Never seen or known such a diverse mechanic who is completely fearless to tackle anything. Enjoy the videos thanks for giving us your most precious and limited gift, your time. Ag mechanic myself, humbling watching All you take on
I would love to spend a week out on the road on jobs like this with you. I was doing this type of work on plant over 35 years ago so can see how much hard work goes into it and your know how. You are a dieing breed my friend . Great videos
It's inspiring to watch you Warren. Watching you with your 'can do' attitude really helps me with my attitude to fix the problem no matter how daunting it looks. Thank you! Keep up the great videos and hard work!
Beginner diesel tech here, only about 3 years under my belt fulltime working on Heavy trucks, watching your videos truly inspires me to be the best mechanic i can possibly be. i hope to be half as knowledgeable as you someday man, keep it up, us greenhorns look up to guys like yiu
I just started watching you this year. I just have a RV with a Cummins 400isl. There are not to many mechanic like yourself that work hard to make sure that the customer is happy, and not take short cuts. God bless you and your wife. PLEASE KEEP THE VIDEOS COMING.
When it rains, it pours. This is heresy but... Raise your rates! You'll make the same money and work less. I know, you think if you raise your rate, nobody will use you. You are a great mechanic. If customers are after cheap instead of good, well. As you say "Fuck-em" You're a pro. Charge like you are.
23 yrs young, been working on strip mines and mechanicing sense 18. We rebuild buckets, blades, bed liners, for equipment that most people never get to see, big stuff, just started working on 3500 series cat about a 15,000 pound engine. I've never missed a day of work, came in late twice in 4 years and the boss knew the evening before! Hardly ever see anyone my age working around what I do. People wouldn't know what I done to get a job, first off I showed up a million times until hired, called evry few days and told them what I could do, been raised around this my whole life, anyways they gave me a job and have never had any regret or problems from me sense and I tell them almost monthly at every big saftey meeting how grateful I am for them letting me get my foot in the door, make good $ and learn from everyone. I tell them all the time I owe them for experience lol
It's hard, you really want a young guy you can train right but then you don't have the time to train him. Then the other option is to get a guy that already knows it all but doesn't really know shit and then just ends up costing you money. I feel your pain man!
You are busy you really need someone that has experience to stay behind and take care of the shop work. Enjoying your videos you have a wealth of knowledge.
Just a thought, Warren, but I'd possibly put the word out to my local veterans' organizations. Some fella fresh out of the service might just be needing work. He'd know how to show up on time and do what he was asked to do...
Course you’d have to have foolproof, step by step instructions with illustrations to get them to do anything. Then you’d need someone else to double check and sign off that it was correct. Probably just best to hire a farm kid that knows how to work on everything. Not just the one or two options the military uses and the aforementioned “breaking” that requires a childishly simple manual to do anything.
Warren, I hope you find the right guy but just remember, BAD HELP IS ALWAYS WORSE THAN NO HELP! I'm a heavy diesel mechanic and we are having a hell of a time finding guys that don't need a babysitter. Great videos, keep up the good work.
As always hard work in the field!! Hope you find a young guy who is interest to work with heavy equipment. I remember when I was young and practice with a local mechanic It was rely good time. Now when I am retired from working with CT scanners and MRI system I take up it again an work on my old veteran tractors. Good Luck to you and hope you find a young guy to help you.
I wouldn't mine a single bit to work for you. I wouldn't even mind to clean the entire shop. So much to learn just by watching you, let alone being on your shop. I'm 24, I can do most of the stuff. I've built a backhoe myself, finished at 18 years old and I do most of mechanical stuff myself. The only con I have is that I'm from Portugal.
good morning...i have seen lots of mechanic in my time....you are one of the best i have ever seen. i think you should charge a few dollars more...i don't think you will loose anything. have a very good day. Ray . from Canada ..
i can do some things on my cars but always wished i could do more.. i guess that's why i like Warren's videos so much. He takes you along while turning the wrenches. l have a few things working against me.. lack of knowledge, lack of tools, no patience, too much fear and worry and being over 50 it's getting harder to get on the ground roll around and get back up.. sucks man.
Edward Martinez I can work on the old stuff just as easily because it’s simple. Which is probably why you’re saying you know how to do anywhibt anyways. It’s so easy a monkey could do it. That’s the cool thing about having my skill set. You old hacks wish you had and understanding and grasp of modern technology. I’m not impressed that you think you can gap a set of points or adjust a carburetor, I can too. It’s not that tough. You oldsters wanna feel important and special so badly but it’s painfully obvious the generation of techs like myself have to know 10 times what old school techs did and the systems are 100 times lore complicated than that simple old crap you all think is such an accomplishment to work on.
Edward Martinez also I don’t know what that other flag you put next to the American flag is but please doesn’t disrespect the greatest country in the world by placing a flag of a lesser nation beside it.
Hey bud I didn’t finish watching the video but just wanted to say that you are a rare breed, your talent skill knowledge workmanship and work ethic are extremely rare today! You do what it takes to get the jobs done and you devote many long hours doing so . I know your overwhelmed with work right now and are seeking help but I know you ! Your a one man machine and I think your gonna be more stressed out hiring another wrench that’s gonna meet your expectations . I’m not saying you can’t find the right person but just a lot more things to consider! Ok well that’s my two cents lol!
