So sorry for all the stuff you guys went through. Believe me, I know how terrible it feels. We went through hurricane Maria here in Puerto Rico. It was horrible! We were just glad to be alive. I had no electricity for 8 months.
I know it is difficult. I survived the April 27, 2011 tornadoes in Cullman, Alabama and felt the same heartbreak that you and your family are experiencing right now. God is good, and He will see you and your family through this. I will be praying for you and your community.
It's a lot of work to clean up and to rebuild your stairs, but you're lucky to have a lot of trees left and a beautiful DRY property....seeing the flooding in NC and TN is next-level devastation
Ive lived thru 3 hurricanes in VA, and nothing touched what we have seen here in East TN. I have lived 30 yrs in VA and 20 years here, and this is the closest to armageddon i have seen.
Glad that you are all safe, life is more precious than things. We lost a hundred year old oak tree and some roof shingles and so thankful for no serious damage to the house-- Laurens County, Dublin Georgia.
Hate to hear that! I’ve noticed the deer are no longer on my cameras either, must be feeding on the buffet of acorns everywhere. Might as well, I’ve got too much work to do anyways
Its a miracle your house didnt get hit, save for the porch. Thx for the vid. Was in Ailey helping clear back roads for folks trapped. Trees blocking roads every 5 to 20 yards for miles and miles in every direction on them back roads. Lots of people blocked in. Hope to see more people going to help out south Georgia!
Praying for you and your community from San Diego, CA and for everyone in the path of Hurricane Helene. The power and sheer force of nature is out of our control and never to be underestimated. Stay safe and God bless.
God bless you and yours. Just fully realizing how blessed we are to have survived with as little loss as possible. God has plans for us all! God bless our neighbors in Florida, the Carolinas and Tennessee as well. The damage I have seen breaks my heart ... so many have lost everything they had and it will take years to build a lot of it back if it ever does.
i live in alma and it’s awful, we spent thursday night scared and praying as we heard shingles being ripped from out roof one by one and heard pine trees being uprooted in our front yard, we can only thank god that we still have a home. i pray that god can bless those who have lost more than us and im glad to hear that god also blessed you, stay safe
I'm on the Sc/Nc border. My 100 ft Japanese white pine tree fell on my walkway bridge. Me and my animals were in the basement. I opened the door and realized I couldn't get out. Yep. To see those trees down it's really sad. I'm sorry. I pray that you get everything done in a timely manner without hurting yourself. They're down. There's time to take.
You are a blessed brother. Keep the faith 🙏 I remember Hugo. I loved in Beaufort SC, then I rode the storm out and witnessed first hand the power of nature. These storms now are super storms
Yeah, I believe I was just a kid when Hugo happened. It seems like we are getting more storms, more often now! Either way, we are grateful for our health and that we have the resources to rebuild!
We came to our house here in Cobbtown , Ga instead of going to my brothers house in Tn because storm. Was going there, but it came here instead. We also were blessed with our pine trees that fell did not fall on the house. We’ve been sawing, raking, toting, burning, lots of blisters, and cooking outside on the blackstone
Your positive attitude throughout your video is to be commended. Wife and I are dual-Army, stationed in Augusta. We evac'd to Columbia. I-20 was a parking lot. Took country roads and it was just as your vid describes. Thanks again and take caee.
A positive attitude is the only way to not lose your mind. Today I got my porch completely cleaned up and ready for new construction hopefully in the next day or so! Thanks yall for your service!
Talk about a warm welcome to Toombs county! I’m just down the road from 5 points, I can attest that this is the worst damage we have ever gotten around here from a storm!
@@G2GO_outdoors We moved from Savannah last year and weren’t sweating the forecast at all! This is where we would evacuate to in years past. Boy were we surprised! Feels like we’ve been camping for the last few days, so not a horrible time at all. 🛠️
I am in South Carolina. There is No power or internet around us. No Walmarts open or waffle houses all our hospitals are being run on generators. Gas ran out and propane this morning and 5 miles around us no Cash in any ATM machines. It devastated all over in the south! I am blessed that I still have power even though it goes in and out. Sorry for all those trees down. I think you can have another beautiful spot. God bless
You're right about the internet and phone reception. Our area wasn't hit as hard,but....I think just the location we were in,in concordance with the hurricane, our internet and phones were really messed up. I couldn't use a weather app or other apps. I had to come to RUclips, but, when I came to RUclips some videos would play and some would not. And they told us to stay inside the first day. So, even though we weren't hit as badly, there are roads closed and challenges getting to others we want to help. It's heartbreaking 💔
It is heartbreaking and many were not prepared. Today we were able to get access to gas for our generators but the first day we had to drive 1.5 hours to buy some and were limited at that!

Thankful that you and your family are safe. This was a storm that will go down as one of the worst ever. Prayers 🙏 go out to everyone that has been effected by. I live in Florida in a Gulf Coast county just south of where it made landfall and towns are gone 😢. God bless
Even now he is at work. In accidents and calamities by sea and by land, in great conflagrations, in fierce tornadoes and terrific hailstorms, in tempests, floods, cyclones, tidal waves, and earthquakes, in every place and in a thousand forms, Satan is exercising his power. He sweeps away the ripening harvest, and famine and distress follow. He imparts to the air a deadly taint, and thousands perish by the pestilence. These visitations are to become more and more frequent and disastrous. Destruction will be upon both man and beast. {GC 589.3} Amen!
I HAVE A HOME IN COOK COUNTY GEORGIA BEING SOLD ON LAND CONTRACT DOSE ANYBODY KNOW HOW HARD COOK COUNTY GA WAS HIT. I LIVE IN OKLAHOMA NOW HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET AHOLD OF THE PEOPLE BUYING MY PROPERTY ON LAND CONTRACT.
I’m down the road in Lyons. My mom has a large brick home with no trees around so quite a few family and friends stayed with her the night of the storm. I decided I’d tough it out at my house being as she already had so many. I have about 60 large pines surrounding my house. When the 1st one fell on the house, I got nervous and started gathering some stuff up. When the second hit the house, I made up my mind is was gonna make the six block trip to my moms just as soon as there was the slightest break in the weather. The 3rd wasn’t a fallen tree, it was the top 30 ft of a 100 ft pine that broke off and finally punctured my roof causing a 3’ diameter hole in my ceiling . With water pouring in and in complete darkness, I grabbed my stuff and my dog and headed to my mom’s. my driveway is lined with shrubs down both sides so it’s one way in and one way out and of course you would know that there was another pine laid across my driveway so I was essentially stuck. So instead of being stuck, I just said that I’d get a running start and drive straight over my shrubs into my front yard and make it out the best I could that way. made it within one block of my mom‘s house when I come up on a tree blocking the rest of the way there. There were powerlines everywhere and getting out and making a run for the rest of the way was not an option. So I decided I would turn it back around and head back to the house. well by then all roads to my house were blocked completely off. I found a small little concrete blocked Church with an eve over it and pulled up under there and me and my dog got out and tucked up in the corner of two brick walls and sat there and watched the stormfor the next 2 1/2 hours. I was finally able to get back to my house about 830 the next morning. It was the absolute longest night of my life, but we’re alive and that’s all that matters.
