Oh, wow, this was interesting to watch! I had no idea about this class within the RC hobby/sport... I was researching an XV-01 the other day, so I came across one of your videos, so I subscribed. Regarding that last run, I think your friend's car was geared quite high, it sounded like that already to begin with, so the motor overheated, hopefully it's not completely destroyed.
Thanks for the report :) That's a killer first stage! Were those blue markers literally nailed to the ground? It's very interesting to compare your driving to Kuba's, as your models are very similar. His driving style is much calmer, I would even say it looks slower, but the timer never lies!
Yeah the blu markers were literally nailed to the ground, avoiding them was crucial. Now that I've found an ideal setup I needt to make my driving more efficient and less nervous
Great video. I didn't get what happend to the car at the end, did it just run out of batteries or did something break? Has anyone ever tried driving fpv? I used to race drones so it feels like it would be natural.
You can see the motor got so hot that one of the wires disconnected! There is very little airflow under the cover and the stages were very long. Maybe here was something binding in the drivetrain, causing more strain on the motor? Also, rally FPV is fun but absolutely not made for racing. 1. You can't see the lines. 2. You can't see what's next after sharp corners. 3. You can't see anything at all, because it's so shaky ;)
Top ten on such a strong rally is already a good success. It's a shame that your friend Kuba had bad luck, but I already had engine damage on the last stage or a complete electronic failure during the rally when the steering servo burned out (short circuit in the circuit board), that's just motorsport.🤷 I always look with envy at the rally scene in Poland and the Czech Republic, it's a shame that the whole thing here in Germany is a completely marginal phenomenon and even goes under the radar of many in the forums or Facebook. Or it puts many people off that you have to run after your car.
lets make rc rally big, greetings from austria

Fvp would also complicate things making the events less accessible to everyone.
My friend suffered of a bit of overheating
Very nice, what for car you have? And where you was racing?
Now i use a modified xray xb4, but I used to race with a tamiya xv-01 too, you can find the videos in my channel. This race was in Czech Republic
@@dariorcgarage And what is better for rally? XV-01 or Xray? And you know the name of town where was the race?
