Will Patton really ran the emotional gamut in this film; going from the cool, sociable assistant to Hackman, to decisive man of action as the plot gets underway, and finally to delicate devastation here as Hackman prepares to throw him to the wolves. The man has always been a powerhouse actor.
“CALL OFF THE SEARCH NOW!” “Listen to me, I will give you anything you want.” … and Bruce was true to his word after Pritchard shot himself, he made everyone think he was Yuri to call it off.
Will Patton is a brilliant actor and a force of nature. I got the creeps up my spine the first time I saw him as Horst in "After Hours." Only a brilliant actor can pull that off. Kudos also to Gene Hackman's "don't touch me" bitchy vibe. That took guts.
just watched it again and it really does hold up well...am currently watching Yellowstone....Kevin is just sensational in it...so good to see him on screen again albeit on TV
Gene Hackman, Kevin Costner and Will Patton. All legends in acting. This was an amazing movie when I saw this in the theaters with my dad 37 years ago.
Absolutely! It was all so stilted. This was one of several unintentionally humorous scenes in no way out. Another was when David came home and confronted his horny two timing mistress about her weekend excursion and ended up slapping her around.
It reminds me of another Gene Hackman movie like this which also had the late Fred Dalton Thompson which was class action made 4 years after this film. Both Colin friels and Donald moffat's characters were sneaky and reminded me of Patton and Hackman in this film.
Feel bad for will patton's character here. Guy only wanted to help his friend out and then hackman's character turns his back on him by siding with a soviet spy
Did you know that Kevin Costner and Gene Hackman would have reunited on another conspiracy thriller like the fugitive in which they would have been in the lead roles that went to Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones instead?
This movie is tremendous. One of the greatest of all time. It pains me that it doesn’t feature regularly in discussions over what is the greatest film ever made…because it should!
@@Mr.Goodkat the only coincidence is the twist itself. And you need dramatic license in film. For me it’s the most ingenious twist of all. David Brice to tom: Help me out...help me out... Help me out...I will give you anything you want. I...will...give... You anything you want ....help me out..." Lol. What a slimeball. And They're like leaning into each other up against the door. Wow.

He was great
I liked him in Gone in Sixty Seconds aswell....played the exact opposite of this guy...
Watch him in "A Shock To The System" - plays a detective in a black comedy. Really good.
He played Pritchard well the most obnoxious film character I’ve ever seen
Yeah, Will Patton did do a great job of acting in this movie.
Will Patton did not get the recognition he deserved for this performance. The guy was beautiful.
I can certainly agree that Will Patton deserved an Oscar nomination.
Will Patton was amazing in this role.
You could see Pritchard's devastation of being betrayed by Brice. Great acting.
Mr Gene Hackman.........What a real Actor
"David, he hasn't a shred of proof!" I love Will Patton in this movie! One of his best performances ever!

Will Patton is so good at being creepy.
This was a great movie and Will Patton was excellent
Calling Will Patton a character actor disingenuous. He may not be the leading man but he is there because of his immense talent
Great close-quarter acting from these three. A thespian treat!
Love this movie. Will Patton (Scott Pritchard) was riveting! Should have got a supporting oscar nod imo. He was THAT good.
Did he get a nom?

Superman's dad vs. Superman's nemesis.
!!!!!
I can't believe any of these three actors did not get an academy award for this movie
Did any get noms. Patton should have at the least got a nomination
Patton stole the show
Too much attention focused on Hackman's "Superman 4" and Costner's "Untouchables" probably?
“CALL OFF THE SEARCH NOW!”

2:30 Ben Carson to the rescue!
He was a Neurosurgeon and actor before he turned to politics and became the secretary of housing and urban developments😉😏
It would be easy to compare this ending to basic instinct...the difference is...This movie is clever.

Friends still quote this line often. 😅
People thought SALT was a great movie....haven't seen the original NO WAY OUT.
Will Patton is a hell of an actor, incredibly belieavable in his many movies.
The homoerotic undertones in this scene are incredible, lol.
Yeah it's creepy how those guys have like a Mr. Burns and Smithers thing going on Lol
He was implying he was in love with him ? That he Into men and he was jealous of Susan ? Correct ?
1:42 The way he says "David" always made me laugh 🤣🤣
It sounds like Dwight from The Office. Michael!!
it cracked me up how Patton was trying to kiss Hackman lol
No he wasn't!

Smithers
He wasn't trying to kiss him. He was trying to cradle Brice's head in his hands to get his direct attention, the way a mom would with her little boy.

Hackman maybe the villain but Patton takes the mantle of true evil in the movie. Very underrated actor.

Pritchard - J. Jonah Jameson after No Way Home
Farrell - Me

That would have been phenomenal. Ford and Tommy Lee are two of the most wooden, unappealing actors I have ever seen
Either way I'd have loved to see Costner get chased by Hackman or Jones or even Jon voight.
This thriller was like watching one of the old greek tragedy. Such a climactic scene including three remarkable actors of their own right.
