for backs and sides but I would stick to Softwoods for the top, although there are no rules.
I'm looking forward to more videos with Matthew so keep an eye out!

Excellent and informative Mike, W.L.T.have a go at this myself but at 73 maybe still a bit young ? Matthew sent me very nice christmas greetings and told me about the Vid.I wonder can you tell me why you have the round notch cut in the middle of the lower of the two boards which you wrap in the figure of eight. Is it hard to get the animal glue.?
I have an Eucalyptus tree out in my back garden. How does it fare as a suitable wood for a guitar top.

Hi Bilstew? Well at 73 i think you could give it a go and see how you feel about it. If I was to compare it to the more usual sash clamps and slimey titebind I'd say this is easier. There is a slight fear of using animal glue what with the short open time but the fire sorts it all out at the end. The slot cut out the base blank is just to stop the soundboard gluing to it, it just happens to be round, it's not important to the work.
