Hey! Your time and attention is invaluable to us, so thank you for watching this episode of True Fiction. We really hope you enjoyed this episode as much as we enjoyed making it. Especially for me, being that I'm a HUGE Godzilla fan. If you liked this, please make sure to check out the other episodes in the series. Thanks again.
@@bryancooper5495 Got em coming out every Sunday, with a few more left this season. If you want, there's few others out already to watch! And Bryan, thank you so much for watching.
Thank you for doing this. It's one of the most informative Godzilla/Anti-War videos I've had the pleasure of seeing. It's important to remember not only the tragedy that inspired Godzilla but to prevent it from ever happening again. While Godzilla himself has grown as a character, as most great characters do, we must never forget his symbolic roots. Outstanding video and I'm looking forward to many more like it!
2018: Kurt makes a video of himself playing with his Godzilla toy at his desk. 2019: Kurt writes and hosts a Godzilla video for GameSpot that thousands of people will watch. So stoked for Nightmare on Elm Street!
This was an exciting episode! I remember when we were kids we would get dressed up as our favorite monsters and wrestle in the playground (but no one wanted to be Mothra). I would always be Hedorah because my friends said that when I farted it was like the smog monster. I thought the episode was very well done. I'm looking forward to the next!
Japan also hero-ized Godzilla, it wasn't just an American thing In the end, the bombing of Japan and our rash decision caused a sort of military alliance with Japan that is greatly respected Godzilla may be origanally meant as a bit of commentary on the effects of nuclear war/america military dominance, but these days it just good Kaiju fun. Let them fight!
AWESOME VID. You helped me so much. I was really struggling to find a valuable vidéo about godzilla for my exam. I didn't excepted to find such a great and well document project ! Thanks you and keep up the good work
This was an extremely informative segment. Granted, I have an affection to Godzilla. I used to go to the Riviera Theater as a kid and watch the Toho monster movies every Sunday. During the week the Riviera showed pornographic films and on the weekends they would show kids' fare. They tried to clean the theater up but we would usually find condoms, underwear, etc... under the seats. Anyways, the theater had a balcony. We would go up to the balcony during the fight scenes and start to throw popcorn, ju ju bees, and soda from the balcony onto the people below.
After that they used to check our pockets and bags. They took away my Creepy Crawler! Melvin, the next day in school gained the nickname of Waddles because instead of walking he waddled because his butt was so sore. Anyway, I digress, I never really knew the background to the origins of Godzilla like this episode showed. I assumed it was the atomic age but I didn't know it went deeper than that. By the way, that was a GREAT set that Kurt used. I love the spotlights and the back room that looked like it was dirty bathroom you'd find in an auto repair garage. Great episode! "Oh, no. There goes Tokyo. There goes Godzilla!"
Thank you so much for making this!! I’ve really enjoyed the recent American Godzilla films, but I can’t wait to see the Japan one this December where he’s once again a destructive force of nature 🤩
I specifically asked the question what are the parallels with Godzilla and the atomic bomb and this video was spot on. I wanted to see the filmmakers adaptation of what he saw from the damage. It makes sense he would be pleading to stop with the creation and implementation of experimental weapons.
He also met and worked with Special Effects Director, Eiji Tsuburaya! Tsuburaya was a Catholic and he used the cross as inspiration for Urutoraman Specium Kosen!
Wow! That’s so cool I had no idea. Guess it is a little sad that Americans take something like Godzilla and completely strip away the symbolism and lessons to make bank..
Yeah, which is also why I tried to appreciate the positive impact it's had, like being something cultures across the planet adore. Just something to think about, I suppose.
You do realize Japan made godzilla a hero first right? America didn't take godzilla's original message and stripped it when Japan gave him 2 separate meanings to his character first 🙄
Literally right after it gets done discussing about the fallout ash burning the skin and hairs off it’s victim’s, and taking the life of the 40 yr old... I got an ad for Apple bees Bar and grill menu. 🤦♂️
Godzilla 1954: Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and Bikini Atoll Bombs. Godzilla 1985: Chernobyl disaster. Shin Godzilla: Fukushima disaster. What is it about Godzilla being the symbol of every nuclear-related disaster in history? ☢️
Its funny that the thing masked by his artistic representation was who was the culprit of dropping the bomb. Making it a monster, when its said that the japanese population were lied to, by being told it was the russians who had dropped it. Which was done by nationalists, but also covered for the real people responsible for it. Its like he had learnt to follow orders and become a little submissive. I bet there is more to it, then. And maybe something of the best of the movie would be rebellious.
LONG LIVE THE KING OF ALL MONSTERS!!!!!! MAY WE CONTINUE TO GET GODZILLA MONSTER MOVIES FOR GENERATIONS TO COME!!!! would love to see gozlilla team up with dragonzord...hint hint toho!!

