      @@bigdoodoo3530 I think it’s just associated with rural living and or uneducated areas of America. In almost every country there are dialects and accents perceived as rough/dirty/informal, because those speakers are often from undereducated areas or it’s possible that the official/proper dialects taught are usually the “formal” versions. Probably why most people hold the stereotype that the British accent is the most distinguished and high class because it feels the most proper.

      Even schoolchildren can recognize *the in-commensurable power and intelligence* involved to obtain this reality with intelligent beings from (starting with) such a tremendous event like the Big Bang.
      As there are billions of cells required for us to be able to live this earthly life, in the same way there are required billions of galaxies for the intelligent life to be created intentionally to have 100% freedom, like humans on Earth (think how wonderful the Creator is, the opposite of a dictator, to create this reality in this way, with 100% freedom). He has told us to live in freedom but to not use freedom as a cover-up for evil. Unfortunately, Satan, the fallen angels, respectively their tools in this reality - the evil=stupid humans - have used (are using) the freedom offered by God to do evil. However, all will be judged 100% correctly by God/Jesus and all will receive what they deserve.
      No matter how many times some atheists will keep denying the obvious/proven truths, without at least one valid argument to sustain their denying, anyone can see that all their questions are answered (into my messages posted recently on such videos), but they cannot answer to just one question:
      *Are you, finally, willing to recognize the fact that you cannot be the result of no intelligence?*
      All the best!

It shows the reality is, you are more well rounded and consistently debunk subjective belief systems in general, and that this is the point. @sunilchoudhury8957 3 года назад

      This makes no sense. You need to learn about deductive logic a little better if you believe that this is all apologists are doing.
      In a deductive argument, a valid argument doesn't necessarily result in an accurate conclusion..... but if the premises of a valid argument are true, then the conclusion is necessarily true.
      An argument can be valid, but contain false premises.... in this case the conclusion isn't necessarily true
      The bottom line is that you need to test the truth of the premises in order to determine if an argument is both valid and true.
      Eg.
      1. All dogs have hats
      2. Harry is a dog
      3. Therefore Harry has a hat.
      This would be an example of a valid argument, but as we know that not all dogs have hats, we have insufficient information to conclude if Harry indeed has a hat.
      However if the argument was
      1. All dogs are mammals
      2. Harry is a dog
      3. Therefore Harry is a mammal
      This would be an example of a valid argument by which the premises are true, resulting in the conclusion being necessarily true.
      Therefore, if an apologist presents a valid argument, and the premises are accurate- the conclusion must necessarily be accurate.
      I hope this helps

      @sunilchoudhury8957 3 года назад

      @Jinn Genie ummm... ok, William Lane Craig's defence of the Kalam Cosmological Argument seems to do a pretty good job of this.
      There's a few steps to the argument, but it's sound. Rather than breaking the argument down for you (I suggest studying his defence of it slowly and carefully in your own time) , I'll just explain how it works...
      His argument establishes that the universe had a cause, examines deductively the necessary properties of the cause, and provides a deductive interpretation of all of this to conclude that the cause must be intelligent and personal.

    • @sunilchoudhury8957
      @sunilchoudhury8957 3 года назад

      @Jinn Genie "the universe has a cause" is a premises that depends on the universe beginning to exist. This premise is supported by both the big bang theory and by string theory, which are theories typically championed by atheists.... assuming either are correct, the universe has a beginning.
      The rest of what you say about Craig is ad hominem, which is foolishly something you persist in using time and time again.

    • @sunilchoudhury8957
      @sunilchoudhury8957 3 года назад

      @Jinn Genie then the premise you're disputing is his first premise, not the second premise.
      So your objection is that you aren't convinced that anything which begins to exist has a cause for it's existence.
      There are 4 types of causes. Material, formal, final, and efficient.
      In this occasion we are discussing something called "efficient causation"' which is an antecedent condition by which something is brought about... by necessity, if something begins to exist there must be something antecedent behind it... if things could just pop into existence uncaused, then why don't we ever see random things manifest out of nowhere at random?
      Are you really trying to rest your coat on something that really came into existence being entirely uncaused? That doesn't make sense.
      It would make sense to say that there is no material cause for material initially existing... but to assume no efficient cause at all is entirely irrational. As Craig puts it "that's worse than magic, because with magic you at least have the magician to pull the rabbit out of the hat - and the hat, too."
      And I disagree that Craig has no understanding of science. He doesn't just use deductive arguments, but also inductive arguments (which is the form of argumentation scientific theory is built on) - and he inductively argues from scientific observations at times, too - which is how the scientific method is conducted. It isn't just the collecting and presenting of data, but also a rationalised interpretation of data.
      Even the scientists who argue that the universe "came from nothing" acknowledge that by "nothing", they actually mean "nothing physical", and that an efficient cause still exists.
      The Big Bang Theory, and String Theory are indeed theories supported by scientists - yet as I previously evidenced, 51% of scientists have some kind of theistic belief... you were mistaken the first time you made the claim that most scientists (around 80%) are atheists, but after I shared the research - you're just being dishonest by making this claim.
      And ad hominem is a common sign someone is experiencing cognitive dissonance... so how do you think you're coming across right now?

