My 3 girls grew up with 3 Germans Shepherd Dogs, umpteen cats as were worked with a cat charity fostering them., rabbits, hamsters, hens raised from new born chickens and rescued hens, tropical fish, cows, horses, cattle. They are all aware of the care animals needed and have tried to look after their own choices but housing sometimes refused them and we took on the animals so they could still have the link

I think Pekinese are supposed to be double coated dog but you have to shave it all off. It’s bad but you had no choice.
