Hey, most of the original demons were fallen angels, which actually makes them closer to humans than one would think. I think that would logically lead to 2 different types of demons, based on the lineage, being the pure evil from satan variety, and the slightly more sinful than human fallen angel variety, and I kinda wish that was actually something noted in the bible, as that would be an excellent excuse to have demon on demon wars, pointing out war as a bad thing.

I'm really surprised Iruma didn't end up as a vengeful person considering his parents being complete assholes. I'm glad Iruma is really kind, it makes the show ironic since his friends are "demons" and demons are usually portrayed as bad and destructive creatures. He's basically an angel in an all demons' school lol.

Despite the circumstances that led to iruma being sold to Sulivan being portrayed as comedic and played for laughs, the only people Iruma absolutely, totally, completely, unmistakably realizes he's ever hated are his own parents.
And in a world of demons where attempted murder and worse are being directed towards him and dangerous situations harming people he loves happen on a semi-regular basis and he only ends up feeling DISAPPOINTED, that's saying a LOT about how utterly evil his parents really are.

I expected this show to be a Generic Isekai, but by the end of Season 1 I wanted to profusely apologize for even thinking that.
This show is so wholesome and Iruma, Asmodeus and Clara are one of the most wholesome friendships in Anime
I really enjoy this one. A nice twist on the old trope, demon in a human world. Plus Clare’s family is the best!

Imma be honest, this anime is stupid, just all in the best ways, totally worth the watch, a perfect comedic aspect along with cute moments between human/demon, the entire basis of the show is perfectly designed, such as the fact that the human parents seemed more demonic and evil than the actual demon who actually loved and cared for Iruma. 10/10

Aah, I remember when there were only like 3-5 episodes out and I absolutely HAD to take myself to the manga. Really looking forward to seeing where this series goes.
This anime REALLY needs more attention, it's easily One of the most unique idea: instead of a demon coming to the human world, One human comes to a world full of demons.

9:16 I WAS DIEING OM THIS EPISODE! It was hilarious me and my cousin couldn’t stop laughing.
For such a dark premise, this was actually a really heartwarming anime. It really struck a chord with me, even though I do have loving parents.

a part that really hit me was when kiriwo asked why he wasn't in despair, iruma just answered that being in despair doesn't fill your stomach.
and that line alone just showed me that his backstory wasn't going to be a gag, it was something that was real. and this showed me that he had no intentions of returning to the human world with his parents.

This is my favorite currently running shounen. It doesn't have enough impact for me to call it a true all-time masterpiece, but it's a clear 9 out of 10.

I was always floored by the comical way they depicted Irumas depressing as heck life - his parents are awful and I really really hope at some point in the future there is some sort of personal karma inflicted upon them - it would just be cathartic. How dare they do that to this cinnamon roll.
There's actualy a scene in the manga depicting iruma's past life not in a comical way, and it will be animated in the next season so can't wait for that

That would be quite strong in any situation, even if you are the one attacking. If they can’t hit you to defend themselves, then your job is much easier. It’s also good for distractions or causing self sabotage, dodging attacks and letting it hit important stuff to the enemy.

they don’t have ‘friend’ in their vocabulary (or in other words, they didn’t have a word for the definition of friendship). the closest word they have for it are ‘allies’ or ‘comrades’ (read the manga for more confirmation) since the netherworld’s history is brutal and friendship would be a little too soft

This anime kinda sounds somewhat similar to My Hero Academia. both protags enter a school to learn and become number 1 (MHA being the #1 Hero while this one aims to be the next Demon King,) both enter a class that end up getting so much popularity amongst the other classes (MHA being Class-1A and this one being the Misfit class) as well a the main protagonist also receiving popularity and having to hold a secret from the other students and teachers (MHA being Izuku's One for All Quirk and Iruma hiding the fact that he's a human.
And also iruma's face is also very familiar to izuku's face

It often requires the death of many of the people you care for, your own body, your thoughts, and is always going to end with your death or eternal suffering, though that’s good for this guys parents. 😈 . The 'be better than his pacifist older brother' was one of the fake "reasons" (along with "destiny" and a "promise"). His real reason was simply was cause it's fuckin cool.

I feel like that theory could be a stretch, if they really wanted to go with the “American girl” trope they would’ve probably given her blonde hair, an obsession over beauty, and the typical silly/wacky outgoing personality with English slang. But that’s my thoughts. Ya could have a point…

I expected Iruma to be more spoiled through the episodes and the first episode being only Sullivan, Opera and Iruma

How could any parents be so selfish and sell their child? I been watching the show and I really like it so far. I really like the characters also I love how Iruma is overall. He is also pretty lucky he had such a hard life. He parents didn’t care, he barely ate anything,and his friends didn’t even know his name. Then he has someone who loves him, more than enough food to eat, and friends that always want to be with him. I don’t want to sound ungrateful about my life but if I had that happened to me I wouldn’t want to come back home. I love my parents and life so I probably wouldn’t agree in the first place but if I did I would love to visit home.
