    Doctor was literally speechless after seeing that my A1C went from 10.3 to 5.4 and then seeing my triglycerides go from 723 to 151.
    He kept staring at me, jaw dropped.
    I said, “come on man, you know it’s the sugar that raises triglycerides.”
    He agreed.

    Heres a question - how important is it to be fasted when getting bloodwork done? In other words, If you aren’t fasted when your lipid levels are checked, how accurate will the blood results be?
    Last time mine were checked i think i was in the 200s. That was down from 550. I think the 550 was not fasted. The one in the 200s was fasted. My doctor wasn’t worried about it? My A1C was 5.7. So i have work to do to get where i need to be but my dr wasn’t worried?! She said, “see ya next year.”

    Love your advice! Can I ask you a question? Recently I have been troubleshooting my weight loss journey. The one thing I identified was the amount of saturated fat in my diet. I used to take MCT oil, daily but I looked on the nutrition label and 1TBS has 14 grams or 70% of the recommended saturated fat for the day. Is it somehow a higher metabolizing form? It just seems like a lot of Saturated fat.
    Thanks and keep up the good work!

    My triglycerides level is 0.5 mmol/L (as of 2/July/2024). I’m in Australia, do I need to convert this unit? My HbA1C is 5.6. It has been hovering around this mark despite reducing my carbs and sugar drastically over the past 2-3 years. I wish I could sleep more and put on more muscles but I exercise intensely in endurance stuff like swimming and ocean kayak/surf ski paddling.

    I dropped my triglycerides from 80 (Dec 18th 2024) to 48 mg/dL (Jan 15th 2025) in less than 4 weeks by adding 2 tablespoons of ACV to a big glass of water and drinking every morning, and also starting supplementation with Berberine 400mg twice daily. And this was during a time I started adding a bunch of high carb junk food to my diet as an N=1 experiment! I was strict carnivore for 2 months before this.

  • @avid6186
    @avid6186 7 дней назад

    Why do you recommend such high numbers for triglycerides? Dr Mason is saying they need to be down around 0.8 or you run the risk of pattern B LDL and from observations I've made with others I've come across, he seems to be correct.
    As for my own numbers. They got to 5.6 and then I needed a couple of stents. That was a complete shock to me, as I considered myself relatively fit and healthy, not marathon fit, but still reasonable I thought. I had no concerns about my health or diet before the stents. I've obviously learnt the error of my ways 😀
    Now low carb and high fat, mainly red meat and my triglycerides which were 5.6, are now 0.6. HDL also improved from 1.0 to 2.1 and all I did was change my diet. LDL went up significantly as well, but hopefully it's the pattern A type, at 0.6 and 2.1, it certainly should be. Unfortunately, in this backwater, New Zealand, a fractionated lipids test isn't available to find out for sure.

    Ever heard of the Rendel cycle if you add fat to carbs both are fuel which means the carbs are used cause our body Sees carbs as poison this means ithe carbs are digested and transfered out of the body and the fat is stored as body fat. If you want to know how the rendel cycle works Look up Bart Kay‘s channel.

    • @HealthCoachKait
      @HealthCoachKait  8 дней назад +2

      There is so much happening in the body and it’s not worth stressing over every little process. Paring carbs with fat to avoid a spike is better than eating carbs alone.

    • @SimiAcheronsDemon
      @SimiAcheronsDemon 8 дней назад

      @ I‘m carb intolerant due my Body don’t produces much or Non of the enzym amylase which Starts the digestion of carbs in the mouth, I stay between zero and 5g of carbs in my food cause even eggs and meat has carbs per day then I feel good. If I eat more carbs the bloating starts and the belly cramps aka constipation also my chronic pain in my bones, muscles, joints and ligaments are coming back in full blown.

    • @HealthCoachKait
      @HealthCoachKait  8 дней назад

      @@SimiAcheronsDemon yes, carb intolerance is different than what you are describing with the randle cycle though.
