fadirsm, Hilda isn't stating that this book is "only" Assyrian food. These recipe's come from "HER" mom and that's the reason she wrote this book. If it was a "MIDDLE EASTERN" recipe book, it would have been the size of and Encyclopedia from A-Z.
Hilda, does your book have a recipie for takhratha? I love it and trying to find a recipie for it and i cant find one anywhere! My aunt use to make these for us as a kid but she has passed away and i miss having them and would love to have a recipie for them! Please let me know! And she also use to make up potato chop the same way u make them YUM!!!
Many of the food Assyrians make are also made by other nationalities in the Middle East. Assyrians are originally from Iraq anyways, so it would make sense that we would all make the same or similar food. I however, wrote an Assyrian cookbook, which is the reason for this video... I'm hoping to do more as time permits. Thanks for your comment!
@JennyJennJenSD, are you referring to kitleteh? Small, oval shaped meat patties? If so, yes I do have the recipe in the book. If that's not what you are referring to, describe it and I will let you know if it's in there. Take care!
i like the idea of using potato flaks. thank you for sharing this recipe with us!

They are usually made with real potatoes, but my sister showed me this simpler method. Hope that answers your question!