5:43: about having 20 thousand Jobs to do and feeling awkward when you do not, the fear of having pissed some client off, etc. Exactly my feelings in my work as a translator. Maybe they are treats of every workaholic! Well, at least we enjoy what we do!
Finally got time to finish watching your video! Great as usual bud and remember if you ever need anything please reach out I’m glad to help , you have my # thanks for sharing 👍 take care now
If ya didnt live so far away I'd help ya out and do the in frame too I'll be loaded up with work soon it always happens just like ya say. All at once they come 👍
Hey warren been watching a lot of your videos really enjoy your your work. I'm a mechanic iv learned a lot from you. How do I apply for the job opening you got
If I lived closer to you I would come help you out after I got off work. That’s a lot of stuff to fix by yourself. But it’s a good problem to have. I think your only like 4 hours from me
I know too problem of low trailers. Wheel change is beginning of putting something between axle and chassi, then jack under axle. Other cannot get wheel away and new on place under flatbeds side. And need min 20 metric tons jack.
Well brother I'm not a bubble head but i am a engineman. Yea it great when its slow but it sucks. the heavy work load makes the time fly and when days done make ya fill like you accomplished something
Its Jan 2021 as I watch your roadside assist. With you hidden away under the truck my mind wandered to how all those trucks thundering past in each direction can be powered by a new green deal in an economical way with solar and battery power. Pretty much impossible I reckon.
Warren I’m watching and screaming lift the trailer body and not the axles 😆 lol Do you charge a call out fee/travel time or include it in your hourly rate?
6:50 And your hired help , Doesn't Mind Getting His Mitts ( hands) Dirty....Where theres muck there's money and I love getting stuck in and glarred to the Arse in oil grease and when it's working again that's the reward for your endeavours besides a few bucks in the Hip.WTr&TrRpr Cushti video and I'm even learning a few tips etc thanks.👍
If you do hire some one I pray you find some one that has some experince in common sense and loyalty other or you will be spending your valuable time repairing what he screws up and no mater what, it`s your reputation that`s at stake. I`ll be rooting for you. keep posting when you have time.
As long as I been doing this I don't think I've seen that specific type of hub and drum assembly. From what I can remember. Looks like a fairly stupid design.
I hope you have a work on POS rate. They could keep the work equipment in better shape and not leave the mechanic to patch everything back together just to get it working. Happy wrenching.
🇬🇧 Great video. Thanks Warren. I still can’t get over how wanky those wheels are!! Only 6 nuts hold a wheel on. WTF. I know you do things differently over there but seems way under engineered. Wow.
Actually that style of hub and wheel setup is heavier duty and will hold more weight than a standard hub and wheel with 10 nuts and bolts. All those 6 bolts do is keep the wheels from coming off of the hub all of the weight in on the wheel instead of the bolts.
Hello. Those types of diggers give you a bad back because of the way you are sat has apposed to the levers. On the new JBCs the levers are on the sides of the seat like the 360 degrees diggers. Better for you.
Who builds a trailer that is such a pain in the ass to get a tire on? We had a bucket truck on the last job that used to pop the c clip off the control handle after taking it to the dealer one time I bought a bag full of the clips so that if I couldn't find the one that had popped off I could fix it so we could keep working. Do you have anything other than long days?
Hate to break it to you but you need more than one yeah you need like two guys you have lotta work to do there but good luck I’ll be watching your videos been missing you but I’m sure you’re busy doing other things that you appreciate your videos
When it comes to hiring, you need to be patient. The right kid would be great if you let him make mistakes and learn. Time is needed. something you dont seem to have. You mentioned you have a son.
In the future why not use your truck crane to lift the trailer rear-end vs jack...block....jack....block....jack....block. Time is money. BUT keep the vid coming really enjoy your work ethics!
Warren how much is a service call like this cost ? As busy as you are, to lay, crawl, sitting in gravel that you have done on this service call you'd have to charge a ridiculous amount !
Hi Warren , isn't your son interested in becoming your trainee , I've seen him in another of your videos and looks about the right age.....! All the best buddy.....👍 Edit....just realised this video is a year old......😀
Hey bud wouldn't your crain pick up on the bed and leave the jack on axle ? I kept yelling at the video say'n crain crain use the crain Ha Ha dud e you also need to get you a water jug on the truck and make a umbrells stand to hold a old JD tractor umbrella you can swing around and tilt etc. Man hate too hear you burned yourself up!!!! We took a guy, to the hospital just today, who whent down due to the heat!!! Your only tuff till you hurt your self then your done.
Question, is it legal or illegal to just chain that axle up and continue to the nearest shop? Here in KS, I see this all the time, to where the axle is just chained up. Neat to know you were a submariner. I worked on subs, as a civilian for 36 years. Thank you for your service
So Warren got a easy fix,he said. Skill is knowing both why and how to make the repair. Great job guy.
I just started watching you this year. I just have a RV with a Cummins 400isl. There are not to many mechanic like yourself that work hard to make sure that the customer is happy, and not take short cuts. God bless you and your wife. PLEASE KEEP THE VIDEOS COMING.
"It just needs a charge" LOL customers , ya got to love them.

