    I never owned an eq pedal, but it's a great little tool to have - always in my " buy it later list" but moving to the "buy it ASAP". Awesome tip once again!

    This really is one of the better guitar channels. The step by step walk through is excellent. Everything is narrated and excellent playing. And you keep the content long enough to be in depth, but not a long grind to get through an hour and half. It really does feel scientific. Very happy to watch and learn. Keep going at it Budda!

    I was very fortunate. After not playing for 40 years I asked a friend what if any pedals I should buy first. He recommended the Boss GE-7 right off the bat explaining that it will make my tones how I want them to sound and improve any add on pedals.

    Great vid as per Budda. I always use a 10 band eq. Even if you're using all your own gear and know it backwards you'll find yourself playing in rooms that you don't know backwards and having that eq to tame the room a bit helps. Always helps you get that right tone to cut through whatever mix is there on the night and I like to be prepared for anything. Failing to prepare is just preparing to fail - as they say.

    Awesome video! I use this pedal for one other thing: to remove the muddy sound that some humbuckers/guitars/rigs have. I just pull the 200 slider down a touch and the mud usually disappears (often along with a quite a bit of volume). I might also slide 800 and 1400 up a touch. Mud gone.

    Another way to use it is if you have a more modern amp you can run that EQ pedal through the return/send in the back. That way it sends the EQ through the preamp stage rather than the guitar itself; EQs the amp, not the guitar.

      @BuddaGuedes  4 года назад +2

    I like to use the vol control on the eq to cut the gain for a clean rhythm with eq effect and kick it off for lead solos. It’s effective as a passive attenuator. Tweak guitar vol knob for extra push. A little tone can be lost when the guitar is turned down so the eq can be used to bring it back. I hope this makes sense to somebody. 🍄

    Olá Budda. Bem sei que cheguei atrasado à conversa,mas tenho uma questão que se tiveres paciência para responder agradecia. Na tua opinião, em que posição é que o GE-7 é mais útil ou mais eficaz? depois (como demonstras neste vídeo) ou antes de um pedal de overdrive (também uso o Plimsoul e é fantástico!). Neste momento tenho um Xotic RC booster antes dos overdrives, e estou a ponderar adicionar um GE-7 depois dos overdrives e antes das modelações,delays etc.
    Mas não sei se usar o GE-7 antes dos overdrives seria uma melhor opção.
    No entanto o RC booster está a funcionar bastante bem (para mim) pré overdrives. A ideia de adicionar o GE-7 depois dos overdrives, era ter um "tone shaper"' enquanto o RC ficaria a funcionar como um Pre overdrive booster.
    No entanto o GE-7 também é um booster.
    Antes dos overdrives ou depois, eis a questão!?
    Obrigado e continua com os excelentes vídeos.
    Abraço.

    • @BuddaGuedes
      @BuddaGuedes  4 года назад +2

      Boas. Depende do que queira fazer. O Eq não comprime por isso funciona bem depois dos overdrive para mudar o timbre ou para cortar ou fazer boost a certas frequências. O RC comprime um posso, por isso se o puseres depois dos drives ele vai comprimir os drives.
      É uma questão de gosto pessoal!!

      I have the MXR 10 band. It's been silent modded and it's the last pedal on my 12 pedal board. Either way get it silent modded. These end up making noise in your system. Newer MXR EQ's (silver) are supposed to be silent but I've never used 1. But biggest complaint about these EQ pedals is noise. I have a stock MXR EQ but I don't judge that 1 because it was wet in a flood at 1 time of its life. I took it apart and cleaned it but somewhere it's still not perfect as sometimes I hear noise. I also have a off brand 6 band EQ that was supposedly silent modded. It's quiet on my bass but never really looked at it realistically cause I only paid $16 for it used. It's a plastic case and pretty lightweight but does work just fine for my practice bass amp. At this time has a crap sounding speaker and I take out the offending frequency a little and we use the amp. For now. EQ is huge to your sound. On most my pedals on my board I have many of the tone side of each pedal about as halfway as needed cause I can change with either EQ or tone controls on guitar. On the fly.

    Why not just use the eq on the amp?

    • @BuddaGuedes
      @BuddaGuedes  3 года назад +13

      First because you can’t turn on and off the eq on the amp, and second because the frequencies on the amp are not the same ones of the pedal

      There's something wrong with your pedal. Are you turning it on? is it working on batery or ac adapter? Please make a video with your phone and send it to my instagram page via direct message.

      In all seriousness the other possibility is your hearing, depending on your age and the environments in your employment history. My father is in his 60s and has worked in a lot of loud places and he cannot hear most frequency ranges.
