    As a Californian our flag is not a flag from "when we were in Mexico" it was the flag used by Americans during the bear flag revolt, which is the rebellion that secured Californian independence briefly before becoming a US state.

    Normally just lurk, but higher rent is also a function of more demand for one place. California's population is still about 1/3 higher than Texas. If more people want to move to texas than prices will go up accordingly (just like about every real estate market during the pandemic did). It's partly why "just move out of the city" isn't a solution to high cost of living situations.

      My city's prices have skyrocketed as we've gotten more and more Californian liscense plates and short lived businesses with California in the name.
      Move out doesn't seem to fix it. The prices come with.

      This gotta be the least educated economic take I've seen. A 1/3 population difference wouldn't raise the cost of a house by 600k dollars. Obviously supply and demand exist, but it would not triple the housing market.

    Also California’s Central Valley which is a valley with the coastal mountain range to the west and Sierra Nevada mountain range to the east inclosing it. Is the worlds 3rd or 5th largest producer of fruits and vegetables in the world and alone supplies America with more then half of the US’s fruit and vegetables.

      I live there! Besides the constant 110 degree weather and droughts, like when its rainy for a good while, it is an amazing place. Not to mention very fresh produce, a great and large farmers market in my city, and the mountains that for half the year when the air quality is good are visible and beautiful from most the town. The Yosemite national park is also a favorite. Also, tons of cool little towns. In Columbia, a town in California mountains, they have a whole wild west theme with cars banned for half the town and horses common.

    I’m currently in the process of moving to Texas with my family to buy a home and finally achieve the American dream. After 13 years of working our asses off we finally are making it happen. I love both states regardless of political reason, I love Californias beautiful forest and beaches I’ve been to so many times. But I’m looking forward to the beautiful city of Houston and it’s people.

      I lived in El Paso for 14 years, horrible weather, nothing to do. Visited Austin, horrible weather, humidity and Dallas, extremely cold winters. South CA has the perfect weather all year round, Breathtaking beaches, gorgeous national parks, lakes, Texas natural beauty cannot be compare with CA. I am was raised in El Paso, moved to CA in 1978.

    I live in California and my dad wanted to live in Texas, Why exactly? Well because the houses in Texas are so so much cheaper than In California as you showed in the video with Texas having 27% Less than the average cost And California having over 90% more than the average. Honestly I would live in Texas if it wasn’t for family.

    Why don't you compare average (median) income of those states and compare it to other countries average (median) income to see where CA and Texas ranks in the world in terms of average salary?

      Fun fact, CA was an independent country as well in 1846, but it was brief. That's when the CA flag with the lone red star and grizzly bear was designed.
