And whilst the English lanaguge has 30% origin in French that doesn’t mean you’re going to be able to understand anyway near that amount of French without studying it just because you can speak English. Imo, That’s why the overlap on language doesn’t feel as large as it is, but the Norman conquest did certainly change the language quite a lot. However, it is a Germanic language with influence from a few places.

    • @Handle0108
      @Handle0108 Год назад +1

      @@archivesoffantasy5560 the reason you can’t understand French to that degree as an English speaker is because both languages tend to change the pronunciation of the base Latin/Greek words quite a bit. Whereas if you look at languages that are closer in pronunciation to the Latin root words like Spain and Italy it’s much easier for them to understand each other.
      So it’s a matter of pronounciation and not necessarily different words that are difficult to understand. I say this as someone who speaks both.

    481, Corronation of Clovis as King of the Franks.
    843, creation of the Kingdom of West Frankia after the death of Charlemagne.
    987, Hughes Capet's corronation and the kingdom is now called Kingdom of France.

      Germany was created in 1870, France was created in one of the three dates I gave you, Italy was created in 1861 etc... there wasn't the need to invent the concept of "modern X" when the countries have a clear date of origin.

    2. How did you have religious stats in France ? As it’s illegal to make stats based on ethnicity, skin colour and religion, there is no stats existing about that (yes yes, completely illegal, because for the french law, it’s hateful to make such statists)

    They have historical rivalry and always compete like siblings
    But they also were allies like siblings too
    Major “only I can tease uk/France now GIVE IT TO ME”
    I could actually see them as siblings
    And the kings actually kinda help it more
    France kept the ancient Romans stuff and encouraged to paint like them in charlemagnes ruling while uk taught how to read during the ruling of Alfred the great,even though they were different time periods it just makes it even out as the British could read and the french had preserved the writing and paintings.

    My partner is French and I am English, and there is no way in hell that the standards of living in France are worse than those in the UK. France has better public transport, you can access a doctor more easily, healthcare works out cheaper as you get money back from your insurance in France, rent is cheaper, food is better quality, university is free (the UK's unis are the most expensive in the world), house quality seems to better as tenants actually have rights, people are healthier, streets are cleaner, the government aren't as corrupt (the corruption in the UK over the last thirteen years has destroyed the country and some reports now consider it a developing country due to a lack of access to basic services and high levels of poverty), there is better access to nature and energy bills are cheaper - I could go on all day.
