great video as usual bro. excellent usage of the jewelers files, i got a set (course, medium, fine, ultra fine) of these for fine tuning and hand work. i had to do the same kind of filing on the mag lip (the 3rd surface mentioned in the video) to get a saiga exp 030 mags to function in my one vepr-12 shotgun, the saiga-12 mag latch area had to be filed back about 1 mil to allow the locking latch to catch properly, just goes to show you that even oem mags may need to be tuned a bit to function the best overall. my one local range friend has a 10 round molot mag that just falls out of the gun after he is shooting it after about 2-3 rounds the mag just drops out of the mag well. i took this "defective"oem molot mag to my cabin and inserted it into my one vepr 12 shotgun and it runs fine in my vepr12, i ran 30 rounds through it no issue. what could be the issue a bad engagement angle? to little surface area for the mag latch to secure the mag on the locking lug? i thought about building up the wide flat surface area (the first surface area mentioned in the video) with epoxy glue since allowing it to dry and harden allows you to file and sculpt it to a custom size thus allowing you to custom tune the width or thickness of the latch area as to provide a more positive locking area, i think i may do this and see if i can file the 3rd surface area flat rather than on a angle and see if this helps this mag.

Awesome. Glad my molot mags fit right in. The only issue is that they go in a bit stiff when loaded, but otherwise slap in with no problems.

I have a 10 round mag that Dosent lock the bolt when empty only when the last bullet ejects. If I put the mag in with a little force it sends my bolt home. Any ideas for this? Also is releasing the bolt catch on a empty chamber bad for the bolt release/ wear it down?

Vepr12AllDay thanks! I know they're heavier, but don't plan on using them for competition. All I care is that they work reliably

I wish some one would produce these exact mags state side for a reasonable price, the sgm mags arn't to bad but i really like the feel of the factory mags

Dustin Edwards I think it's a matter of imperfect tolerance that results in variance between mags. It would probably cost a lot for someone to produce factory fine tuned mags.

tseawell90 I mean use the same plastic/polymer and metal peice as the factory mags. The sgm mags are like a soft feeling plastic and don't have that metal clip part, they just don't feel as well in the hand, they work fine, and really well after some elbow grease but they still don't feel as solid as the factory mags

Hello, can you make a recommendation on how to modify my 5 round vepr factory mag into a 2 round mag? Thank you!

What surface can you file if the magazine drops from the well when the weapon fires? Sometimes this happens to me even if the mag is fully locked in.

AgentoftheSystem101 with which mags? Have you changed out the mag release or magwell?
