I had a really intense nodding battle against my bearded dragon. @Reptiliatus for the question of the day, my Pac-Man frogs digital hygrometer and thermometer’s probe suction cup fell of the glass of the exo terra, i had to put it back on the glass, and he bit me and latched on, it was pretty painful, i was able to sneak a night crawler in his mouth at the time because it was feeding day, and then he let go of my finger knowing that it wasn’t food, a day later he was perfectly fine, which was a relief!

What's interesting is the similarity of the vocalization to baby crocodiles! I don't know if any crocodile species are sympatric to the croc skink? I might guess in PNG they might be? For my pet reptile interaction. I've had a Bearded Dragon, named Archimedes, for about 15 years now. When I moved into my new home and got everything set up, I decided I'd let him have a chance to move around. So first I gave him a bath to make sure he didn't track any dirt around, and hopefully would poop in the bath rather than my floor, and then after I dried him off I opened up the bathroom door so he could go out a explore. However he took a few steps out of the bathroom, looked left then right and ran right back to me amd hopped into my lap. It was such an amazing moment to see that he viewed me as a safe place when he was nervous about his new surroundings.
For the question of the day, I have Herman, one of my c.mitratus, who loves me to give him a drink from a dropper or water off my fingers, he uses his water bowl too but one day a while ago when i was watering plants he decided he liked licking water off my hand and seeks it out now ,so it's a cool thing, surprised me as I don't ever handle him ...glad to see the little dragons doing so well 😊
When I had fishtanks I also had African dwarf clawed frogs. The little ones that do not grow larger. They are so cute . Easy to take care of, shallow slow moving water with lots of floating plant. frozen and live foods are good for them along with small pelets that sink.I had a half dozen of them in a 10 G tank. One night in spring Late April I think) I heard some high pitched chirping coming from their tank. The three males were singing for mates. By the end of the week they had paired up and were laying and fertilizing stings of eggs on the plants and driftwood. SAdly none of the eggs got fertilized (not sure why) and I had to remove them before they fouled the water. I was told if the eggs were fertile they would have developed rapidly into wrigling tadpole inside the egg gel. Mine never grew and never moved after a week and then the gel started to dissolve, so I netter them up and put them in the trash. They never mated again but the male would sing each Cpring or during thunderstorms and low pressure system passed over head.
So the pumps often just need to have the impeller magnet pulled out and cleaned, and then the area where it's seated. Usually some grit or soil gets in there and interrupts the magnetic connection, so just washing it out and cleaning the impeller, rod, and magnet will fix it completely. You could add some filter sponge to stop some of that buildup.
Thank you so much for explaining this so thoroughly that’s too kind! I think I properly burned out the last one by accident 😅. Normally I do what you said and it fixes the problem.

Mine is with my baby kingsnake - right after feeding her I was just putting in a clean water and even though she was clearly looking for another mouse, she then proceeded to climb on my hand like "hey I feel like exploring" - for such food motivated species of a snake she seems to realize the difference between fingers and actual food
(Question of the day) I was holding my veiled chameleon, when her tongue shot out and hit my forehead, it turned out a dragonfly landed on my face, and now they are now her favorite food.
Still super stoked for the breeding project! Can't wait to see how you grow with it. Hope to have my hands on 1 or 2 someday! (not in the sense of handling too much of course)
You can put up some needle point mesh with some window screen on inside/outside in a sort of a fence around the filter. Can also somehow get filter floss (like pillow stuffing material) either in the filter or fence to help with clearing out the gunk and not having to buy a new filter all the time.
Thank you kindly for your insight. I feel a bit silly but I just figured out how to pull the fixed compartment out of this filter (it seemed fused at first). So I’ll be sticking the filter floss in to protect the motor!

