I just need a quick shot with one. I'll be able to put this online and be famous! Everything will be fine."
A few minutes later, screams are heard, people are running for their lives, medics arrive, a medical helicopter is called, and the family of the victim just can't believe that such a magnificent animal would attack their father/son/husband, etc. (Imagine that!)

Now you have a whole generation that was born and raised in the built up areas. Just wait for these encounters to get more frequent as the heard grows. Isn't nature awesome!!!

Man it’s weird how the animal knows he’s supposed to be there but like what’s all this other stressful stuff. You know we’ve just gotten to a point now where something has got to change. It’s unhealthy for both sides. Parks are over run now it’s sad.

It’s a 1200 pound animal with swords on its head. How stupid can you be to get within 100 yards of one?

Was on a trip in Yellowstone 20 years ago, filmed a very large elk along the side of the road, he got to within 25' away and I thought I better move before my luck ran out.
Big animal, over 6' to the top of his back and about 10' to the top of his antlers. Had he been so inclined I could have been a statistic.....lol.

I just don't understand thinking it's ok to be close to an animal that is wild and is in their natural habitat?!?

I wish it was feasible for National Parks to have people pass some kind of knowledge & safety test before being allowed into the parks 🤨

Elk dont attack, they defend thier territory. If your in their bubble theres gonna be trouble. Born and raised in montana. Be observant and respectful of space. The wilderness is wild believe it or not.

Last time I was in Yellowstone a grizzly bear was crossing the street and people actually got out of their cars to take pictures of it. They got out of their cars.

The elk were DEFENDING, not attacking. Imagine what you'd do if a group of strangers wandered into your bedroom to stick a camera up your nose just as you were concluding your foreplay!!! Nuff said.

I've never been there but i have to believe that most visitors to Yellowstone don't behave that way. I'm sure a lot are educated on the animals and respect them. Then there's those who think the animals are placed there for us all to see like a petting zoo.