Hello Warren I enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge Sir! You are a awesome mechanic.

Fast thinking is what I see, keep the videos flowing. Multitask type of person, task driven, great attitude guy.
It's hard, you really want a young guy you can train right but then you don't have the time to train him. Then the other option is to get a guy that already knows it all but doesn't really know shit and then just ends up costing you money. I feel your pain man!
God I wish I could've been that kid! I decided to start my own company because I couldn't find a good person to be under. If only florida was closer!
One thing about you bud... You sure love your dogs.. (Family Members)….
You are busy you really need someone that has experience to stay behind and take care of the shop work. Enjoying your videos you have a wealth of knowledge.

John Baugh my thoughts exactly the same. Get some folk that know how to work pas4 a stubbed toe or scraped finger.
Course you’d have to have foolproof, step by step instructions with illustrations to get them to do anything. Then you’d need someone else to double check and sign off that it was correct.

Dude, you earned your pay on that roadside call for the trailer. I don't know what you charged but it wasn't enough :-)
Warren if you find a kid to help tell him to leave the I phone at home.

Yeah because I don’t use my iPhone almost daily to look up specs or find information for my work as a mechanic.

Hello Warren. It's nice to have your friends with you.
I know you survived to put up the video, but I still said a prayer when I saw you use those 2 chunks of wood as a jack stand.
i dont see how you do it all by your self thats crazy
If ya didnt live so far away I'd help ya out and do the in frame too I'll be loaded up with work soon it always happens just like ya say. All at once they come 👍
surprised you didn't just slide the hub and what was left of the drum off and drag it to the shop, looks hot out there in the sun buddy.
Great video!!! Stay cool!!!
Dang that is one busy road you had to work beside!! Gawkers in my state would have run into your service truck😂
Wish you were oregon, it’d be fun to tag along with you and learn all the tricks of the trade!
Your a bloody grafter! Keep up the videos they are very interesting!
Sure would like to come help Warren. Enjoyed the video.

