Well at least Kylian Mbappé didn’t sugarcoat it. He was honest. To me it seems like he is blaming himself for not being up to his 100% self. What they all need to do is rest, regroup and rewatch all the matches so they can see what they could do the next time.

You can expect Kylian Mbappe to always work out his magic and let Antoine Griezmann get on the ball and create something and while this worked for France in previous major tournaments, we all saw how their attack couldn’t function when both of them weren’t playing well, when you factor in Mbappe’s form and Griezmann looking like a player who needs to retire from international football, you wonder why they only scored 1 goal from open play. Ousmane Dembele a 27 year old plays more like a kid and he’s supposed to be an elite winger as Kingsley Coman if he was fully healthy he’s their starting right winger over him, remind me why Adrien Rabiot starts over Eduardo Camavinga as he’s a manager who seems to pick his favorites over players who deserve to be in the pitch, Bradley Barcola should’ve played more, how is Ibrahima Konate on the bench and you’re starting Dayot Upamecano a guy who can’t even get in the Bayern Munich defense over Eric Dier of all people. When you’re going up against a team like Spain who plays well collectively and actually has tactics and you’re getting your team wrong, what do you expect from your team.
They need to go back to the drawing board and plan for the future accordingly and he needs to stop relying on certain players like Dembele Griezmann Rabiot Upamecano etc, just because they’re his favorites and they did well for him in the past. Before you comment 0 ball knowledge, the reason I said Antoine Griezmann is because as good as he’s been for the France national team in major tournaments, he was very disappointing at the EUROs and looked nothing like his usual self and with him 33 years of age, he could consider retiring from international football very soon and you don’t know if he has another World Cup in his legs as they have up and coming players who are ready to make their mark on the national team. I wish they can get someone like Zinedine Zidane to be their manager and while he’s been out of a job for 3 years, he would actually inject some life into a team who has more than enough talent to actually play proper football and he has good tactics, but let them keep Deschamps for a little longer I mean he should step down very soon, he won’t be their manager forever.
Well analysed. It appears DD is overwhelmed with the talents at his disposal. However, the media keeps highlighting Mbappe's poor spell (which happens to players anyway), and I fear that's why the entire team isn't improving because they know the media would blame 1 person. Unfortunately, Kylian also keeps taking the blame all the time, which is a mark of a good leader, but it's becoming too much! Even when he made a statement that his current teammates don't find him easily on the pitch like Pogba, the media still found a way to twist his comments. It was so frustrating to see him raise his hands on several occasions, calling for the ball, and his teammates would pass into the opponents defence! By the time he got the ball, he would be surrounded by 3 or 4 players. It's a shame that DD couldn't get this addressed with all the talents at his disposal! But then again, the media and the Internet are buzzing with Mbappe, whereas there are serious technical issues with the entire team! It's as if it was a boxing match where one fights alone. For someone who has followed the French team from 1998, I like DD, but then again, I feel like he is wasting Kylian's time! His substitutions in the World Cup final were poor. Kounde should have been substituted he kept him on, and he made more mistakes. 12 years is a long time for people to study his tactics as a coach, and he isn't evolving in his tactics, too! He shouldn't be stubborn. He should allow Zizou to come in. He has already done well!

Robiot starting over camavinga is just poor team selection. Taking of Muaini to bring in Giroud is just poor team selection. Keeping dembele on the field whil coman is on the bench. Not selecting Olise for the national team is just poor management.
I can understand being beaten by spain but the boring football displayed against poland and belgium was unacceptable. A much better tactical and attacking performance was needed against spain. Style up @didier deschamps.

They had four opponents that rank among the first 8 teams in FIFA ranking (Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Spain) and would have faced a fifth (England) had they progessed to the final. A very strong Austrian side was also among the opponents. It is natural that you don't turn your matches into a turkey shooting if you face such tough opposition. Just compare this with the cakewalk that England had to the semifinals ...

I don’t think that Didier Deschamps is stepping down as the manager of the France national team as they’re not going to sack him unless he decides that he wants to walk away from the team. We’ll look as his tenure as their manager and say that 1 major trophy in 12 years which was the World Cup in 2018 isn’t good enough on paper, since they go into every major tournament as the favorites to win it all and say whatever you want about his tactics, for the most part, he has taken them to finals and semifinals in multiple different tournaments and at the EUROs, he led them to a semifinals despite scoring just 1 goal from open play and their best player wasn’t fully fit and was far from his best.
He’s done a great job and he’s a very good manager, but it gets to a point where they have to move in a new direction especially since he’s been coaching this team for 12 years and overall despite having one of the most talented teams in international football on paper, the football they play is so boring and this pragmatic approach where they’re relying on defending for the whole game and then giving the ball to individuals and the whole team getting out of the way, it’s not a sustainable strategy.

I feel France matched spain in everything and should have won but Spain took their chances and had scorers, Mbappe should have come off but moving him to CF for Barcola was fine too, what remained was bringing on Kingsley Coman who puts in better crosses than Dembele. I understand why Pavard didn't come on, Kounde was good but the chances were so many and they were looking for goals, that's when he should've tried to really change things.