It is quite amazing! They really enjoy snuggling up to each other and a lot of the babies sleep nestled up to the adults. Fascinating animals to observe! Thank you for watching!
Hi! I JUST discovered you! And I have never seen this species before! How INCREDIBLY AMAZING! I have always loved animals and have a fairly deep & wide knowledge base from a long lifetime of study, but these little guys absolutely inspired me. I’m excited to check out your channel- (I subscribed 😁). You yourself have a sweet & lovely disposition & manner, & are soothing to listen to. 😇 And MAN, have I got a reptile story for ya! In the 7th grade I use to take care of a 9th grade science class’ live animals (basically reptiles and rats). Had a student’s 14 ft python strike my hand & manage to get my entire hand in her mouth the first shot- TRUE STORY- & I stood there in shock & fascination WATCHING HER swallow my arm nearly to the ELBOW before my brain kicked back in & I called the teacher to the back room. Boy, did I become an instant rockstar around school! (1st & last time, too 🙄). And, Happy Ending for the snake, too. The teacher of course wanted to kill it immediately and I absolutely refused that! I taught him how to gently kind-of lift-forward-raise ease-lift-back (into my arm again), until we managed to slowly zig-zag her off of me. NOT an easy or a quick task, & excruciatingly painful - she left a lot of big teeth & holes in my arm- but I was SO happy that it worked out & he didn’t hurt her. ALL student snakes were no longer allowed at school, but the one that ATE me did fully recover in no time, as you’d almost expect. So. That’s MY reptile story!! 😎 Loved your video, the species, your knowledge and the obvious, amazing care you provide for the life & enrichment of these beautiful animals! Well done!!👍
you could try a course sponge block 2x2x6 or so to place in front of the filter intake as a pre-filter so the silt/mud stays out of the filter. Then you can turn the filter off take the pre-filter out rinse and repeat.
Most unique experience for me.... buying a 40 gallon terrarium and ignorantly getting a male Leo to live with my female leo because I thought all animals can use a mate/friend. Then over time, my female laid a few clutches of eggs, and 1 egg out of the 7 was fertilized. I've incubated it, hatched it, and raised a baby leo that will be 9 months old on the 29th of May 2021.
Lil tip to help u make the motors not burn out. Get some of that black filter pads n cut it to size to wrap around where the water gets sucked into. Thatll block alot of junk on going in n burning the motor out.
Amazing!! My partner and I have had one of these for about 6 months now - love him to death! He seems to be comfortable w us putting his food inside the enclosure, also to clean his water etc - was wondering, do they get lonely while isolated?? We have been seriously thinking about getting another one but also trying to see if we might be able to get a female (ours we believe is male) and what the process is for breeding if we do decide to pursue that route! Any info appreciated☺️
I'm new to reptiles (more of an avian guy) but our corn snake will not eat unless he is holding one of us. We will still attempt to feed him in his enclosure but he prefers that he is held.
How long will you buy a new filter for this palladium enclosure? Is it necessary to buy new filter or can wash the filter everyday help? Is washing filter will make them stress out?
I used to have plants in pots in my terrarium so that my Fire Skinks couldn't dig them out. Once I noticed that the plants are dying and so I took them out of the terrarium and put them in front of a window with other plants hoping they would get better outside the terrarium. It turned out that the reason why the plants were dying was that the Skinks were hiding inside of the flowerpot. While they were outside the terrarium they managed to dig through other plants and the way I found out they are missing was when my mom screamed in surprise that something is looking at her from the pot. So I came to catch them and they were fine.
Being into reptiles my entire life, I NEVER knew these existed..HOW?!? They're literally mini dragons!

For never being handled, they seem awfully comfortable with it. I didn't notice any accelerated breathing or other obvious signs of stress.
While I don’t handle them (like ever). I do interact with them by sight and tong feed regularly so they are quite used to my presence. ☺️
I think its because they try to stay as still as absolutley possible, so they don't try to breath heavily due to it causing alot of movement.

That’s fantastic! I’m so happy you’ve reached this point and I’m honoured to have had anything to do with it!
Excited for you and what is to come next!
The first time i saw these crocodile skinks in an aesthetic page on fb, i loved it! And that time was the last season of GoT drops
My bearded dragon followed me around my house like a ragdoll cat, especially in the summer.
Sadly she passed away last year.
I’m so sorry for you loss
its amazing how much LIFE goes on in such a small space
thumbs up
It is quite amazing! They really enjoy snuggling up to each other and a lot of the babies sleep nestled up to the adults. Fascinating animals to observe! Thank you for watching!
I love the sound they make..lol
Red eyed croc skins are adorable
Awww they look like little dragons c: i really enjoy your Videos because i love to draw and seeing your pets gives me inspiration!
Those are cool first time to see those kind of skinks

Thanks for more one great video.
Congrats from Portugal 🇵🇹
Thank you for watching!
The first offspring has definitely grown a lot.
You have an impressive collection of reptiles 🦎🐸😎
Thank you kindly!
@@Reptiliatus omgosh you replied! Thank you for making my day 😊
you could try a course sponge block 2x2x6 or so to place in front of the filter intake as a pre-filter so the silt/mud stays out of the filter.
That’s so cool! Thanks for sharing!
Lil tip to help u make the motors not burn out. Get some of that black filter pads n cut it to size to wrap around where the water gets sucked into. Thatll block alot of junk on going in n burning the motor out.
They are so beautiful 💕
These animals are just so fricking awesome 🔥
They truly are!
Dude, those are the cool lil reptiles!
Thank you!
Man I love them red eyed crocks, very cool
I'm new to reptiles (more of an avian guy) but our corn snake will not eat unless he is holding one of us. We will still attempt to feed him in his enclosure but he prefers that he is held.
How does a CORN SNAKE hold a human being-
*pure confusion*
taking care of these enclosures is HELL. and i thought cleaning the cat litter was tough.
these are the most beautiful looking reptiles oh my! i want one! or 5
They are amazing!
@@Reptiliatus sadly im in australia and we cant get them legally :(
How long will you buy a new filter for this palladium enclosure?
Your animals are so lucky! I aspire to have that kind of bond with my critters.
Thanks so much! Really, I am the lucky one!
I always enjoy your vids as always bro. So peaceful and calming. Love from not so sunny South Africa ✌️
Thank you kindly friend ☺️🙏🏼✌🏼. Your support means so much! Hope all is well!