I absolutely love this video and all of the research that went into it.
Thank you for the in-depth explanation, this was an awesome video! Way cool.
Thank YOU Andrew. Really happy you gained value from it.
Very well done, really appreciate you guys putting this together. Rip Ishiro
To think, we would've never had godzilla if they didn't attack pearl harbor
Loving this series already. This ep was very interesting, even moving in parts. Cheers Kurt.
Thank you so much! That means a lot to the team and I. Really looking forward to you seeing future episodes.
What a great episode. Well researched and thought out. It also brings new information on the origins of everyone's favorite giant monster Gojira.
Thanks, dad
This is a great new segment on this channel. I love it from the topics to the way it is presented.
That's so good to hear, and means A LOT to us. I can't wait for you to see the rest of the episodes!

I have become death. The destroyer of the worlds. - Robert J Oppenheimer
Awesome. More like this pleases!
Yes! I can't wait for you to see future episodes.

Nice work bro. If and when your ready to expand, make the show longer hmmmmmm,
The true fiction files
Hey Mark! Thank you for watching. Also, deeply appreciate the they want for something longer. Here's to the future of True Fiction 🤞
I specifically asked the question what are the parallels with Godzilla and the atomic bomb and this video was spot on. I wanted to see the filmmakers adaptation of what he saw from the damage. It makes sense he would be pleading to stop with the creation and implementation of experimental weapons.
I found a typo at 0:53. The correct characters are '福竜.'
Severely underrated
He also met and worked with Special Effects Director, Eiji Tsuburaya! Tsuburaya was a Catholic and he used the cross as inspiration for Urutoraman Specium Kosen!
This is such a cool video. I hope it gets the attention it deserves.
It'll need to get over the GameSpot brand stamped on it, though. ^^;
Thank You Very Much for this video!
I wouldn't know what the Real Godzilla was! ❤

Thats not how art works though, if they took away all values of it the story would just be incredibly boring.
You do realize Japan made godzilla a hero first right? America didn't take godzilla's original message and stripped it when Japan gave him 2 separate meanings to his character first 🙄
Are there any Godzilla films inspired by the Cold War
Not probably
Godzilla was used it as a metaphor of how dangerous will nuclear warfare be, and using the nuclear weapons.
All hail the king! Team Godzilla!
I love watching Godzilla movies and king kong movies they are the best movie out there but aquarium men is great 👌👌 to
Gojira! 🤘
Literally right after it gets done discussing about the fallout ash burning the skin and hairs off it’s victim’s, and taking the life of the 40 yr old...

This is🦖😭
love his narration but he needs to tone down the facial expressions just a lil bit because his eyebrows and cyclic head movements are too distracting
Hey, thank you for watching! And I also appreciate the criticism. I'll keep it in mind.
I am become death the destroyer of worlds
We still would have gotten Godzilla even if we had never dropped a bomb on Japan.
#60
Godzilla's a gay icon. All true Godzilla fans know this. Strange why fans don't see the gay subtext in Godzilla Evolved.
Its funny that the thing masked by his artistic representation was who was the culprit of dropping the bomb. I didn't nuke anybody. A select few created that chaos.
You pronounce a lot of words oddly.
I'm sorry.
