Delayed Gratification. Having a Champaigne budget but having beer taste not having Champaine taste and a beer budget.

Two questions. 1) do you have any kids? 2) where or how do men find frugal women, that are wife/girlfriend material!? You seem to have found one of those unicorns!
I really enjoy your videos, the clear concise way you speak, and good advice!

That’s another topic for a video: your spouse is probably the BIGGEST investment you can make. Thanks for your comment :)

The average pension for a police officer in a big dept in USA is worth 2 million dollars today. Most people's 401k is not 2 million. I made 6 figures as a cop, where I worked for 13 years. Now I am a financial analyst at a famous financial firm and I do not make 6 figures. Yes, my life is no longer on the line, but I make much less. I have been investing in index funds for over 20 years. I have a net worth of 5.1 mil now. I will also get a partial police pension of 34k when I turn 55, and I am 48 now. I grew up in NY and graduated from SUNY. I am pretty frugal, and I am by myself. If you were me, how would do you think I could move to NYC area with what I have now and retire? like in NYC suffolk, nassau or westchester? Or do I not have enough? Where should I look to buy a place, house, or condo? Thanks.

      1. Congrats on achieving everybody’s dream, not just the American dream.
      2. How did you amass so much wealth on less than 6 figure income? Very impressive.
      3. With that much networth and a single person, the world is your oyster ;)

      4. The pension is equivalent to a 401k ONLY if I can invest said $2M. But you cannot. It’s really $2M stuck under a pillow. If I had a choice I’d take a $2M 401K any day. It would net more income than my pension from day 1 and will actually grow. A pension does not grow.

Hey, congrats on net worth. How did you transition in your career from cop to financial analyst ? I would like to do the same as i feel stuck working in the public sector too

@@byron9630 like Johnny I have a B.S. degree from the state univ of NY. After I got a divorce I moved from the East Coast to the West Coast where my parents moved. I also have a rich uncle that owns a lot of units in Cali. He gave me a free apt to live in. I started out with no job connections. I worked in the airport LAX preparing paperwork for freight to be flown out of USA. I took the SIE exam, which just came out in 2018. It is the test before the series 7. I passed the SIE and applied for a stock broker position at a big financial company. They had a manager who was a military vet interview me since I was also a veteran. I got the job and I was on the phones for 2 years then applied as a financial analyst at the same company and got hired.

Do you get bored during retirement ? Like there’s camaraderie and support working and I guess a sense of adrenaline and achievement. Do you miss that ?

@@byron9630 not at all lol. I don’t miss it at all. I was a Lt so was mostly alone in my office anyway most of the day.
I do sometimes get bored at home. That’s why I started working PT, picked up hobbies, and now doing these videos :)