    I am a theoretical biologist who also believes in God. I enjoyed this video, but I would like to make some remarks.
    You and the guy in the video are both coming from very similar viewpoint, which (from my limited knowledge of modern philosophy) comes from the anglophone sphere which enjoys analytical philosophy. The anglo-american world applies entirely different reasoning about ideas than we, who are descendants of the "continental" streamline of philosophy, as we are the heirs of Husserl, Heidegger, Bergson and others, who have different way of reasoning and values. it seems to me that you guys (and other prominent figures in the far-western atheism/theism debate, like Lennox, Dawkins, Lawrence, going back to Russel, Paley etc.) operate in a very narrow framework which, in my honest opinion, lacks imagination. You think of yourselves as diametrically opposite, but it seems to me you really are not.
    I love btw how Darwin is basically your prophet and Origin of species is your divinely inspired Book of the Law.
    Let me give you some examples:
    1) you both apply weird logic to your "rational" arguments. You "debunk" his third "proof" (from design) by appealing to nasty things in nature. i can honestly tell you that as a biologist there is no thing more interesting and life-promoting than parasitism. There are theories which say that parasitism is one of the main driving forces of evolution. When you study the relationships between the parasite and the host, an entire world of BEAUTY opens up to you, you see both organisms striving, fighting, even cooperating at times... I can honestly tell you that honest study of biology (and I would say that deep study of anything does that) shows you how nothing is inherently disgusting, evil or nasty. And this is what I found interesting about your "debunking", you completely shifted your position from a "rationality rules" to "my human feelings rule", since you just "feel" that some forms of parasitism or cancer are "just not right". But I can really easily imagine how a good God brings forth a world such as ours. You just need the eyes to see it, which doesn't (contrary to what someone might think) involve self-deception, but study!
    2) Narrow idea of God. You and the guy in the video are exactly the same by virtue of utilizing the same primitive view of God. What if God is what you call "laws of nature"? What if God is an abstract category as Being itself? What if God is the innermost basis of your subjectivity? What if God is the Entirety of all that exists? What if God is ones conscience? What if God is my t-shirt? What if money is my God? What if God is found solely in 'the story' of Israel? What if God is only in stories? What if the Sun, the Moon, sky or the Earth is God? But the problem is that you both claim to KNOW who or what God is and that is irritating, since you both have very primitive and child-like idea of God as some sort of mental/ethereal skydaddy. You mock believers for believing in a skydaddy, but then you come down to their level and don't have the imagination for other possibilities. Aquinas' Summa shouldn't be read because of his five ways to win arguments, but to get the grasp of what he actually means by God!
    But not to critique only you, the video guy also said a lot of nonsense:, I am always irritated by these so called "rational proofs" presented in this cocky "gotcha atheists" manner, but I am also irritated by your "gotcha theists" cocky manners, since there is a world of possibilities that you aren't exploring and yet you have the gut to say what is or isn't true

"Design requires a designer" - this statement is true (and redundant) but you have failed to demonstrate that the universe has been designed - you can't assume that to prove your conclusion unless you can back it up. And "appears to be designed" is not sufficient - a stain on a wall that looks like a face might "appear to be designed" but may better be explained (or may be known) to be caused by natural phenomena. Same principle applies with the universe.

      1- Our observations tell us that everything we see is a result of an earlier manufacturing process.
      2- The design that we see comes from the fact that if we dissemble any created machine (an atom, a molecule, a living cell, a living creature, a planet, a solar system, a galaxy...) we find that it's disassembly and reassembly requires strict processes, which follow strict physical laws. Now, we are not saying that the universe and our bodies were designed to be perfect and last for eternity, but this doesn't negate the fact that everything we can observe and measure requires manufacturing according to laws and specifications, and thus, are designed. Otherwise, everything can be manufactured by self-organizing self-assembly reactions.
      3- As for the life emerging from non-living elements, we have no information and no understanding of how it happens and what are the manufacturing processes that are done to bring anything that is living. Now, we know that earth didn't have life at its early days, so for that we say that life was created by an invisible external force.
      4- As for the moral case, it exists only because we define ourselves as higher than animal species that is connected to higher than life force, but otherwise, humans will be no different than any other biological creatures who follow the food chain laws.
      5- Free will is a simulated feeling that God has implanted in us.

That would mean he is entirely responsible for the multitudes of suffering and the whole situation really. My moral compass works like this: do not intentionally cause harm to any other living being. Some of our actions cause harm without us knowing, for this we cannot be held responsible. But the actions people take to intentionally cause harm are morally wrong. Now compare that with eternal punishment for a 'crime' that doesn't harm anyone. It's safe to say that all versions of 'divine' morality are disgusting. Peace to you friend.
