Brilliant. I've read the Penguin books version of this they call a graphic novel. Worth it for forcing the reader to examine each line, each image - given each a double page spread - as a sweet morsel to chew and digest in the oesophagus of their mind.
I love this movie. The animation put to Allen Ginsberg's (James Franco) voice is just perfect. And the music in the background was phenomenally written by Carter Burwell. I say Bravo! to the filmmakers for putting together such an underground masterpiece and doing Allen Ginsberg's memory justice. Bravo!
I have seen a very similar animation back in 90' on cartoon network, but I was to young to remember wit good detail, but I came here becasue of the search of that animation
One question: Why does James Franco's intonation sound so Scottish (like Glaswegian speech melody)? - By the way, I like the Scottish speech melody a lot.
I love these animated sequences. I would have loved to see an entire reading of Ginsberg's poetry by Franco with this animation throughout.
This is best orally delivered with a conversational tone like this. Imagine Ezra Pound trying to read it. It would sound like an indictment.
