That epiphany game is one of the reasons why you are my favorite magic content creator, most people would launch into a tirade talking about the shuffler, flip tables, how unlucky it is, etc. and drag your audience with you, but you just laughed at the ridiculousness of it and moved on. I don't know what card you're referencing, since Memory Drain is a blue counterspell, but Demogorgon Clutches mills 2. Mind Drain is a 2B discard spell legal in 2022 standard, but that only mills 1. So you're trading 1 mill and 1 opp life loss for 1 life gain, which really isn't worth it.
Now with Historic Horizons beeing postponed LvD shows us how to Jump(start) on schedule anyway :D Thank you for all the excellent content you bring us LvD. Be safe and take care.
in 26:19 I think you really should use Demogorgon's clutches than casting another Froghemoth. the last two cards in the opponent's hand might be of great value, and even if they're both lands you make sure they cannot have enough mana to cast something big next few turns. Froghemoth has haste so it's no big deal to cast later.
@@blenderfox I don't think it's rigged. Izzet Dragon decks do have a lot of ways to dig through their deck and fetch them quickly with Expressive Iteration and Behold the Multiverse. Although that game they didn,t use any ways to dig through their deck, it's just bad luck.

I like this idea and want to try it. Suggestion: Snowland base. Here me out: 4 Binding Triomes are no longer legal but snow duals are, in fact, each of their basic types. To my knowledge in standard 2022 thats the only option. Right now your binding can only get forests. But this gives you a fix no other deck really has. However, it is MORE important for the 4 evolving wilds. I get that much. Maybe 8 tapped lands is too much.

One thing that I've noticed is that people don't realize that Nissa can also put creatures from hand into play. @40:00 a play line could have been to play a mammoth (or clutches) from hand and use Nissa to put Frog into play
@@LegenVD I'm not entirely sure about that. Hypothetically the play line with casting clutches first might have removed the opponent's interaction, which might have left Nissa on the board. Also frog would have been big enough to not trade with Faceless Haven. But hindsight is 20/20 for that part
on game 2 you tried saving evolving wilds to sinergize with cobra... but if you played evolving wilds T1 and a basic T3 you would have access to the same ammount of mana, and if the cobra didn't survive you would have 1 extra mana by playing evolving wilds t1.
Saving Evolving Wilds in hand to synergize with Lotus Cobra doesn't help. Playing Evolving Wilds gets you two mana. Playing an untapped land gets you two mana. Best just to use it immediately IMO in case Lotus Cobra doesn't survive.
@@LegenVD I guess you can highroll a turn 4 Vorinclex in that case? Weighing the chances of that versus a situation like in the game where the lack of an untapped fourth land meant you were forced to play Mammoth instead of Lisette or Nissa I think I'd expect the untapped land in hand to be better on average than the chance of spiking another Cobra and both surviving.
Dedicated mill cards aren't worth it individually. If you're milling someone there's no need for Froghemoth. Incidental mill stapled onto a desirable effect is a different story.