never thought I would see a truck in that shape in Calefornia. I hear horor storys about the DOT in that state.
how the hell did my flashlight wind up on your dash I`m 3000 miles away LOL It`s a good one

Warren if I didn't live so far away I'd drop everything and come to work for you if you wanted haha.
love his dogs
My boss said that if you have more business than you can handle, you aren't charging enough.
Had to stop watching half way through to take a break and drink a cold beer. Whew!
where did you get those nice pads ?? you are kneeling on ??
Two things came to my mind when you were struggling with the tire. The crane or a shovel.
114. Damn. That's nasty there. Don't know what the hell I'd do if it got that hot here. Holy shit 😵
Don't you just hate it when it seems like you have to stand on your head to do stuff or least it feels that way
If I wasn't so busy myself I would come up and help you to get caught up
What engine is in the hay squeeze? Couldn't hear it properly. Too many years in the trade. I'm in framing a 8.3 cummins at the moment. Same problem.
Ntc 300 formula
You need to take all those air conditioning parts and build yourself a cold tent
That would suck ! 114°F pain in the ass is right , but it pays the bills I guess...
Yes, that place down there gets hot. I try to stay north in the high ground where it's cool.
Wow bizy road lots of trucks aye
As long as I been doing this I don't think I've seen that specific type of hub and drum assembly. From what I can remember. Looks like a fairly stupid design.

So how did the itty bitty tractor (BIG YELLOW) go ? able to find the parts to put it back back together ? You took it apart and ???
Who builds a trailer that is such a pain in the ass to get a tire on?
We had a bucket truck on the last job that used to pop the c clip off the control handle after taking it to the dealer one time I bought a bag full of the clips so that if I couldn't find the one that had popped off I could fix it so we could keep working.

This guy reminds me of Tatro Machine. Hopefully he doesn't kick his dog when his temper flares like Tatro does.
Feast or famine?
In the future why not use your truck crane to lift the trailer rear-end vs jack...block....jack....block....jack....block. Time is money.
BUT keep the vid coming really enjoy your work ethics!
I've worked on trailers like that before and I would never buy one. Can you imagine trying to fix tires on it loaded.
How do you sleep a night with so much work that needs doing.
Warren how much is a service call like this cost ? As busy as you are, to lay, crawl, sitting in gravel that you have done on this service call you'd have to charge a ridiculous amount !
No you need an Old retired guy to take care of shop work. But it's a dry heat:)
I guy that knows everything and won't listen to nothing.
Excellent
Good job
Hi Warren , isn't your son interested in becoming your trainee , I've seen him in another of your videos and looks about the right age.....!
All the best buddy.....👍 Edit....just realised this video is a year old......😀
That wind blowin thru your mike sounds like you are working under water. Anyone from bangor.
North West of Bangor
bright side is..........plenty of work. Better too busy than too quiet.
If u wasn't so far away In California I would be more than willing to help u out on stuff like that
Hey, man. I got a question for you where’s your shop located in California?
Macdoel, ca
That Case loader was beat
In mechanics you have two situations :not enough or to much no in between
Hey bud wouldn't your crain pick up on the bed and leave the jack on axle ? I kept yelling at the video say'n crain crain use the crain Ha Ha dud e you also need to get you a water jug on the truck and make a umbrells stand to hold a old JD tractor umbrella you can swing around and tilt etc. Man hate too hear you burned yourself up!!!! We took a guy, to the hospital just today, who whent down due to the heat!!! Your only tuff till you hurt your self then your done.
Kyle Greer me same thought
Question, is it legal or illegal to just chain that axle up and continue to the nearest shop? Here in KS, I see this all the time, to where the axle is just chained up.
If you get a "kid", go for the "farm kid", they know what work is and what it means or, someone fresh from the military. As someone stated, at least they'll know the what and when to be on time and work safely.
As always, excellent video, keep 'em coming. Cheers :)
Could you do a tour of your service truck?
