    Those floor drains do love the sacrificial 10mm sockets! But it’s the ones out in the wild you have to look out for - they love sacrificial keys, wallets sunglasses and cellphones!

    Hi again Scott, great job as usual. It is amazing and you are teaching people, that buying a part, front clip in this instance, and saving it and holding on for just the right time, just how much you can save. I too, with experience, love the taking apart portion of doing any build. Not really sure of the arrangement you have with the shop owner, but, it sure is great to have everything at your disposal. Lastly, you are one guy that likes tools,,, the name that you use and quality is second to none. Way to go for teaching people,,, 30 years plus, helps! Fan from Canada!

    Happy Friday Scott!
    Great project, amazing they totaled that ride which allowed you to harvest it for short money and use all your stash of parts leftovers. Going to be an interesting repair as usual. Clean title will help with resale value I would think.
    Glad Mr. Spotty showed up for work in this segment, always cool to see where he's hanging out helping you....Work safe, enjoy your weekend. See ya on Tuesday again next week? Hope so.

    • @vehcor

      I think my leftover parts tricked me into another Ford build. Clean titles are always easier to sell especially on the expensive vehicles. I have a video I wanted to do for Tuesday but I don’t think my computer can handle the editing required so I might have to wait. I’ll see if I can find something else. Take care, until next time!

    About non-salvage title cars. The good guys, like vehcor, buy these cars - and fully disclose the title issue to the buyer. The buyer then gets to buy a car as if it isn't a salvage title - which allows them to get a reasonable rate bank loan on the car, sure it was wrecked but it's also worth 30% less.... good on you Scott, love the knowledge and how tos... and, okay, I'll be honest... the afternoon crew.

    • @vehcor
      @vehcor  4 года назад +5

      I have a hard time hiding my work since I post it on the internet. lol These videos were originally only to show buyers what was done. In addition to getting a loan, all insurance companies will cover it with a clear title and it still has the balance of the factory warranty which is important because.... Ford. LOL

    12:35 nice of them to use open cell foam adhesive. I bet in about 5 years you'll find these things rusting out like the F150 rear fenders. The foam they used there was designed to tramp water and dirt and rust out the fenders almost immediately. WHen I went to repair the rust on mine when I pulled the foam out water poured out when I squeezed it.
    Brilliant idea Ford! "Where quality is job none".

    You're lucky to have no sunroof - as you know, they all leak, sooner or later. A cheap basketball stuffed behind the dent in the passenger side front door and then inflated to a fairly high PSI will pop out the dent, if the paint surface is above about 80 degrees F when you do it. Don't expect the basketball to survive the process. Glad to see you take on this project.

    Nice job on scoring a clean title. Should be a decent return especially with the other parts vehicle. That's how a guy makes it in this business. Kinda like Tetris stack parts away keeping an eye out for the long brick. LOL.

    • @vehcor
      @vehcor  4 года назад +1

      I always try for the clean titles but they are usually too expensive. Sometimes you buy parts for the build you have, sometimes you buy a build for the parts you have. lol

    That floor drain looks like it can really suck some sockets. Have you tested the range? What is the max distance it will grab a socket from? Does it prefer more expensive sockets, or will Harbor Freight sockets work?

    I took autobody in Vocational school back in 1986, It was alot of fun , great bunch of guys and the cars were still built like cars.
    I don't think I would have the patience to work on todays vehicles, too much plastic, too many clips and well they just seem junky.
    I still enjoy watching though, Last summer I did the rockers, floor and paint on a 73 MGB. I guess we stick to what we know.
    Stay safe

    Why are some people such a holes as evidenced by the a hole comment below. If you are a fan of this channel you would know that Scott is a master technician and his repairs are top notch. I would embrace having a car that was rebuilt by Scott. I know the car would be better than it was when it left the factory. If you do not appreciate his har work and dedication go watch tik tok. Keep up the great work Scott.

      Some people are just jealous and/or looking for attention. That one is clearly misinformed and believes he is very knowledgable on rebuilds. That all seems to be a trend these days. The internet has made too many people comfortable with being disrespectful and not being punched in the face for it.

      Lots of theft recoveries up there. I have gotten a few. That branch isn’t known for their great care of the vehicles. I always plan on some damage underneath, just part of the process. The good thing was a little disappointing though. Completely avoidable!

    I have never seen anyone do a better job on rebuilding cars. Additionally the salvage inspection in Georgia is Horrible and most used cars on the road in GA would FAIL! I love clean title cars that need a little work. I build them for our own use and believe me, if my family is driving it, It will be SAFE!!!
